Oh, I hadn't seen that yet. Looks pretty damn good.
SHF. Bad call on the traffic cone skirt, but she looks good otherwise.
I made a list of all the 1:12 FromSoft figures, let me know if I missed anything:
• Hunter (Bloodborne) | Figma/Max Factory (#367)*
• Lady Maria (Bloodborne) | Figma/Max Factory (#536)
• Sekiro (Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice) | Figma/Max Factory (#483)
• Fluted Armor (Demon's Souls) | Figma/Max Factory (#590)
• The Maiden in Black (Demon's Souls) | Figma/Max Factory (#593)
• Raging Wolf (Elden Ring) | Figma/Max Factory (#???)
• Torrent (Elden Ring) | Figma/Max Factory (#???)
• Festering Fingerprint Vyke (Elden Ring) | S.H.Figuarts
• Malenia (Elden Ring) | S.H.Figuarts
And I'm not counting the Hunter Weapon Set (Bloodborne) from Figma Plus/Max Factory or the all-but-confirmed-to-be-canceled Black Knight (Dark Souls III) from Figma/FREEing (it was revealed 6 years ago).
Well, this guy turned out beautifully. If the paint is even close to this on the final figure, whew.
The Goodsmile shop exclusive is an Elden Ring stand. Has anyone ordered from them before? What are their shipping prices like?
@tsi I’ve ordered a few things from there and had a great experience every time.
I think shipping was generally in the $20-$26 range, but with the exchange rate and no sales tax, it was still cheaper than buying from an American site. They shipped everything out quickly and it all arrived fast too.
Thanks. They charged me just $8. As I was checking out, I figured it'd be about the same price as AmiAmi and it comes with the extra stand.
Ha, well maybe I was just way off. Do they offer different international shipping options? I guess I’m just thinking of Amiami’s usual DHL rate
@boy_wonder There is goodsmileshop (international) and goodsmileus. Goodsmile shop is sometimes cheaper and ships earlier but the shipping cost is higher (items ship from Japan). GoodsmileUS uses USPS and UPS and give you a 50% discount on shipping when making a pre-order. I find GoodSmileUS prices beat BBTS and most Japanese retailers.
The Raging Wolf looks really absolutely fantastic. And a rare case where a video game figure is made in a costume choice that I actually like. Makes me wish they were releasing a weapons pack with more of the iconic weapons from the game. I really would like to have this guy on the shelf, but I don't know if I want him 200+ CAD badly. Maybe this will be a 'view from afar' kind of figure.
My son is waffling on asking for this for his birthday, though. So who knows if we'll end up with it. I imagine it'll pre-sell out before I ever decide.
I finally got the Figma Raging Wolf in last week.
What a beautiful, frustrating figure. It's truly gorgeous on the shelf—so long as you keep it away from any figures that make it look as shrimpy as it is.
I have him in the classic Dark Souls sword-on-the shoulder pose with the Dark Moon Greatsword.
I'm growing increasingly more frustrated with several import brands, namely Bandai and Good Smile. Recent figures I've purchased from both companies have been over-engineered. It's death by overthinking it.
Getting skirt pieces and shoulder armor out of the way is a great idea, until you add 30 moving parts to a figure. The more moving parts you have, the more things that can go wrong. If Hasbro can figure out how to make a shoulder pad that doesn't hinder articulation, I can't understand why $120 imports can't.
I intended to leave this guy on my desk to pose around, but he's entirely too frustrating. I posed him and put him in the display case immediately. Action figures can be simple and super articulated at the same time.
