F-Toys Confect: Meishoku No Kabuto Samurai Helmet

F-Toys Confect is a Japanase toy company that makes capsule toys, among other items. Their Meishou no Kabuto line is a series of blind box samurai helmets and is available now.

I recently received these helmets from AmiAmi, currently the only place that I know of that carries these besides eBay and maybe some other online Japanese toy stores. When I bought them, I bought them because they were labeled as 1:12, and I thought that they might be cool with Articulated Icons. Yes, even though I run a company that is developing toys, it doesn’t mean that I am not on the lookout for compatible accessories and dioramas. When I saw these I thought, “Those might work.”

As I don’t have any Articulated Icons samurai in hand, I’ll have to do a follow up at a later time. But taking into account that AI scales with Marvel Legends Agent Coulson and the larger S.H. Figuarts, I used SHF Body Kun and Agent Coulson as my guinea pigs.

I’ll be 100 percent honest in that I won’t really be reviewing each helmet, nor will I be doing them the historical justice they need. Rather, I am looking at these from the pure accessories aspect, and I can confirm these work with Coulson and Kun, leading me to believe they will work with Articulated Icons. Included in this set are 10 blind-boxed helmets for each of the following:

Yukimura Sanada (link)
Ieyasu Tokugawa (link)
Hideyoshi Toyotomi (link)
Tadakatsu Honda (link)
Masayuki Sanada (link)

The helmets are made from a light ABS plastic, they are thin, and are probably prone to breaking. These are meant as display pieces and not as “play” toys, and they will look great on shelf displays. They should match any of the Articulated Icons samurais and will definitely give you the ability to “make” a historical character in your battles.
