While my dream of non-transforming Transformers grows closer and closer, we aren’t quite there yet. Take these Ex Gokin by Art Storm. Remember, these are my personal wants for a dream Transformers line and I’m sure there are a few out there hiding that would agree with me.
Die cast? Check!
Doesn’t transform to preserve look and aesthetics of robot mode? Check!
Damn fine representation of cartoon looks? Check!
Extra parts like hands, heads, weapons? Check!
Around the 10 to 12 inch range to kind of fudge into my existing displays? No! Non! Nyet! These are around 6 inch.
At $95 for Prime and $125 for Grimlock I’ll have to pass. Really, that’s Masterpiece price territory, and I’m good paying it for figures twice this size. If I could find a MP Grimlock, that is. And really, while Masterpieces do transforms, I’m completely happy with what they’ve done. But I’ve got to hold on to my dream line too. Someday.
