Bandai finally released promotional pics and info for the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin that were teased last month, and, yup, I’m going to need a wrestling shelf now. My wrestling watching days were at their highest during the Attitude Era, so these hit me right in the sweet spot. Nothing wrong with Mattel’s WWE line, it’s just that these are Figuarts, and I’m knee-deep into the import figures right now. It doesn’t help that they look fantastic.
Now smell what The Rock is cooking . . .
Both figures will utilize the face-printing technology we know and love. It can look a little rough in pictures, like on Jedi Luke and Civil War Captain America, but in person is where the effect is seen. Just beautiful. And before getting too far into it, these are listed as around 160mm, or 6.3 inches tall. That makes me want them even more.
The Rock comes with three different heads: the People’s Eyebrow, of course; a head with sunglasses; and a screaming head. And as you can see, he comes with a microphone. Because most of the fun of watching The Rock on TV was his mic work. Also included are three sets of hands.
And since this is Figuarts, the figure is completely able to do The Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow.
And then there’s this plastic can of whoop-ass . . .
When you look at the Stone Cold figure, you’ll notice he’s a little more bang for your buck than The Rock. That’s not Bandai’s fault, though; that’s just accurate to the characters. Austin comes with a removable vest and the knee braces do a lot to spruce up the figure.
It says Steve includes three heads, but am I crazy or are there four heads here? Looking forward calm, looking to the right with mouth slightly open, screaming, and kind of a beat up-looking head. He also has three sets of hands.
The addition of a couple of ice cold Steveweisers surprised me, but now I’m super excited to get them. Best accessories ever!

Both figures go up for pre-order July 1st and will release in December. The asking price is $63, so they’ll be a little cheaper when they . . . FINALLY . . . hit the online stores.
