Bought the deluxe figure from Target. First Thundercats figure I’ve bought, despite wanting one since the Mattel days. The cheaper price tag lured me in.

I am very disappointed in Lion-o. Too pale, articulation feels limited, stuck joints everywhere, mostly lacks texture/sculpted detail, can’t move the arms flat against his sides. Compared to the $20 Thunderpunch He-man I bought earlier this year, Lion-o is lacking in every way.

So I just watched Veebs monthly interview with Brian and he mentioned to keep an eye out on November 30th for something new with Thundercats.   He didn't get too specific but did heavily hint that it will be a new line.   Also he alluded to the idea that it will be ready to go when revealed and is not something that has been seen yet.  Is this the new MOTU x Thundercats line possibly?   If so how is Super7, or Mattel, involved?

Could it be another line completely?

Guess we'll know on November 30th.

I'm wondering if maybe it will be a 5" vintage style line?    Super7 has been delving into the 5" world again with their Danzig figures and some Conan figures I know.     I know Funko did their retro 5" 6 poa figures a handful of years ago...  but I could see Super7 trying to mine that vein.

I'm going to irrationally hold out hope that it's an Ultimates/Deluxe adjacent line for the 2011 series -  because I'd be much more interested in something like that.

There was already a 5" or MotU scale line of Thundercats, I believe Funko was the manufacturer. They were really brittle, I remember the legs breaking off, happened to my Panthro. Super7 also did a 5" line that was sort of a direct homage to the original MotU line, of Filmation sculpts on the original MotU style bodies. The "As Seen On TV" line. They could be doing that with T-cats, but again, a line in that scale and style exists.

I mean... I literally said that in my post -  I referenced the Funko line directly.   But it's hard to imagine what other figure space they could enter for Thundercats -  they already do ReAction,  they already do Ultimates and now the ratcheted down "Deluxe".    What sort of line could they launch that would be new and different?

As I said - my hope this is an announcement they will branch into the 2011 cartoon which will allow them to revisit the main cast in new iterations and explore some different side characters that allow for a little more reuse (the other Tiger claim members).

But I guess we have two weeks to speculate before we will know for sure

@panthercult I still have the 6" Panthro and Mumm-Ra from the 2011 line.   I had most of the line in general because they got clearanced so badly it was easy and cheap (even up here in Canada).    I still love the Thunder Tank from the show and toy line, but I got rid of everything for a reason so I don't know if I would be down for a new 6" line.   Especially at Super7 prices.

However I do think if they did do the 2011 characters they would be pretty faithful to the cartoon designs and those designs are pretty great overall.

I am kind of hoping for an Origins adjacent line, preferably done by Mattel rather than Super7.   However I don't know that Brian would be talking about another company's line when trying to promote his toys.

Honestly it's got me curious.    Mattel is already doing the Thundercats/MOTU crossover line in the 5 inch scale - which should be pretty fun.   So a separate 5" Thundercats line might be extraneous.

Maybe they are letting Super7 do Ultimates versions of that?   Nah...   they'd probably just do it themselves in Masterverse.

If it's O-ring figures well that's something I can completely ignore and save money on, so probably not the worst thing in the world.

Yeah I am not looking for O-ring Thundercats figures so if that were the case I would pass.   Thundercats is one of those lines that I just find is a better fit with a muscular buck for the figures and O-ring doesn't fit that idea, at least in my mind.

If super 7 wants my money, they’ll do a dedicated 4.5” line of thundercats. Kind of a love letter to the vintage TOYS!! (Animated looks can be repaints and sold again)

maybe in Kenner super powers style with 7 pts of articulation.

🤤

exact or near replica of the original Ljn  toy package.

Please dont make them like 25 or 30 dollars each FFs.

12-15 bucks each and I’ll buy everything.
twice.

you just know they’d scale down that thunder tank to sell it again.

and think of how well a 4.5” line would go with the cats lair!!!

The smaller tank would  be just big enough to fit under the paw…hmm

🤤 🤤 🤤

Do you even know what company you are talking about?   This wish is the most laughable thing I've seen on this site in awhile.    The MSRP on their 5 POA  3.8 inch tall Reaction figures is $20.    You think they are charging less than that for something bigger with more articulation?   hilarious.

good lord…I didn’t get the memo…

chuckle it up, I guess.
🤷

It’s very clear that I’m not as familiar as you are with all of super 7’s pricing structures.

nor am I 100%familiar with all the products they offer.

is there a handbook or a guide I should read before I make imaginary wish lists for my thundercats toys?

If you feel so strongly disgusted isn’t there an option to ignore me or simply not respond?

And to answer your question, no I don’t think they -will- but they certainly-could- charge less. Is there really any harm in suggesting it?

I'm sorry -  I legitimately thought it was humorous, because it was naive.    I apologize if you read it as hostile.   I definitely wasn't "disgusted" and don't even feel "strongly".

I am very familiar with Super7 as a business and their current business model,  which is why I feel confident that releasing a 4.5" line of figures with more than 5 points of articulation at a $12-$15 price point is entirely unrealistic.    Heck - even Mattel is charging more than that for their Origins line now and they are a bigger company operating at different scale.

Of course there is no harm in suggesting they sell something for a lower price.    There is no harm in suggesting that Honda should sell the Accord for $20,000 again like they did in 2010.    It's equally unrealistic - but there's no harm in putting it out there.

We do wish list a lot here.    So I hope you get the Thundercats product line you want.   Unfortunately, it sounds like even if they made the product you are asking for,  you probably wouldn't buy it because they will charge more than you want them to.
