So layoffs at Super7... I can't imagine the company sticking around much longer honestly. I doubt there'll be many 2003 figures that happen after wave 2.

I hope we get more, 2003 is my favourite TMNT show, but if this is to be the end then I hope we can get at least one more wave featuring April, Baxter, Hun, and Karai. That would at least cover most of the major characters from the show (if they could make it a five figure final wave add in Agent Bishop as well).

I Spoke to Kyle Wodyga on Instagram about this subject. Kyle was the lead designer on these figures but was unfortunately let go during this round of layoffs. In our conversations he said that the line had been shepherded off to the right group of people so that particular branch of TMNT figs is still in good hands. But he also said that should the opportunity present itself to come back and work as a consultant or advisor on the 2003 brand for future assortments, he'd be happy to help.

Thanks for the update. Sad to hear that Kyle was laid off but what he said at least sounds promising for the line continuing (for now anyway). Hopefully he’ll get to come back as a consultan

Just had the following email from Super7

To Our Valued Super7 Supporters,

Last week was really hard.

As you may have heard, we had to make the difficult decision to let team members go. These are people who were doing the best work in the industry, none of whom deserved to be let go. I want to be clear that this reduction in staff is a direct result of the tariffs applied to our industry. The preceding six months before the tariff announcement had been Super7’s best since the inception of the company nearly 24 years ago. Then the landscape changed overnight.

Make no mistake, the tariff is a tax on American companies and the American consumer. The people who lost their jobs last week were Americans across 16 different states. The 145% tariff effectively shut our business down, bringing new inventory leaving the factory to zero, compounded by massive tariffs on pre-order product already on the water headed to consumers. This week’s change in tariff to 30%, is still a massive increase to this industry that requires significant change to work within.

So what does that mean for Super7? Well, it means we need to be smaller and focus on the core of our business while being very specific about what we make. This allows Super7 to be safe for the future and continue to deliver the awesome product we are known for.

We still believe in the joy that making toys brings to all of us. We believe that the future will be better, and we look forward to continuing to deliver on that joy for the future. We hope to see you there with us.

Well. The super articulated 2K2 figures have been out for at least a month, and it's sad to see this thread barely register it. It's a bummer that the last blip caused so many of us to change our habits and stop coming here to chat. I would have loved to bash these weird toys along with y'all.

Because they're weird. They're very on model, but they have barely any sculpting beyond shapes, and just don't look that fun.. There was a time I wanted them to take this articulation scheme and apply it to the vintage inspired turtles, but my interest in the line has dwindled down to nil, and it seems pretty unlikely that S7 will continue it on much further.
