Jada Toys Street Fighter

@panthercult The number of times I had the import Rashid in my cart and didn't buy him because I couldn't afford to get into that line, so many times. 

Jada's already done Evil Ryu and Violent Ken so they're making VERY generous use of those initial sculpts. I keep getting talked into them because their release schedule is spread out enough the occasional impulse buy doesn't sting too much. "Been five months since I... Hey, what's this repaint? Sure why not." 

I hope we get at least one repaint of every character, and then move on to Third Strike, then SF Alpha.  I would never expect them to make those full lines but some fan favorites would be nice, especially if they fit in well with the SF2 roster.  

I'd also like to see Jada make more deluxe versions of certain characters using soft goods.  Edgerunners: David figure by Jada has some fantastic clothes.  Pie in the sky but I'd love a Charlie figure with soft goods vest and pants.  For now I will just enjoy my Fei Long with Kung Fu outfit from Wormhole toys (bought from 5k toys).  I know I posted about it before, but I can't stress how cool this figure is with cloth clothes.  He looks fantastic, toy-of-the-year caliber to be had for ~$40 ($25 figure + $15 outfit).

Oh - yeah -  soft goods and I would be out.    No interest at all in that for me.   I want them to keep doing exactly what they are doing and just keep going by adding more characters.

To each their own. It’s your money after all. As long as you are buying what you like and enjoy it, it’s all good. 

Sagat is my most anticipated figure in the next wave. The original SF final boss     Has always been a fave of mine. I musta spent 20 quarters trying to beat him in the late 80s. 

Sagat's a favorite villain for me, too. 

I imagine they have to plan, assuming the line sells, to make at least all the player two options so they can double dip on the sculpts. I always really liked gray Dalsim, pink E. Honda, and blue Blanka in particular. It's a good way to make up money on sculpting and as much as repaints annoy folks in some lines, SF is just made for repaints or recolors. (For the life of me I can't remember the original Cammy or Guile second player colors and it's driving me huts - were they both blue? Or was Guile brown/beige? It's bizarrely difficult to google for such a simple fun fact.) 

Guile was brown in Championship Edition in 1992. Then in the same year when Hyper Fighting came out, it was blue which seems to be the P2 color most people want. I can’t remember Cammy’s original P2 colors. She debuted in Super SF2 The New Challengers but I can’t remember if by that time everyone had multiple color schemes depending on the button you press. I seem to remember blue p2 and pink p2 colors being some of the alternate colors for her.

Yeah -  I'm not interested in the entire roster and will only pick up my favorites.    That said, that's still a decent number and I can definitely be sold on some of color variants as well.    But I just cannot be made to care about Cammy or Deejay or Sagat no matter how hard you try.        That said I'm still eagerly awaiting Blanka, Akuma and E Honda and will likely pick up Vega.      If they do a black costume M. Bison I will definitely grab that and will be tempted by alternate color releases for Dhalsim, Blanka, Akuma and E Honda.    

 

Once they have completed the O17 -  really 20, right if they do Evil Ryu, Violent Ken and Shin Akuma -  I do hope they branch into characters from other games.  

 

Honestly it feels like SF V  has such a robust character list, it might be the one to go to so they could go for a long time.

I have long wanted a figure of Rashid and was hoping Storm Collectibles would get to him, but they never did so now am hoping maybe Jada will beat them there.       Nekalli would be another must have for me - those dreadlocks would be fun.       Santamu would be awesome -  I might put her in my Wakanda display depending on how she turned out.    I would buy a Zeku figure, for sure.   Menat would be one I'd be likely to grab.  Seth would be neat.   I'd probably grab an Oro.  Satsuki would be a maybe, likewise with Laura and Ibuki

Kage is just shirtless young Akuma, right?  Still, I might grab him

 

I know there are other fan favorites from V others would want like Juri, Birdie, Falke...the list is long.   

 

But if they moved to V they could keep going with waves of Street Fighter for a long, long time.   

Gotta say you dont hear the phrases street fighter v and fan favourite used in the same sentence very often.

I wonder if Capcom has any say in character selection? If so you can pretty much guarantee the first non SFii character will be Luke.

I impulse bought Cammy (& blue Mega Man) at my lcbs. I thought Cammy looked a bit short, but was surprised to see she's actually slightly smaller than the teen Legends body.

Still, she is very well built and has nice range of movement. Very cool figure, but I won't be starting a new line to collect.

Cammy is actually at the right height when compared to the her other SF line mates. She is supposed to be shorter than Chun Li and the shortest of the original 17 SF2 characters. You have bought yourself a well made and scale accurate Cammy. I’m still looking squint eyed at my ML Wolfsbane. 

Good to know. Never played the games, so I just know the characters through the fwoosh board tbh.

Not sure why, but I think Dhalsim is my favorite from this line so far. I find myself picking him up and posing him on my work desk more than the others, anyway.

I have to think either Dan or Sakura is first up after they finish the original lineup, I think they’ve been in more games than some of the SF 2 characters.

Dhalsim is one of my favorite figures from 2024, beating out a ton of great MLs (my bread and butter line) and even a bunch of Mafex that I picked up last year. Just a really great figure with a ton of fun factor and value - a very impressive showing from Jada.

@supreme_d Thanks! It's funny, I really misremembered EVERYONE'S original Player 2 colors. I hope they keep doin what they've been doing and mostly using signficantly different color alternatives for rereleases. I don't really need Cammy in green again with a purple had and socks, but any of the other color options would be fun like blue or purple. Same with Guile, a lighter green feels meh but gray or brown would be rad. Really hoping for a gray-skinned Dalsim - I always loved how ghostly he looked with that. I'd intentionally pick that look or Blanka's blue and light orange colors if they were an option. 

Looking at which characters have red or red/black combos that could become Target or BBTS exclusives.
