I think some of you need to be careful about getting your hopes up for SNK, Darkstalkers, or Marvel vs. Capcom figures. Those would still be years away.

Just because Juhn says he wants to do them doesn't mean it's guaranteed. He made it pretty clear that the next game is Alpha and that it doesn't sound like mixed Street Fighter waves are gonna happen anytime soon.

So to put things in perspective here's the entire Alpha roster...

  • M. Bison
  • Guile
  • Charlie
  • Chun-Li
  • Sagat
  • Fei Long
  • DeeJay
  • Dan
  • Guy
  • R. Mika
  • Birdie
  • Akuma
  • Evil Ryu
  • Ryu
  • E. Honda
  • Cody
  • Karin
  • Vega
  • Blanka
  • Ken
  • Juli
  • Dhalsim
  • Sodom
  • Cammy
  • Adon
  • Zangief
  • Juni
  • Yun
  • T. Hawk
  • Rolento
  • Sakura
  • Gen
  • Balrog
  • Ingrid
  • Eagle
  • Rose
  • Maki

That's 37 figures just right there. A bunch of those aren't really necessary as their looks really didn't change between games, so I'd personally take out...

  • M. Bison
  • Guile
  • Sagat
  • Fei Long
  • DeeJay
  • Akuma
  • Evil Ryu
  • Ryu
  • E. Honda
  • Vega
  • Blanka
  • Ken
  • Dhalsim
  • Zangief
  • Yun (He belongs with SF3)
  • T. Hawk
  • Balrog

One could argue for Ryu, Ken, Sagat, and Vega but I'd personally skip them. These variants would be better served as exclusives.

That still leaves 20 figures to get through, here's mine ranked...

  1. Maki
  2. Rose
  3. Guy
  4. Cody (I prefer his classic look though)
  5. Rolento
  6. Sodom
  7. Cammy
  8. Juli
  9. Juni
  10. Charlie
  11. Dan
  12. Sakura
  13. Karin
  14. R. Mika
  15. Eagle
  16. Ingrid
  17. Chun-Li
  18. Adon
  19. Gen
  20. Birdie

That's still over two years worth of figures if we can only get three waves a year.

I'm not so sure about that, especially since going on a strict game by game basis isn't really how anyone else who has had the SF license has done things. Even the classic SOTA line started mixing in characters from Alpha and III before they ever got to close out the Super Street Fighter II cast.

At around an hour and a half in Juhn got a question asking about mixed waves, and he said his personal preference would be to do multiple games in tandem, even if they don't have the bandwith as a company for that right now. But he said he understands how complicated the situation is, because fans of certain characters or designs that came later would be stuck waiting a long time if they were to strictly follow the order of the games and not move on until they completed those rosters in full. He ends by saying they're absolutely gonna finish Ultra Street Fighter II first, but after that they'll see about possibly jumping around and cherry picking, which is what I honestly think is more likely than nothing but Alpha for the next 2-3 years.

I definitely hope they start mixing character selection up after they finish the USFII roster since if Alpha is next, that means I'm gonna be in for a loooooong wait for Ibuki. She's the one SF character I want more than anybody else.

I don't think they would make Akuma an exclusive. That'd be one of the stupidest damn choices on this planet. Violent Ken? Absolutely. Akuma, no. But six characters, two waves. We'll definitely be done with USFII reaaaal soon.

He said two games side by side in particular, which I'd totally be all for it he could pull it off. Alpha and III have a majority of the necessary newcomers and designs that people would want, and easily lead into IV and I's rosters, which would further lead into V/VI.

I wonder how they would do characters like Vega, Poison, Ryu, or Ken who have pretty much just a headswap between games. Maybe a head pack and/or package refresh? We'll see.

Blanka's head looks completely wrong. (Terrible.)

Blanka's style has changed a lot from version to version of Street Fighter.  Are you sure it's inaccurate to all of the versions?  I haven't seen that we even know yet which game that figure is supposed to be from.

Sure there have been a lot of versions, but this head also looks aesthetically bad.  I'd say that's the main problem.

Hell yea, Darkstalkers would be a holy grail for me. Storm collectibles just did the vampire guy and stopped. plus they have weird oversized scale issues.

I just want someone to make him with a jutting underjet jaw and pupil-less eyes, as in his in-game appearance in SF2. I love the Figuarts Blanka figure but his face is too human; want it more beastly.

Said it before and I'll say it again, if they can make good headway into SF, doing a full Darkstalkers roster would be a no brainer. That's 18 playable characters total, and two pack-ins. Lilith is a complete dream figure for me, so I desperately need her to get made.

Also all these sculpts are based off the SFII artwork, for better and for worse, but maybe we'll be able to get sprite-specific heads with a variant eventually.

If we're to nitpick though, they got Vega entirely wrong. If we go by any artwork before SFIV, his left arm should have the arm band and claw, and right arm have the tattoo. With the extra bulk, both hands being gloves, and fact that his body tattoo is correct, their reference was probably the SFV nostalgia costume facing the wrong way, with a head based on SFII artwork.

Possible they had it right and Capcom made them change it...

I'd be over the moon for any darkstalkers aside from Dimitri and Morrigan. While roster of interesting dudes and the "faces" of the franchise are the most boring.

SF wise gimmie Gen, Yun/Yang, Adon, Birdie, and Sodom.

If Alpha is next without any other game mix ins, then I’m fine with that as there are at least some Final Fight characters in there. However, after USF2 is complete, I would strongly hope mixing from other SF games happen at least one year after Alpha series has launched.

My Target has corrected the prices after two price cuts at $12.50 and $7.50.

Paulmart store just sent tracking info for my blue variant P2 Color Ryu. Look like he’s getting ready to ship which will add one more wave one  figure on the shelf before Ken shows up.

^^Nice.  I pre-ordered last week for the heck of it.  I love that color scheme and typically use in later games too if I can.  I wasn't counting on it until next year anyway so early is good.

Edit: Just logged in to my account saw it says paid and fulfilled.

I'm pretty sure last week my Paulmart order tracking was at "label created", now it's "pre-shipment".
