Revoltech Skeleton Pics

Ray Harryhausen Skeleton Creeps

Ray Harryhausen Skeleton creeps and crawls.

I love skeleton action figures.  I’m always on the lookout for a perfect super poseable Skeleton action figure.  I’m weird like that.  I’ve seen a few different takes on the Harryhausen Skeleton warrior and never bought for various reasons, but the marriage of this design and Revoltech made this figure a must buy.  When I put the preorder in, I was tempted to get three, but I thought I ought to see how I like the first one before committing all that money!  Click through for some more pics!

What you say to me!?

As usual with revoltech figures, the Skeleton Warrior came  with a plethora of accessories, several pairs of hands, two shields, a special shield holding arm, a base, a partial skeleton, two swords and a spear.

Figure with base.

The base is intricate and the inclusion of the partial skull emphasizes the whole idea that these guys are coming out of the earth.

All the pieces can be stored on the stand or the figure.

extra hands, shield holding arm, extra sword and shields on the stand.

The sculpt is a great match for film model and the articulation is pretty well integrated into the sculpt.

Articulation

The articulation is pretty much perfect.  This figure is super poseable to the extreme. The figure uses mostly Revoltech joints which, if you are unfamiliar, is a ball shaped hinge that can swivel at both ends.  The range of motion is similar to what you find in an old ML shoulder ball/bicep swivel.

Revoltech joints at knees, hips, waist, mid-torso, shoulders, neck, ankles and elbows. Hinged wrists.

The Revoltech joints seem a lot more sturdy now compared to past revoltech figures I have owned.  Some figures I had, the arms and legs would constantly fall off whilst posing, but this figure feels pretty solid.

The figure is also pretty light weight and balances well on it’s tiny feet.

No, no, you're fine. I haven't been paid to bust you, so we're good.

Scale

The figure is 5.5 inches tall, so a little short to use with your DCUC or Marvel Legends, not that it was meant to be.  I tend to collect figures in 6 inch scale, so this would be a lot more useful for me if it was a bit taller.  I’d have more figures to pose him with/against in battle.  I’m glad I have this figure, but I think I would buy a few more if it fit in better with the rest of my stuff.

VS the Gentle Giant skeleton from the Hellboy Animated mini figures.

I think it looks cool fighting his big brother from Gentle Giant.

The paint is mostly good, but the skull has a couple large blemishes on the forehead and a couple black teeth.  Overall, it’s a great figure and I’m glad to add it to the collection.  I don’t think I’ll be building an army, but that’s not due to quality of the figure, just the fact that I don’t have many figures to fight such an army.
