For me, and I’m suspecting a few others , Buzzaw will be the draw for this set. After him, only Windcharger will be left to complete G1 series 1.
So they got me double dipping on Earthrise Netflix Soundwave again. Gonna get that G1 Legacy Prime because I think that looks cool. The rest I will pass. I was almost tempted by that 3 pack because of Coscmos Gobot but I will wait for hopefully a true reissue of G1 Cosmos. I’ll maybe get that 3 pack if it goes on sale in a year or two if still available.
Buzzsaw was not enough to get me to bite on Soundwave. I thought for sure he'd at least come with some sculpted tapes that would convince me to buy him again.
So happy to see Soundwave! I missed out on the Earthrise version. I was so close to overpaying on eBay many times. Glad I waited. And getting Buzzsaw, too is a nice perk.
Deluxe Optimus looks very fun. Preordered that one, too. And the Gobots set since I missed Cosmos. And Quake since I always liked him.
@akatsuki I sold my Netflix Soundwave for a nice sum awhile ago so this is nice to see and probably pick up. Still having trouble with the Leader class price/designation but I'll probably cave anyway. Especially since he seems to be moving fairly quickly on most sites.
Been meaning to ask this but did core Frenzy get released? I had him on preorder on EE but they bumped his date to January 2025. I’ve been keeping my eye out for him at Target but have not seen any signs at all. Gonna need him to complete Earthrise Soundwave’s original G1 crew now that Buzzaw is coming.
Haha Buzzsaw is the ONLY reason to buy that set. Good luck.
From the latest batch, I POed Quake, Soundwave, and Optimus. That little deluxe scale Missing Link is a surprise. Still would have bought the Missing Links as they are the right size. No ragerts. Also ordered the GoBots 3pk.
People on TFW have pointed out that this blue cassetticon is the blue toy version, which makes this "Frenzy" (as it should be, RiRFiB). 😜
@normdapito I'm buying this Soundwave because he doesn't turn into a spaceship

Not if you don’t use your imagination
🤣
Hit up the nearby Gamestop on a Target grocery run and scored. Got Vector Prime and Cybertron Hot Shot. It's 2005 all over again! I got into adult toy (as in collecting toys as an adult not, anyway) collecting in 2005 at nearly 30 and Cybertron was the show at the time. I initially got most of the mains and Vector was my favorite of the series. I had my Cybertron stuff stored at my Dad's house and the new annoying kid he got with his current future ex-wife got into the boxes and mixed things up. When he moved he had a yard sale and I put out some boxes for sale without looking and sure enough Vector ended up in a sale box. This new one fits the bill for me. More collector friendly in form, no gimmicks to compromise anything. It works. I never had this Hot Shot but he's chunky like those old figures were. Feels just right for that older line.
Now that Core class figures are done I wonder if there is some way to still get us the Minicons. The old ones really weren't that bad. I still have the main cast Minicons (green racecar, blue SUV and helicopter) from Cybertron. I'd be cool with just a Pulse exclusive multipack of just some of the old figures if Hasbro still has the molds. They opened the door with the Armada Hot Shot redeco with one. I guess they can just sell us recolors of Vector Prime and both Starscreams with their Minicons.
Got some fun Transformers— The Breakdown and Windsweeper set and the comic Shockwave.
Windsweeper is super nostalgic. I had the original figure. And this update is great reusing the fun Needlenose mold. Breakdown is very cool. I liked the character in Transformers Animated. He’s big and bulky but had good range and some fun weapons.
Comic art Shockwave looks great. He’s one of my favorite characters. And this is such a a great mold. I probably prefer the original figure’s darker purple colors and awesome light piping eye. But this version looks cool, and is very nice to have. It’s certainly a strikingly different looking version of Shockwave.
