A little late gathering some of the pics from Diamond Select’s display at C2E2, but here they are. Thanks to Fwoosher UHFvsTheWorld for the pics of Mystique and Jules!
Zach has said DST wasn’t privy to reference for Magneto at the time of development, so Mystique it is. And really, come on guys, it’s not a bad choice. It’s a different character from the movies. That alone is pretty impressive, more so than another Wolverine.
I feel the overwhelming urge to buy lots and lots of the Pulp Fiction figures. Suit body fodder anyone? Jules comes with a tasty burger, a refreshing beverage, and a gun. The heads on Bride and GoGo are being tweaked. And even if you don’t dig on that Mystique the base is worth the price of admission.
ArtStorm showed off pictures of their Fewture Models Alpha Trion.
At between 6 and 7 inches and running nearly a bill he’s a little pricey, but man does it reinforce my unpopular need for nontransforming Transformers. I know, I know, the whole point is that Transformers transform. It’s even in the name. But I already pay Masterpiece prices for robots that I leave in robot mode. I’m not in it for cars and planes and tape decks. I want the characters in their natural individual forms. Make them plastic, make them show or comic accurate, load them with articulation, make Optimus Prime and Megatron 10 inches and scale the rest accordingly, and I will still pay MP prices for them in a heartbeat. No alt mode, but if they wanted to throw in smaller cars and trucks just to appease other fans, I’d go for that too.
Check out a sneak peek at Sideshow’s 1/6 scale R2-D2!
I saw these mugs today on BigBadToyStore and thought they were nifty.
I especially like the Venom, and I’m going to have to grab Deadpool for my wife. She’s a big fan of both Wade and java.
But these…
…look to be an injury waiting to happen. You won’t be able to drink from anywhere else on the Thor mug but the front, right above the face. Wouldn’t that mean his helmet wings are going to be aimed right at your eye sockets? And I can’t imagine the looks from coworkers when you hook your nose or eyelid with Loki’s horn. Cool cheek scars, engage! “How’d you get those cuts?” “LOKI!!!” ::shakes fist::
If you’ve been holding off on nabbing your Star Wars Black Obi-Wan Kenobi, Amazon has him for $13.99.
Everyone knows I’ve been waiting impatiently for these. NECA showed carded pics of their Dawn of the Planet of the Apes figures today!
Just a couple of weeks to go. I can’t wait!
And then there’s this…
The Blu-Ray set for The Amazing Spider-Man is already planned and will come with an exclusive Electro bust. An ugly, asymmetrical, crooked, poorly painted Electro bust that I can only picture as creepy sitting on my entertainment center. Yay?
