Oh c’mon! I just got the Hasbro Legends Class Bombshell and then BadCube has to go and tease these!
Don’t get me wrong, I like Bombshell and Skrapnel, but these third party Insecticons look insanely G1. Perhaps slightly cartoony but still, they look solid and bigger than the Hasbro offerings. I say bigger based on BadCube’s previous offerings in the Old Timer Series. So let’s do a quick rundown of BadCube before drooling over the not-Insecticons.
Back when they were Cubex they gave us Huff (not-Huffer).
Who, in my “not a Transformers expert” opinion, nails the Huffer feel. There are other options out there but this is my Huffer of choice.
After the name change to BadCube they gave us Brawny (not-Brawn) and Backland (not-Outback). You can check out DisThunder’s review of Brawny here. Again, I think Brawny is as spot-on as you can get.
Right now BadCube is developing Wardog (not-Warpath) and he is shaping up to be another winner. BAM!
So when Kickbutt, Hypno, and Claymore (Kickback, Bombshell, and Shrapnel) crossed my Facebook feed earlier I felt both joy and despair. Joy for how good these look in both robot and bug modes. Despair for how I was just happy with what I have and now that feeling is gone. Argh. The hunt never ends.
