Have they said the timeframe? I'd love to complete these by end of next year. Other than Violent Ken and Evil Ryu, I'm in for the remaining 17 of these.
And yeah, a Mortal Kombat line by Jada would be so sweet.
Saw more Red Chunners at a Target that previously did not carry any Jada SF figures. I think I stumbled upon the rumored solid case pack of Red Chunners. They had 2 red Chunners on the shelves and no other SF figure which leads me to believe this was a solid case of 3x red Chunners and someone bought one. Seems the USF2 figures are getting a little more widespread.
@handsome Jun did say he thought we would get all of these by the end of next year. Delays are inevitable though.
Fantastic work Jada!!!!
Looks great seeing all the characters in the display and as others have said great work on getting to them all before flaming out.
Now as Leor said, bring on the SF1 characters!!!! SF1 and SF2 are in my wheelhouse. After that I had fallen off, but I would love to see Retsu, Geki, Lee, Gen, Birdie......hell just do them all please!!!!
@canprime I'd wager if there's a focus on any Alpha, you may just see quite a few SF1 characters soon. Definitely Gen, Adon, and Birdie at least. Maybe Eagle too. I want Geki, hope he comes with a head for Geki II should he ever happen.
Shin Akuma seems an obvious final variant to close out the roster.
Personally, I'd like to see Darkstalkers before they start branching out to more SF.
I’m going to get a little off topic because this probably belongs in the video game forum so bear with me. I would love for Capcom to do a remake of the first SF game. Similar to what happened with Mortal Kombat 1. Make all the original characters playable but still use the look and art style of the original game. Of course the controls, frame rate, and fighting system are updated to current SF game standards. It would be nice if they released it before they do SF7. Besides the original characters, they can include younger versions of SF characters from different SF games. Even new characters that were never in other SF games. All this just so SF1 can get action figures made of course.
@bronzeaged Darkstalkers and SF are different licenses and IPs, they should be done simultaneously. That being said, Lilith is one of my top 10 most wanted action figures of all time.
I’m not sure how feasible a whole Darkstalkers line at retail would be, but it’d be neat if they at least did Morrigan.
At retail, no. But on online retailers, a line of 18 unique characters(+1 reuse) where half are well liked and featured in crossovers, and the rest are fun interpretations of classic horror monsters, sounds like a quick and easy line-up that'd sell. Even if at a slow pace. It'd be a waste to get the license and not do more than just Morrigan.
I really hope the strategy of just getting all the main players out there pays off for Jada. I'm very much a casual SF fan - played the games just like anyone else, but it wasn't a big part of my childhood. I also don't collect a lot of lines, so I have no reason to pick these up aside from a real fondness for a lot of the designs. BUT, by putting the whole collection out there in such a short span of time, they've really got me tempted - knowing I can get a "complete" (to me) set without having to wade through years of bs releases really might tempt me to jump in. It's contrary to the way a lot of lines seem to run, and I really hope it works for them and results in good numbers.
Ironically enough, I did collect almost all of the SOTA releases back in the day (since sold off). For a very casual SF fan, I've always been drawn to the figures.
I think I read someone at SDCC asked Jada about MK and Juhn said it was out of their reach. Can someone confirm?
Jada has a lot of SF content to pull from at this point with all the games released. This is why I thought releasing the O17 in their most iconic looks first and foremost in a timely matter was a good strategy. Old school fans will recognize the looks and even casuals will recognize those looks and tempt them to buy. But now that the 017 are done, I think Jada can release characters from any SF game and not be tied down to just one specific game. The most iconic characters in their most iconic looks are done so there is a sense of relief and a certain loyalty to the line is gained at least to fans of my mindset. Although a wave can be a mix from SF3, Alpha, SF6, etc, I still believe they should anchor each wave with at least one Alister.

Juhn said the Mortal Kombat license is currently not available to them.
I would pick up the Alpha characters, I haven’t played much of the 4 and beyond games. Some of the designs from the various versions of 3 would be cool, but I don’t have the connection to the characters that I do SF2. Jada doing Tekken would be really cool, especially since Akuma is now part of that franchise as well. I think Darkstalkers would make awesome toys, so you might get a lot of people just by the cool factor, I just don’t know how much familiarity there is with the IP now.
That’s it!! It’s official! Jada has accomplished what no SF toy maker has done in this scale. Curse is broken!!
THEY'RE NOT ALL OUT YET OR IN OUR HANDS. DON'T JINX IT.
