Seekers are a good bet. I think Soundwave is a good candidate, since most of his articulation already functions this way. Not sure what other upgrades could fit in though.
The Seekers are one of the most interesting to me because of the hands. Personally, I would like Hound as one of the earliest autobot cars because mine is very loose and I never picked up a reissue.

Yeah that might be the issue with a Soundwave.
He is already pretty good so what more articulation could they add that would be worth the extra cost? I guess new hands like Prime, maybe torso/waist articulation. Head articulation. Knee articulation. Shoulder articulation. Well I guess they could do more, but not sure I would see it being worth whatever price they would ask, much like I feel about Prime.

Those hands could definitely be a challenge. They're basically gloves. I don't know how they would get integrated into the transformation at all without being separate parts. Most other PoA seem doable, elbows, knees, hips, even ankles. But get one done, and that's three potential characters right there.
I'm sure they could engineer a way to fold the hands into the forearms on Starscream. Soundwave would be an instant buy for me. I'm sure a ton of articulation could be added in. I amazed at what they did with Prime, I bet Soundwave could be just as impressive. Hound is one of my favorite Autobots, but I feel like he's too small and bulky to have the added articulation make a difference, but what do I know. I'd love some Dinobots in this line.

There was a short lived line about 20 years back that tried to do something similar (though nowhere near as faithful to the OG design as the Missing Link figures are), and did manage to incorporate Starscream's forearms/hands into the figure without parts-forming I think. But yes, it's going to take some creative engineering to match the level of accuracy of Prime and the minibots.
I finally decided to get a retro Hound from Walmart.com while it's $14.97. I add 40th Blaster at $20 to get within $.03 of free shipping. A pack of dental floss puts me over the top. I never had Blaster as a kid, but now I'm going to have three different reissues.
Grabbed the anime colors Bombshell/Ramhorn set from the Walmart Collector Con. It's already in stock, so shipping soon!

Someone found it on the shelf locally (Ottawa, Canada) today. I like seeing reissues again, but the cartoon colours kind of throw me off so I haven't picked up ones I already have (Blaster, Soundwave, Starscream). I prefer the toy look for the retro reissues.
I want to get the Prime, but here in Canada is is $108Cdn (plus tax). I just can't justify almost $125Cdn after tax for the it. I'll wait and see if it drops in price, like every other reissue in the past 5 years. Then I might get one.
I managed to get an order in for Optimus long before this collector event. Even was delivered in like two days of ordering.
I can’t bring myself to get that retro cartoon colored Prime. I’d get it at $40 or $50, but I think that $75 is asking too much. This is literally the same mold they used for past reissues right?

Yep just in cartoon colours.
While perusing the local Ross store after work, I came across a G1 reissue of Skywarp from the Transformers 86 animated movie. I know the G1 seekers have been reissued in the past but I never got any of them because the price for a retro always bugged me. Well since Skywarp is my favorite seeker and Ross was selling him for only $9.99… why the hell not. Look to your Ross if you are interested in this guy. Didn’t we any other g1 reissues though.
I was just at a Ross on Wednesday
it was a disaster area
only had the Beast Wars Transformers
It's currently on sale for $52, I also had a Walmart giftcard sitting around, so I had to bite.
