I'm a little surprised. Did the rest sell out like this? I ordered mine through BBTS, but I was considering waiting to find him in store or on sale. Glad I didn't.
No, the quantities must be much lower as Swoop and Gears sold out immediately. That's strange for Transformers.
I received the Autobot 5pk today from Pulse. I'm including it here because they make more sense to me as Studio Series repaints than Legacy figures. Anyway, it's been a while since I've handled some of these molds, and I had a tough time remembering some of the steps! Wheeljack gave me some stumbles, and I was surprised by how cool Trailbreaker was. Sunstreaker looks so much better in a matching yellow, but even despite being repaints/remolds, they still managed to mismatch the paint on Wheeljack's hands and the rest of his body. Hound is solid, but I kinda resent this figure for making me double up on so many characters. At least they're definite upgrades, at least to me. Looking forward to the inevitable Ratchet and Brawn death scene figures.
I'm such a f---ing chump...I thought Blaster was a Pulse exclusive & it was presold out, so I paid for my preorder, and it's on its way...and then I find tons at every Target I've gone to in the past week, and Transformers are 30% off.
And I just wanted the d@mn thing for the opaque Eject, and was gonna try to resell the Blaster with the translucent Eject stuck in the package. And now I have to try to resell it for the $38 I gave Pulse, instead of the $26 Target would've wanted, had I just f---ing waited. *sigh*
I picked up concept Shockwave from the Bumblebee movie. The tank mode is ok, really easy conversion. Robot mode is killer. He's a beefy dude. Grabbed on sale for 20.99 at Target.
Concept Rumble dropped into my PoL, fwiw.
I'm looking to sell Bumblebee Soundwave, though I'd like more than $21, as I paid more than that lol.
So Studio Series Movie 86 Not Really Bumblebee got delivered by Amazon this morning. Along with ML Astonishing Wolverine. Two yellow clad heroes in a box was actually a little fun to see. This Bumblebee is actually pretty cool on his own but just looking at him makes me think Hasbro might put a more accurate car version later in some two or five pack down the road. But despite that, at least I actually like this figure of Bumblebee. That Astonishing Wolverine is kinda a disappointment though.
BBTS sent me an email, Swoop coming in soon. Pretty stoked. Hope he's as good as he looks.
Just received SS TF86 Bumblebee. Some nice engineering to avoid the parts-forming of the Netflix version. The alt mode keeps a strong chibi/penny racer aesthetic. I don't have the Netflix or Buzzworthy Cybertronian figures handy to compare, but he seems even smaller than them and Earthrise Cliffjumper. My main gripe with this figure is that they painted the windows black instead of the blue that seems to be the direction of every other G1 Autobot lately. I'm sure a box set repaint is inevitable. I'm pleased with this, definitely a worthy upgrade.
I didn't even know it was a thing we were getting. Where'd you get him? Google looks like it's only Gamestop & some random third party sites I've never heard of? I don't love the dinky alt mode. I'll likely just stick with the Netflix version.
Of course, I REALLY want a Legacy "G1-styled" 2018 ("1987") version, lol. The blend of "Bayverse" & G1 just worked so well for me, I'd love a blockier toy of it.
Saw Bumblebee movie Shockwave in person and I had to get him. I just love Shockwave. I only have a handful of the figures from the beginning of the Bumblebee movie, but this is a cool figure. The light piping eye is cool. Shockwave always seems to get fantastic designs.
Ok that SS 86 Movie Optimus looks good to me and I do want it……but what is up with that price? Is this a Commander class rather than a Leader class? Is there something the figure comes with that are not in the current pics that justify that Commander price tag? I don’t think Roller and the current extras should boost the price no more than $10 past the standard Leader price. Also, I’m assuming the chest opens up to reveal the matrix. That feature should be standard on all Optimus toys at this level.
I bet the price is to just make more money off of an Optimus they see will buy no matter how much it cost because of the nostalgia. Like why there's a Mando or Boba Fett tax on alot of figures in SW. There really isn't much to justify it besides they know most people will pay it.
