A lot of people, including myself, were worried that the San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Original Comic Raphael action figure from Playmates was going to be just a stationary piece like the SDCC 2012 Night Shadow Leonardo.
It looked to have articulation but it was all glued into place. Shame, because I’m a big fan of figure painted like this, with the heavy shadows and artificial light sources. But, I’m an even bigger fan of black and white figures with heavy black lines to simulate comic art, so when I posted about this year’s Raphael exclusive I was excited, to say the least. I missed out on NECA’s versions of this concept. Still breaks my heart.
But that lingering doubt itched the back of my brain. Will this new black and white Raphael be articulated? Can I pose it? If it’s as good as Playmates’ NickToon Turtles, I will have to track it down. So when this picture was posted on the Fwoosh Forums I was immediately relieved. It is indeed articulated. And now I must have it.
But, will it be a one-off like Night Shadow Leo? Man, I hope not. I need the whole team like this. And Shredder. And Casey.
