LOL.... I have to be a little bit thankful that I just don't have the space for large playsets so I don't angst about having to pass. I didn't get Classics Snake Mountain, I didn't order the Thundertank, I didn't order Origins Eternia, I didn't order Cat's Lair - not because I don't want them but because there is literally nowhere to put them. It's saved me a ton of money I otherwise would have stupidly spent.
I just recently sold everything. For space and... because of Brian Flynn.
Listen, I'm a kid of the 80s and 90s. I love all of the properties from that timeframe, including Thundercats.
...but I don't 60 bucks a figure love Thundercats, ya know? Especially when the quality just isn't there. Once I got behind on key figures, and then the Tank, and now the Lair...I realized it was time to let go.
I can understand letting go and selling things. I've been letting go of more and more the past few years from other things I collected and just keeping a smaller, more focused on collection on the stuff I really like. Thundercats is one of the properties I plan on sticking with, but even then I don't plan on buying everything. I'll pass on the 3 reptilian mutants and Mandora's electro-charger (but not Mandora).
I can also understand the space concern. The more I'm thinking about this cat's lair the more I'm thinking I'll have to put aside a lot of space for it.
BTW for those who are collecting Super 7 Ultimates, have you kept the boxes? I was looking the other day on how much space they occupy and am thinking about throwing away the plastic inserts, bagging the accessories, and breaking the boxes down for easier storage/smaller space. I did this with other things I collect, the only problem is if you ever change your mind and decide to sell them it's better to be able to put them in MIB condition. I don't plan on selling these, but who knows what will happen in the future.
Yeah... I don't love the price of Ultimates - but I do love the properties and Thundercats is one I'll stick with (there are only a few of those. I'm in on Sliverhawks, Tiger Sharks and would be in on Blackstar and/or Thundarr).
But, for both price and space reasons I just skipped the Thunder Tank and Cat's Lair. I don't have room for them and dropping over $1,000 for two gigantic pieces of plastic that my current space couldn't accommodate would just be insane.
I'm under no illusions that the Ultimates ride won't come to an end - and sooner rather than later, really - but I'd rather keep backing it in the hopes I can extend it's life just a little longer and get just that one extra character or two.
Thunder Cats is one of the very few lines that I want to look like the cartoon.
I normally like modern interpretations of animated IP that heavily relies on the original source material but updates the aesthetics and sculpting. Like Neca's Goliath, Masterverse New Eternia or Classifieds.
I loved that cartoon so much, it is the only way I can justify the cost. That and the fact Super7 is a small California based company that I ASSUME pays its employees a good wage. I live in CT and business here is EXSPENSIVE.
If NECA got the TCats IP, or another company made very nice 1:12 figures, there is a fair chance I would sell off my Super7 collection as well.

For Thundercats Ultimates, I'll be happy if they finish what they have shown plus the remaining Lunateks and Snarfer. They could also maybe finish the Berserkers, although if I had to make a choice it would be Lunateks over Berserkers.
There are other characters I would like to have, I think I'd be quite content with the collection if I got these.
I was wondering if they ever branch out into the 2011 series if I would buy them or not. I do like the 2011 series, but I don't know if it's something I really need to own and display.
Need AT LEAST a Ro-Bear Berbil 2 - Pack before the end of days

I've thought about this too - and my conclusion was that I don't really want or need the main cast in their looks from the 2011 cartoon - but I really like alot of the supporting characters that were shown - Leo, Claudus, Panthera, Dobo, Tygus, Caspian, Javan, Horus.... on and on.
I wouldn't mind a sort of "Classicized" version of those cool supporting characters from the 2011 cartoon to expand the Thundercats mythos. I'm sure that's a bridge too far and certainly they wouldn't make those characters without making the main characters again. But I wouldn't mind if Ultimates took a MOTUC approach and just folded all the iterations into a single aesthetic figure style.
I also hope they go back and do a season 1 version of Hammerhand. He was a favorite, but only in that look.
Saw this over on He-Man.Org so thought I would share here:

Yeah, I already got the shipping notice for Ghost Jaga - he should be here any time. It feels like it's been a really long time since I added any new Thundercats to the display. And since I didn't order the Reptilians - it looks like the Glow-Cheetara will be next at the end of the year.
Received Ghost Jaga...
Really nice figure! Very happy with how he turned out.
Also, it's been a while since I received a ThunderCat, so...YAY!
There was an interview with Brian at "We want more Thundercats" youtube channel:
Some of the things mentioned:
* They mentioned that the mailer box and covers aren't on newer ultimates figures to cut costs.
* Seems Berbil(s) will be on the way, but not in Wave 10.
* I think they mentioned they have planned out to wave 14 or 15 on Thundercats.
* Josh at Super7 is interested in Top Spinner coming out, so maybe he'll be in one of the next waves.
I'll admit that I'll be shocked if this line makes it to wave 14 or 15. Not disappointed, but surprised for sure. They've only solicited through Wave 9 so far. Wave 15 is six more waves in the future. Since Wave 9 won't be in hands until July of 2024 at the earliest that has to put Wave 15 at something like January 2026 for an anticipated delivery date...
If we really get that far my Thundercats display will be way more robust than I expected it to be.

In the interview I think Brian was planning wave 14/15 on a 2025 timeframe and he's probably talking soliciting, not in hand, so your estimate of wave 15 in 2026 is probably not that far off. If they do some more toy versions it's also probably easier to make some waves. He did mention the next wave has no toy figures.
It will be interesting to see how far they can go with the line. I think this may be one of the lines they have the best shot at because even though it's more niche than other properties there is no competition for them. I think with the prices, sometimes quality issues, limited articulation, etc they are having a harder time competing with other lines.
Despite those flaws/negatives, I really do enjoy these Thundercats figures and hope these waves will be made and satisfy some of the characters I'm looking for.
