Hasbro: Marvel Legends Juggernaut Series Cable

I love the new Cable figure. I think it might be my favorite out of the Juggernaut series. I love the costume, the design, the sculpt, the size, the scale — everything. This, this is a pretty awesome Cable figure.

Cable is one of those characters that I don’t always know how to place. For the most part he’s a cool character on his own as a time-traveling warrior mutant who pops in and out of the timeline. That’s actually a really cool part of his history. Then there is the whole “son of Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor” and is a bad-ass telekinetic mutant infected with the techno organic virus, which consumes the majority of his telekinesis and telepathy to keep it from spreading. If you haven’t been reading comics, that whole last sentence is like a generation’s worth of mouthfuls, and you’ll either have to live with that sentence or do some research because that’s like a book’s worth of material. I’ll stick to the time-traveling cyborg with big guns part.

This costume is from Avengers: X-Sanction that came out in 2012. It’s a newer-old costume that’s made its way into Marvel Legends and is a huge improvement over some of the previously armored looks. The figure captures the costume perfectly and has tons of details to take in. While I love the body armor — it’s big, bulky, and has a ton of detail — it’s engineered to allow for the most movement and doesn’t hinder articulation. But it’s the techno-organic arm that I keep coming back to. Yeah, it’s super simple, just etched lines, but it pops. It’s really well done and looks fantastic.

The articulation is great. Cable has all the standard joints with a ball-jointed abdomen instead of the standard hinge. This is to allow for a wide range of movement and maintain the sculpt of the abs and body armor. As mentioned before, it looks great and the range of movement is superb.

Cable comes with two guns and a Juggernaut Build-a-Figure piece. The guns are big and over the top like you expect for Cable; however, the small one has a thumb hole around the handle and is a bit difficult to place in either hand. The trigger finger on both hands may or may not need to be cut a bit to get them through the trigger hole. The fingers are a bit thick too. Yes, I just wrote that.

All in all, I give this figure excellent grades for likeness to character, sculpt, scale, articulation, accessories, and fun factor. No matter what era of figures you collect and display, Cable can easily fit into any of them — time-traveling super-soldier, remember? You can pick up this figure today at:
