If I remember, the easy version is you just pop the legs off, then take out the tiny screws on the back of the groin area and switcheroo. I'm no customizer so I did this method. There are complaints that the tabs don't quite line up/connect in bug mode, but I'm so used to tabs not fitting with this line I figure it's a small price to pay for a better look. There are more involved switches I haven't really looked into, including the legs, arms and opening the chest compartment. I 1st discovered it here:

Talk about it starts at post #39.
I'm sure there is better info out there, but I'm lazy 😀Â
I didn't know Silverbolt was up for preorder. He looks really good. Definitely gonna get him. Makes sense they made him a bigger one. I think he may be a little too big, but with how they did the wings and the mold I get it.
Yeah my Silverbolt order has already shipped. Â Looking forward to it!

I missed out on the new Target set preorder. It’s a pretty cool looking set. The big draw for me is the original toy packaging design for Tarantulas—I loved that art back in the day and the photos of what the figure was going to look like.  The rest of the set looks cool, too.Â
Got the new Core Cheetor yday from BBTS and he's decent enough in both forms except that his cat mode apparenly requires his hindarms and thighs to be plugged secure to the body such his 4 limbs can't move at the major body-connection point. I have to assume this idiocy is there only to add steps/complexity to his TFing so he's not basically 'stand him up and flip his cat head over his back', but it's wholly ass-stupid.
However, I can tell I'll buy a few more of him to try making better dedicated figures for both modes.
This is the first Beast Machines figure re-do since the original line, no?

One of the Generations Cheetors I believe had a similar look to the BM version. It wasn't spot on though, sort of a fusion of the BM and BW s1 looks. But I may be misremembering.

Found Origin Wheeljack in a very busted box. Last one. Took him home and he’s all intact. It’s cool that Bumblebee fits inside but now I gotta find a place for Bee’s jetpack and pistol. Cool that the energy rods can clip onto Wheeljack as well.
Found Thundertron at Target during the 30% off sale! Very cool figure for this price. He’s a fun concept—a space pirate Transformer whose robot mode looks like a lion from Zoids. Robot mode has a lot of personality. And lion mode has a ton of poseability for a lion if you don’t peg in the front legs.Â
I have the old one and it's still a solid figure. But I do plan on getting the new one if I see it in store or on sale online. I really like the concept of him as well. Very cool figure.Â
Snagged the new Core Megatron at Target yday, he's okay.
I just can't get into the core ones. They look nifty for the price, but after having the big versions with some of the bells and whistles (especially after getting the 3rd party weapons), the core ones feel lacking. The only core I bought was Rattrap, cause thats probably the only one that makes sense for me to get. He's a little small compared to how he should be, but he's still decent and fits well.
Received Sandstorm and Gears during the crash. Both are so good, I couldn't put them down for a week after getting them. Sandstorm has so much going on with three transformations, but they're all so fluid and make lots of sense. I really enjoy every mode. Gears is just a great, compact, little bot. Filled out in each mode, both looking very satisfying. I hope the eventual Swerve comes out as well, and can't wait for an announcement for Windcharger/Tailgate, Powerglide, Seaspray.
I saw Silverbolt in Target the other day but his paint was a little chipped. So I'll wait on my preorder. He did look good otherwise though. Also saw Thundertron. Really like the design of him. I'll end up getting him at some point too.
So I found a well painted Silverbolt at Target this time, so I nabbed him and cancelled my bbts preorder. His robot mode is pretty fun. I really like it. His wings are a bit small. And his feather swords attach rather dumb. But otherwise robot mode is cool.
Beast mode is...worse? It's not bad. It's just worse then robot mode. There are a couple things that bother me. Like all of the Beast mode legs attach to the sides of the body. So you're not supposed to really move them. Why? They would function perfectly fine free floating. His talons do not close, they are one solid static open piece. Could've been made to close easily, just like the old ones. And his body is too long. On most birds, and by extension Silverbolt in the show and the old figure, the tail feathers should come off the back and protrude. It helps with flight. His are shorter then his butt. Which makes them all but useless in beast mode, if he were a real robot/bird. It's because his body is too long with the way they transform his hind legs into robot arms. I'm hoping someone makes an upgrade kit for him that maybe gives him a longer back to make the tail feathers stick out farthur. The plate they are attached to looks easy enough to remove. Just pop it off and pop the new one on. The wings also come off easy, so an upgrade with larger wings, that don't look kind of weird without the sword feathers attached would be cool. And maybe closable talons.
Honestly, they could've straight up just redesigned the older figure slightly to make the back flip down and gave him posable wings and it probably would've been fine. This one still transforms easy, but doesn't transform how it does in the show. The old toy basically does. All in all I like him. He's not disappointing like Waspinator or Inferno were. But I wouldn't consider him my favorite redu. Presently that's a tie between Tigerhawk and Dragon Megatron. Those 2 figures are fantastic. Blackarachnia and Airazor are up there too.
So...anyone here want the Earthrise Soundwave reissue, but not Buzzsaw? Because I already blew $38 on opaque Eject, I really can't afford to drop almost $60 on a gold bird cassette... 😰Â
