I remember Juhn being asked about the belt & hair paint problem in terms of their QC issues.
He did say there'll be something done about that with the later releases.
That's the big issue I had with Ryu, I did repaint it, but these are problems that will hopefully be resolved as the line goes on.
I don't mind the white wear on the black belt because those black belts really do wear and fade to white at stress points IRL in this way. I always imqgine Ryu's gi as well-worn from constant rigorous training.
What was the email sending process like? Did they take a long time to respond and send?
I'm going through the same situation with the belt peeling off...
Amazon has a page up for Ken, but only re-sellers so far.
Target has a page up for Ken as well but you may have to filter for out of stock items as he is not in stock yet. The only Jada SF toy that I ever saw go in stock at Target online was Chun Li. I think she lasted only a few hours in early December(?) and has not restocked since as far as I know. I’ve never seen Ryu or Fei Long go up but I have not been paying that much attention since I already acquired them.
At the rate these figures are being released, it's gonna be years before all the revealed figures come out.
It feel like it's been about three a quarter so far? So it'll be like the end of next year when it's done.At the rate these figures are being released, it's gonna be years before all the revealed figures come out.
Juhn's been very transparent about when these should hit and it's been fairly accurate.
I think some of the ones labeled “internet exclusive” were sold through BBTS. I remember getting a bunch through the CornerStoreComics website, and I think one other website like Toynk. I preferred the alternate colors over the originals in most cases, so most of my SOTA were from those sites since they had most of the different options available.
I fondly remember the first time I (my mom) ordered toys from the internet, I got a box of 9 or so SOTA SF figures for like $50 shipped. I also remember some time around then I convinced my mom to buy me and my siblings the whole set Marvel Legends Wave 9 so we could build the Galactus figure. Good times.
New interview of Juhn by Veebs. Some good nuggets. Bullet points:
* Wave 3 is in tooling so should be out by next summer, early Fall at the latest, with wave 4 at the end of the year most likely.
* This has been a lot of trial and error for them this year since they hadn't done a lot of articulated action figures like this before, but they've recently switched to a new factory with more figure experience and are hoping future waves will see all three figures shipped at once instead of piecemeal like we've been seeing.
* Sagat and Blanka are the first of the new deluxe price point that will be used for future large characters. It sounds like Sagat is coming with a Tiger Shot effect piece.
* They're looking at SDCC and NYCC as their two big blowouts in terms of reveals next year, so those should be interesting.
* Evil Ryu sold really well both at SDCC and online, so we'll see future exclusives like that.
* The 2P color variants are done to get "new" figures into rotation in between proper wave releases. They'll be doing more of those but are also toying with the idea of deluxe repaints that would be sold online and come with additional parts and accessories.
* Once they finish the 19 Ultra Street Fighter II characters, Juhn says he wants do more of the 2D sprite games (so Alpha and III) but also Street Fighter 6, and suggests future waves will be more of a mixture of classic and modern. While we all have a pretty good idea of who the next few releases will be, Juhn teases that it'll start being a little more unpredictable after USFII is done.
* They both note one of the good things is that across different games, some of the A-list characters have distinct redesigns that could be mined, specifically bringing up Alpha Chun-Li.
* While nothing is in active development right now, Juhn wants to explore other Capcom properties once they finish the Ultra Street Fighter II cast.
Great job, Veebs!
Sounds pretty good so far. I admit I’m a little nervous about a new factory being used for production at least when it comes to Street Fighter. I get that no toy line has perfect QC and Jada SF is no exception, but I liked what I was seeing overall. At least they mentioned the new factory has a lot more experience with toy production which actually should make it an older established factory. Hope the overall quality improves even more.
I doubt I will go all the way down the rabbit hole with color variants, but I will do it for Ryu. SF4 Evil Ryu and Kage would be nice alternates as well after USF2 is done.
I will gladly take all other SF games in mixed waves after USF2.

I don't think I would have been able to convince my mom to buy me any toy even if it meant saving my life
@miraclemen yeah I think I got lucky since it was like a Christmas gift that I said I’d share with my siblings. I cant remember exactly what I said, except for making an impassioned case for why I needed Nightcrawler (1 he’s my favorite and 2 my older light up sword version got lost when my little bro was at the hospital).
Did anyone else see those pics floating around the net of variant colors Chun Li, Fei Long, and Violent Ken? Are those real? Fei Long in purple pants plus nunchucks and and extra Ric Flair “Woo!” head. Pink outfit Chun Li with three extra heads, extra hands with the victory Yata! hand, and an extra kikoken accessory. Violent Ken with barrels? Well since I’m saving money from not buying McFarlane this year, I guess I’m going down the Jada SF variant rabbit hole. I wonder how much they cost and if they are exclusives……hopefully not.

They are more than likely Jada's Nextlevel exclusives they were talking about.
With Violent Ken most likely being this year's SDCC exclusive.
