That makes me so sad, it makes me laugh uncontrollably. 🤣

Todd McFarlane was also resistant to adding more articulation on aesthetic grounds. The irony becomes that now that he's accepted the direction the industry is moving and started adding in more articulation, he's worse at integrating that articulation in an aesthetically pleasing manner than most other companies in the collector-toy space. I think the Knightfall Batman is probably the best mass retail Batman we've ever gotten, but those gaps in the elbow bend are unfortunate.

Anyways, I imagine it'll be a similar situation with these Ultimates. I hope I'm proven wrong cause 03 was my Turtles show growing up, and I doubt anyone else will make figures now, but I don't have a lot of confidence in Super7

Heaven forfend.    I'm not a huge turtles guy anyway.  The two figures from this line I have pre-ordered are Karai, mostly because I really want a female ninja figure in this scale.    I'm hoping it's not a total disaster,  but I know who I'm dealing with here.

The other is the Rat King.   I was the one guy who was actually really stoked with the new look Rat King they orginally debuted - but apparently all the turtles fans hated it and so it got adapted.   Luckily they included the head I liked anyway -  but I'll probably have to slice off a couple of the sculpted on vermin pieces to have the figure I actually want.

After that I'm probably done with this line altogether.

They’re adding double jointed elbows but taking the joints out of the knees, them’s the breaks folks!

McFarlane figures have a lot of the same issues as Super7, but I'm much more forgiving because they're like half the price.

EE added Super7 dates to their dropzone and June 20th has the lyrics of "the song of the sewer" as the hint (nice deep pull there EE) so probably 2003 turtles that day

June 20th must be it because Brian's date of June 13 is here and there's no turtles to be found.

They just announced Thundercats AND a Toxie Ultimate, seems like there would be more of a gap before they show anything else new.  Though... I guess doing both of those so close together kind of kills that theory!

@detrimental-fig I think part of the issue is that the cartoon and toyline for 2003 changed the head shapes around

@detrimental-fig the facial proportions seem out of whack. Eyes too big relative to the head size. And the necks are pretty scrawny. Not terrible, just…meh.

The more I scrutinize that pic, the more I am completely certain those are cartoon-based, and not toy-based.

Oh for sure, I don't ever remember the toys being chinny-chin-chin like that. Though that then makes Brian's weird comments about -why- they're doing double joints on the figures even more out of place. 😛
