Got a replacement Ratchet and both shoulders hold but are not super tight.  I notice the right fist on both took some force to plug the weapon in though.  Other than that no real issues for me.

I saw the Grimlock recolor at WM today. Since it's closed box I didn't see the actual figure, but uhh, I looked at his pics on the back. He looks ugly. Like really ugly. Definitely a head scratcher as to why they did those colors, unless he was actually in those colors at some point. But I don't remember it.

I also saw the 86 movie at Best Buy, in Steelbook, 4K remaster. I almost bought it, I was so close. But then I remembered how much I spent already the last couple weeks because of preorders and needing a new controller for my Xbox. That shit isn't cheap. So I passed for now. I may cave at some point though and go back for it.

The Grimlock is a reference to his unmade G2 figure from the wave that was going to also include Swoop and Sludge in G2 colors, but were cancelled due to poor sales of the G2 line.

Yeah, unproduced G2 color schemes is kind of the theme of the wave.  Hoping the unreleased black G2 Starscream gets a release at some point.  This assortment has the blue camo and we got the fan channel desert camo already.

I do VUDU for my 4K stuff mostly now.  Unless it's a personal favorite (like the Ferris Bueller release last month), I rarely buy physical anymore.  I think I got the 4K TF86 movie for $5 on sale.  However, we're physical collectors so I can understand if you want the actual set.  Having already purchased the DVD and standard BR, I just wanted a cheap option to watch in the best quality.

I prefer physical copies, especially if there's a good looking steelbook. The internet may not always be available and I don't want to be a slave to it and the whims of any of these digital version companies. I like to have digital copies so I if I'm at a friend's place we could watch it without me having to bring the disc over, but if something happens and the internet goes out, which happens from time to time for whatever reason, I can just use my physical copy if I really wanna watch it. Same reason I buy physical versions of comics instead of using any of the comic apps. Plus the feel of the paper in my hands is also nice. And being able to see the artwork alot more clearly. Maybe I'm weird, I unno, but I always preferred physical media, for basically everything.

@trunks3540 You're not weird, I get you.  That's why I still buy my favorites physically.  I like that 4K gives you a digital code too.  I'm mostly like Agent K from MIB rebuying the White Album over and over.  I have DVD, and BR copies still of most of the digital 4K I own.  I share with my parents but they refuse to upgrade to BR!  Heck in the case of Ferris Bueller I still have an old VHS somewhere!  Haven't really been sold on Steelbooks mainly because Amazon or other online vendors tend to dent the hell out of them during the packing process.

Bought Mirage a few weeks back but ended up returning him before I opened him.  Reviews made him look like a kibbly mess because of Porsche wanting to maintain the look of the vehicle mode.  I was kind of indifferent to the film.  Entertained me which is all I wanted but it reminded me more a Bay TF film.  Still I like Mirage and want the figure.  What say you all?

I loved the movie. It's my favorite of the lot. But I have a spot in my heart for Beast Wars. There were things I didn't like, but all in all the movie was awesome. I was actually debating on buying a mirage at some point cause I thought he was really well done in the film. I'm not a huge fan of Pete Davidson, but he's not terrible. And he did a good job with the voice. But if the figure is garbage I'll probably skip it. Was there a recent Mirage in Legacy or any other line that is closer to his comic version? Or maybe just a better mold? I was waiting for the bike Prowl to get a version of him because it's my favorite iteration of that character, and I can wait for Mirage if there's a better one on the way or out already somewhere I like.

Yknow something funny about Prowl, my other figure of him is the T2 Owl red and black version, and I also really love that figure, but I don't like owls. After seeing the 4th kind owls creep me out. I absolutely can see the creep factor. But I still love that Prowl figure.

Also, Wheeljack in the RotB movie. Why was he a hippee van? Wasn't Wheeljack always a sports car of sorts? That kind of annoyed me. One of the few things wrong with the new movie. No Rattrap and Cheetors voices were the other issues I had. Cheetor sounded too old and gruff (for the 2 lines he had), and Rattrap being one of the og 4 and being MIA is kinda odd.

Wheeljack was part of the Bay vibe I was feeling.  Kind of Mirage too.  Bay would just randomly assign names to characters at times.  I saw nothing of Wheeljack in that character.  I guess the car mode of Mirage made me see Jazz.  I thought the Beast characters were underutilized too.  They deserved their own movie.  I wanted Rattrap also.  Didn't Mirage say "We're all gonna die?"

I guess if I see SS Mirage on sale I'll grab him.  Earthrise Mirage is my default display Mirage now.  I just bought the Legacy Animated Prowl even though I never watched that series and love it.  My main display is a shelf each for 84/85 G1, movie/86 G1, BW and now "alternate" reality series so UT, Animated, Prime, RID get some display space now.

Finally picked up WfC Megatron.  Can't decide if this is my favorite Megatron over the original cartoon version or not, but it is the only other design I've ever liked.  I loved the 1st version from WfC back in the day even though I never played the game and this new one, of course, blows that one away.

@trunks3540 I feel you.  I just paid off all my credit cards and am trying to not go overboard but some items just show up I want to get before I lose the opportunity.  It's nice to have an emergency card to throw down in those situations but I don't want to get too fast and loose with it!

They had 1 left, so I bought it. Now it can sit on my shelf of unwatched movies that I've had sitting there for like 3 years. I'll probably watch it sooner then the rest, but I just haven't been in a movie mood.

I just rewatched the 86 movie. I forgot how weird it was. The story pacing was odd. And it felt like just a long 80s animated music video. The animation was still pretty good considering. It wasn't anything super amazing by today's standards, but it wasn't terrible like some old shows. I was especially surprised that they swore a couple times. And that they killed off basically everyone people liked. But I read that it was a lead up to the new time period and new team, and they basically were making an hour and a half long toy commercial for their new stuff coming out. The Dinobots had more screen time then I remembered too. But it was like 30 years ago when I saw it last so my memory of it wasn't great. And I like how Snarl was actually only in it when they did screw ups in the animation. Like he wasn't supposed to be there, but the animators forgot what they were doing and added him in a couple blink and you'll miss it scenes. Also, Hasbro really doesn't have an excuse on the weapon front, by not giving the SS Dinobots both swords and guns. There was basically 1 shot through the whole movie where they were in robot mode to begin with, and only 2 of them had guns, Swoop and Grimlock. So there's no excuse to add the other weapons besides cost cutting. I didn't even see Grimlocks gun on his back in dino mode. They didn't draw it.

It did however give me a better appreciation for Hot Rod and Kup. Also Leonard Nimoy being Galvatron was fantastic.

I also remember something, maybe it was back on the old boards before they died, about everyone liking and wanting Coronation Starscream. But uhh, that whole scene with him like that, Coronation and all, was like 5 minutes tops. And he got fried after he got crowned anyway lol. That wouldn't be on my short list for figures from the movie. I may have to try and track down that Rodimus Prime now if he's not super expensive though.

Not sure best thread to discuss this, but I recently started buying Transformers, and I just became aware of the retro carded Headmasters by finding some at my local Ollies. I found 3 so far (Mindwipe, Chromedome, and Brainstorm). Hoping to find the others but no dice so far.

HeadMasters are the single-greatest concept to have ever existed in toydom.  It's just so damned ridiculous you have to adore it.  "Oh, ho; there's the call to battle!  Time to rip my fucking head off!"  Every action figure from every toyline should be a HeadMaster.
