Marvel Legends – Series 2

Dr. Doom

Dr. Doom is another fantastic addition to the growing Marvel Legends collections. This classic Fantastic Four villain is featured in his classic Jack Kirby looks! While the figure doesn’t pack as much articulation as Captain America in Series 1, this is a good solid figure. The only complaint is the size, Doom’s a little on the short side and it would have been great to see him a bit taller.

Dr. Doom Doombot

Toy Biz surprised all collectors when they released a super rare variant of Doombot! One of the robots that Doom uses in his stead. The figure is almost completely identical to Dr. Doom, except that behind his removable mask there is a ROBOT face and not a human face!

Human Torch

Another strong showing, the Human Torch! Johnny Storm here is based off the Spider-Man Classics Spidey/Daredevil figure and is a good match. Torch and Spidey have always been paired as similar builds and this guy is no exception. Keep an eye out as there are some slight paint variations with this figure.

Namor

A controversial choice, not so much in the character selection, but definitely in the costume selection. Many a collector were expecting, hoping, wanting Namor in his classic green Speed-o digs. It is not to be. Instead we are getting pants and vested Namor. I guess in this modern age of competitive swimming pants are ok, but yeah many a folk are upset. The overall sculpt is great, the head might be on the large side and it would be perfect if the figure had an ab crunch. Otherwise a new fantastic buck to be exploited.

Thing

Thing is the another of the original Fantastic Four members to enter into the Marvel Legends series. This is another amazing figure and very similar to Wave 1’s Hulk. It’s a bit on the tall side as Thing, Ben Grimm is listed as six feet tall, but there is a thing called artistic license. Many times Thing is drawn larger than his listed size. The sculpt is the best part of this figure and perfectly captures Thing’s personality. The articulation could be better as there are no bicep swivels and there are no ball hips. Like Hulk Thing has bendy hands and they are met with the same level of success. All in all this is an excellent figure for your collection.
