Like I said earlier, Bandai has been showing off their new Star Wars figures from their model kit and S.H. Figuarts lines today. From the Figuarts line we now get full details on the teased EPI Obi-Wan Kenobi along with EPVII Kylo Ren, First Order Stormtrooper, and Captain Phasma.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is based on his Padawan look from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and comes with two heads, one stern and one…not so stern. The faces use the same printing technology we saw with Luke Skywalker so it does look a little off in pictures and close-ups but just like Luke it should look fantastic in person.
He also comes with alternate hands, one being that awesome two pointy fingers fighting stance hand. Of interest is the inclusion of Qui-Gon Jinn’s lightsaber along with Obi-Wan’s. Sure, he uses it to finish off his duel with Darth Maul, but I really hope this is a tease that Qui-Gon is in the works.
The First Order Stormtrooper from Star Wars: The Force Awakens is looking great too, unsurprisingly.
The Stormtrooper comes with the usual hand load-out. Two open, two fists, two trigger fingers. The blaster looks nice but it doesn’t come with the stock like the model kit.
At this point I have to admit that I have been on a The Force Awakens blackout. I saw the first trailer, but that’s about it. So I don’t know much about Kylo Ren. And I don’t want to know. But cool figures are cool figures and I will have this. Hopefully the movie will make him as cool as the character already is.
It looks like the blades of his lightsaber are removable. Again, alternate hands are two fists, two grips, and at least one splayed out fingers hand.
Finally, a tease of Captain Phasma that I found on Facebook. Yes, I know Phasma is a woman, and the figure does a nice job of conveying that with the stance.
