I realize I'm not a diehard Street Fighter fan, but do people really like the 2P colors for characters?  Those always lingered in the SOTA days.

It feel like it's been about three a quarter so far? So it'll be like the end of next year when it's done.

Juhn's been very transparent about when these should hit and it's been fairly accurate.

If you're talking variants, maybe you're right.  But didn't Ryu land in July/August?  Chun-Li is out. And Ken is just starting to trickle out.  So 3 characters in 6 months.  They've revealed so many future characters, I find it hard to believe they'll all be out this year.   But maybe the rate of release will improve.  I'm not in a huge rush to get all the characters but revealing stuff so far in advance can backfire as it can create some impatience.

It's neat that Pink Chun-Li comes with a celebration head for Blue Chun.  Since the hands are interchangeable as well, she's more enticing.  I'd probably take the approach of posing the original colors all together in their winning poses, while variants will have their own shelves using the effect pieces in action poses.

Dang it. Guess I need Chun Li for that alternate head.

Although also so she can drive around in the rumored GI Joe Thunder Machine with the inevitable blue Blanka.

I wasn't referring to the variants in that projection.

I'm not saying I fully believe wave 4 will make it out this year, but I think Juhn is being fairly realistic with the release dates. No different than the dates we get from HasbroPulse, and I think they're doing better than NECA all things considered.

As far as SOTA goes, things were VERY different back then in terms of marketing and being a startup company in general. Jadatoys is in a much better position to make these happen.

I think as long as Jada doesn’t get too crazy with color variants, it will be fine. I understand the need to have 2 or 3 variants of the Alisters to help anchor each wave and maybe just one variant of everyone else below that mark. Also, SOTA only offered color variants with the pack ins all being identical. So far the different accessories coming with the Jada variants has something going for them to entice collectors to double dip. I was originally planning on only getting Ryu variants, but after seeing what Fei Long and Chun Li are coming with, we’ll Jada got me for those variants.

Also while he’s a color variant, Violent Ken is at least technically a distinct character on the roster.

I totally forgot the drum barrels are actually in Ken’s stage just like the Japanese wood signs are in Ryu’s. For some reason I thought Violent Ken’s barrels had to do with one of the bonus stages.

The barrels are doing double duty as the breakable barrels from the bonus stage. Barrel 5 pack to finish the team?

Anyhow, V. Ken being one of these exclusives just leaves USF2 with three deluxe figures, Balrog who could be either, and Akuma. Akuma will likely be Jada Next Level if he's a repaint with new heads.

So, maybe two characters post-USF2 will be announced this year. Who do you guys think will kick off the mixed line? I think of the first few, we'll get SF6 or SF4 Juri, Alpha Chun-Li, and Yun.

Weren’t the barrels in the bonus stage lit on fire?  I seem to remember hitting those things the wrong way and getting set ablaze. Gonna need some fire effects for them barrels.

Also, I thought were were going into purely Alpha after USF2 is done. I’m probably remembering that wrong.

Well, they said in the last interview that the line will be mixed between 2D era (Alpha and 3S) and 3D era (Mostly SF6 to start) and that the line will become less predictable.

Yeah the most recent word was it'd be mixed going forward. They probably wanted to just make sure they completed the USFII cast first since II is the most iconic entry and SOTA famously went under before they could complete that roster. Also probably why they wanted to make sure to get Dee Jay out quick.

Juri would be a no brainer. Sakura is also very popular so she’d make sense as the inaugural Alpha character. I could also see Luke.

If there’s someone from III I think it’ll be Yun or Ibuki, though Dudley would be a nice surprise.
