I think as long as Jada doesn’t get too crazy with color variants, it will be fine. I understand the need to have 2 or 3 variants of the Alisters to help anchor each wave and maybe just one variant of everyone else below that mark. Also, SOTA only offered color variants with the pack ins all being identical. So far the different accessories coming with the Jada variants has something going for them to entice collectors to double dip. I was originally planning on only getting Ryu variants, but after seeing what Fei Long and Chun Li are coming with, we’ll Jada got me for those variants.
There were a couple exceptions to that SOTA pack in rule, the Green Vega was the only way to get his unmasked licking head for example.
SOTA did get way too crazy with the color variants and I hope Jada never goes that route. SOTA was also before ordering online was as common as it is now, so Jada are in a much better position in terms of longevity and not sinking themselves.
I really only hope that they only do one color variant per character and nothing more. If they ditched soft goods on Player 2's and just went plastic they'd have me hooked though.
Though I'm not crazy about variants I hope when they get to Killer Bee Cammy that they end up doing all the dolls as variants. Or Maybe just an accessory set for Juli and Juni so you can make them all buy buying more? I don't think I need their unique costumes because I can't see that being successful enough. Probably just Decapre.
You right. I was wondering why I was starting to have doubts after I typed that. There was also the rollerskates Cammy variant although she can be probably considered a new character like ERyu or VKen. I know I had all or almost all the SOTA variants back in the day but sold off most of them. I also had the black Gen which a fellow fwoosher here helped out a bunch of us to acquire back in the day since it was some exclusive to a Japanese toy store or something.
And thanks to everyone for reminding me about mix waves after USF2 was done. You’ll have to pardon my memory. I’m getting old. Lol. As for who I want to see in these mixed waves, any and all under the sun. That’s how I feel about this line.
Also concerning the Big 3 of SF. There’s probably a high chance that the 3 will have the most color variants out of anyone, but I’m hoping Jada will instead later focus more on specific game look variants rather than color swaps.
Like for Alpha, Chunners is obviously going to need a new sculpt and Ryu and Ken should also have new sculpts but maybe slightly smaller bodies. The same body can be used for Sean or SF1 Ryu and Ken later. I don’t think I need SF3 versions of the big 3 as their USF2 versions can pass for that. Though I do want a duffel bag accessory for Ryu. I’m getting confused about SF4 and 5 with their looks so I’m just wanting the Ken in black shirt and Hot Ryu. Maybe that version of Chunners in that alternate outfit that Storm Collectibles did. I’m all in for SF6 monk Ryu, conservatively dressed Chunners, and down on your luck Ken.
All I know is I need Lady Gaga Manon, lazy day onesie Juri, and hoodie Cammy asap. Get to it, Jada!

I hope with all the exclusive versions that they do a version of Vega with alternate arms so he can be on model to his classic design. THAT is the variant I want the most.
Weren’t the barrels in the bonus stage lit on fire? I seem to remember hitting those things the wrong way and getting set ablaze. Gonna need some fire effects for them barrels.
These might be impossible to find for MSRP, I found mine a few years ago, but these tech deck STREET HITS sets work great for it:
I drop little flip-switch LEDs in there for photos. Height-wise the barrel comes up to Ryu's thigh swivel if his legs are completely straight, so I can't say if they will scale well with the ones coming with Ken.
Does anyone with Chun Li Jada figure also collect Storm Collectibles? I don’t like the Storm Chun Li, I think she looks too bulky compared to how my nostalgia is for her and I wonder how well the Jada version will fit amongst a Storm SF display.
If anyone could take a picture, I’d be grateful. Or even just a text reply with your thoughts on how she looks! Thanks in advance!

New images came out of the new variants, Ken with white eyes, Fei with dark purple pants and Chun Li with pink dress. All have new accessories, new heads, new hands, even new weapons and effects. The images are on the facebook group, I can't seem to be able to post them from the phone.
Chun Li even comes with a smiling head for the P1 release... I'm gonna need her!
