SERIES 1 (1st Quarter 2002)

Fwoosh brings you a quick review of the figures from this series. Featuring Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man (plus variant) and Toad. Iron Man came with a variant, he was painted bronze instead of yellow/gold and had the classic pointy horned helmet instead of the rounded tips featured on the non variant.

Captain America (version 1)

Captain America is one of the greatest characters that Marvel Comics ever made and his entry into Marvel Legends as one of the first figures is absolutely fantastic. Featuring over 32 points of articulation, beautiful sculpting and awesome paint this is a must have figure for anyone.

Hulk (version 1)

Hulk is another of the classic core Marvel Comic book characters that is a perfect fit for the launch of this new line. While this figure does not feature as much articulation as Captain America and Iron Man, it’s a beautiful sculpt and wonderfully painted figure. The figure would be perfect with ball hips and bicep swivels. The other interesting aspect to the figure is the rubber hands with wires in them, or bendy fingers. While the idea is sound, the execution leaves something to desire. The bendy doesn’t work as expected, he can’t make a fist and often the wires are missing.

Iron Man

Like Captain America this is another cornerstone figure that had to be made. It’s a beautiful figure and has the same articulation as Captain America. The face plate of the armor comes off to reveal Tony Stark.

Iron Man, Bronze (Variant)

This figures uses the same exact sculpt as Iron Man, but is painted bronze instead of yellow/gold and the face plate is different. It sports the original version of this armor, the horned faceplate. It’s an excellent feature and one that works really well.

Toad

Toad in an interesting entry and is the unreleased Toad figure from the X-Men movie 2 packs that featured a movie version of the character and the comic version. The figure was in demand and Toy Biz made god on releasing this amazing figure. It does not feature as much articulation as the rest but for those wanting a Toad for their collections, this is a great figure.
