As a voracious child of Transformers in the 80s and early 90s, it is one of the few lines I've resisted collecting again. I own zero, and I want to get a Transformer for my collection.

I'm thinking about just getting this Optimus, and I see Chosen Prime has Pre-Order for the "Final Version". Any opinions?

@nightwolf The size is why I picked it. Expensive is relative.

I don't know anything about Lewin, but that Optimus is based on the Takara MP-10, Masterpiece Optimus Prime. That was the go-to mold for YEARS until MP-44 came out, with a more anime aesthetic. If they didn't change anything other than scaling it up nearly 3x, it would be an excellent centerpiece as a single Transformers purchase. There was another around that height available (I think it was even officially licensed, not third or fourth party) but it didn't transform. This one does. And to me, that's the whole point. If this was your only TF purchase, aside from QC issues from Lewin, I don't think you can go wrong. MP-10 is still in my main display.

@normdapito At this price point it has to Transform (basically the whole point). Fit and finish, QC, materials is what I'm looking for more info without reading through transformer forums for days.

Hopefully someone with first hand experience can chime in.
