Welcome back to another edition of Demanded Characters. This week we take a look at a hero who has been around for a long time. He has been a prince, a hero, and one of the only men who can say he went toe to toe with Deathstroke and lived. The week’s Demanded Character is Brion Markov, Geo-Force.
Last week there were many great ideas for DCSH that should be redone in the DCUC line. Read last week’s article
Brion Markov is a prince in a small European country near France. His country was under attack from the crazy Baron Bedlam, and he turned to science to help defeat the villain. While Brion’s brother refused to use technology to help, Brion embraced science and was given super powers. His new powers allowed him to control the weight of items, the ability to fly, and gave him a connection to the earth that allowed him to become almost invulnerable.
During the battle with the Baron, Brion met some other heroes, the biggest name being Batman. After his country was saved he decided to follow the heroes to the U.S., and learn how to become a superhero. Batman took some of these heroes under his wing, and formed the Outsiders. After that Brion bounced around the DCU from the Outsiders, to the JLA, back to his home country, and most recently back to the Outsiders. He has never been an A list Superhero, but has had some memorable moments in DCU history, making him a necessity at some point in the DCUC line.
Let’s take a look at his costumes through the years.
Original/Modern- Both his original and modern costumes are almost the same. Giving us this look would help to build both a modern and founding Outsiders team. Mattel could even use the Captain Atom head, the Nightwing body, and with a new paint job this would make a great figure.
The Green Suit- After the death of his sister Terra, Brion needed a change. His original costume was very similar to his sister’s and he could not bear to wear it anymore. This costume puts his initials on his chest so all the villains know who they are fighting. Again, like the other costumes, he could be a mix of parts but still a new figure.
