The upcoming Marvel/Capcom compilation has me nostalgic for some of the more obscure variations, I can’t say that we NEED a Cyber Akuma or Mech Zangief, but I WANT THEM. I believe they were made as alternate skins in SF5, so that should get around any complicated rights issues.

Hoping to see news for Akuma/Gouki during SDCC. I don’t think I’ve heard any news about him from any of the recent interviews. Hoping he will have a regular release and a P2 color deluxe release later. And while not really from USF2, a rice ball accessory would be greatly appreciated.

I have not seen a single goddamned Street Fighter at retail at any of the four Targets I go, two of them have the tags, but none of them have the figures, if I ask an employee to scan the bar code they just say “are they not on the shelf?”

I just want my god forsaken Lunar New Year Chun-Li! Why is it so goddamned hard to find a figure so many people were like “eh, I’ll wait for the one with extra player 1 parts…”

Loving this line. Just set up a separate shelf for the figures currently released and anticipate this being the first SF line I complete since the original GI Joe set 30 years ago.

After they finish the original roster, I’d love to see some SF 3 characters. That’s always been my favorite installment of the series and the Ryu they made is actually more accurate to SF 3 than SF 2. From Alpha, I’d love if they hit some of the better “new” characters before going back and doing that Chun Li or Ryu.

Speaking of which, I still really hope they revisit Ryu and give him more game accurate colors. Pale skin, brown hair and brown gauntlets.

Found a lone Dhalsim at a local Walmart (Canada) today so of course I snagged him since he was the last one I was missing (that I wanted and not an exclusive).   However now that I have him I am eyeing the lone Fei Long at my closest Walmart even though I have no real attachment to him.   Guess I'm staring down the long road of completionist if I'm not careful.

I suggest you get that Fei Long. Even if you don’t have an attachment to him, you do have an attachment to SF2 or you wouldn’t collect anything from this line. What you do with your money is ultimately up to you of course, but here’s my reasoning. These are damn good figures for the price point. You already feel it since its making you look at characters you have no interest in. Each figure does not break the bank.  At the minimum, collect the original 17 because it will likely be a very long time for any other company to attempt it. Looking at you figuarts and Storm.  Even if you don’t like that character, supporting this current line that Jada is already committed to finishing which depends on fans supporting it, there will be a better chance to get to other SF game characters you may want later.  Like I said in an earlier post, this may be the “Super Powers” line for SF2 and years later when you look at them, you may be glad to have gotten the original 17 as a milestone.

@leor Everyone heard it here.   Leor is making me buy Fei Long.   So when I go out and get him I can blame Leor for making me buy him.   I have witnesses!!!!!  🤣

I'm pretty much 90% of the way there already.  I think I was using not getting Dhalsim as an excuse for not getting Fei Long, but yeah the line is both great and, relatively, cheap in today's market.   I'm glad the exclusives are hard to get up here otherwise I'm sure I would be in on them as well.   As of now I only kind of want the Red Chun-Li, but not going to worry if I don't get her.

I have to try and pretend like I can draw a line in the sand when it comes to buying toys.

I don’t think you’ll regret going down this rabbit hole. Fei Long himself, due to his design and lack of clothing restrictions, is one of if not the most poseable figures in the line. Plus the one at your Walmart is probably version 2 which better paint wise than version 1. And you can have him reenact the epic fight he had with Ryu in the original SF2 animated movie. It’s a win all the way around.

Does anyone know what the differences is between the version 2 and version 1 paint Jobs? I hadn't heard there was a difference.

There’s a few YouTube videos explaining the difference at length but the shorthand version is the new paint apps are more matte and cleaner. The wave 1 version 2 are from the new factory Jada is using. Personally, there is nothing wrong with version 1 and if that is what you have, it is good enough if the ones you own don’t have too may paint errors. I’d only recommend version 2 if you don’t mind having doubles of the same exact character in your collection.

Seems like Amazon proper finally got Dhalsim and Bison in for sale at regular retail of $24.99. A good time to grab them if your not having luck at Target.

I know I'm way late to the party, but I finally received Dhalsim last week. What an amazing figure! Can't say enough about the quality of Jada's output here. It is a shame that it didn't include the yoga flame blowing face and fire effect, too (this would be smart for a Player 2 reissue - certainly would entice someone like me, who isn't a big enough SF fan to need P2 alternates) but that's about my only complaint.

Looking forward to eventually getting M. Bison, who I have pre-ordered from Entertainment Earth.

Jada says SDCC preorders for Pink Chunners and VKen go live on the 25th at 9am. I’m assuming that’s 9am PST.
