Marvel Legends – Series 3 (2003)

Ghost Rider

This is the Dan Ketch version of Ghost Rider, he was the ’90s follow up to Johnny Blaze. While I’d prefer a good Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider this one’s pretty good. It’s a nice solid figure and definitely captures the feel of Ghost Rider. The motorcycle pack in was pretty cool too!

Magneto

Magneto was a bit of a letdown. We were expecting to see a more Jim Lee-esque Magneto that would use the Captain America base figure. Instead Magneto was placed on an Iron Man base with new forearms, hands, shins and feet. The head sculpt is amazing and the removable helmet is cool bonus.

Thor

The biggest complaint out of the fence with this figure is the scale, he’s HUGE! Even for Thor! We were expecting something in the mid six inch range. Instead we got something in the seven inch ginormous range. This is a solid figure, great sculpt, and has all the articulation that you can expect. The only piece missing is the ab joint that would be difficult to engineer with Thor’s costume. The big three of the Avengers are now complete.

Wolverine

Wolverine is a great addition to the line. Using the X-Men movie Evolution figure as base, Toy Biz cut articulation into the figure, satisfying collectors around the world. Or not. Turns out this might not have been the best idea and the figure winds up being huge! He’s definitely not the five foot tall scrapper we all know and love.
