Bandai: S.H. Figuarts 2017 Budget

shfiuartsa

It’s time to take another look at our 2017 Budget. This time for Bandai S.H. Figuarts.

Like our Marvel Legends budget, this isn’t a completely accurate list, and we are drawing conclusions about what will be released based on what was released. Let’s start by looking at 2016. In 2016 there were a total of 72 figures from Star Wars, Marvel, Dragonball, Naruto, Kinnikuman, Lupin, Body Kun and Chan, Pokemon, Super Mario, Ranma, TMNT, DC, Bruce Lee, Music, and WWE. Please note this list does not focus on Tokusatsu, which includes Super Sentai (Power Rangers) and Kamen Rider lines. If you bought everything on the list below, you spent about US $4,896.37 on your collection (I just cried a little after calculating that).

Let’s look at 2017. So far we know the following is listed, available for pre-order. Eighteen figures so far costing you US $1,022. Granted there are reissues, but we know that some of you missed them the first time around. If  2017 rounds out like 2016, then you can expect to pay another 3 grand in toys, maybe more. It seems that we get at least one of each Brand each month. Our monthly toy pull looks like:

Star Wars
Dragonball
Marvel
DC
Naruto
Movie (Bruce Lee, etc)
Music (Freddy Murcury, Michael Jackson)
Anime (Ranma, Lupin, etc.)

I don’t know where WWE is going in all this, but we know Triple H is on the way, and we should expect more. Now that TMNT cartoons are done, what is next? And Stay Puft? Without the rest of the Ghostbusters? Star Wars teased Chewie (March?), ANH Obi-Wan (April?), Ep 3 Obi-Wan (May?), R2-D2 (June?), C-3PO (June?), we are still waiting on Anakin (July?), and there are battle droids (August?) and clones (November?) in the pipeline as well. And if December 2016 saw a huge push for Star Wars Rogue One, then we can expect December 2017 see a huge push for Episode VIII. And I am certain I could conjure up a similar list for Marvel, DC, Naruto and the rest. While 72 was the magic number in 2016, I think 96 might be closer to right in 2017 and that might push you towards the US $5,000 mark (my wallet just flash burned into a pile of dust).
