Also noticed a confirmation in NECA's FAQ that the outside walls are unfinished, which seems really shortsighted.
I wasn't planning on getting one, even if they'd been super-cheap, but if I did, it'd go on a shelf and the unfinished plastic on both sides would be an eyesore.
There's nothing more to be said about the ridiculousness of the sewer play set. My NECA Turtles are displayed with my vintage Playmates sewer play set........it looks fantastic!
I'm more disappointed with the toon accessory set. A $20 up charge on the rerelease because why? It's popular? $75 out of pocket after taxes and fees. Pass.
There's some Hasbro-style shenanigans going on with this pricing.

That doesn't seem so bad now, you really do get a lot of things here!
That's a great break down even if it isn't accurate, but it does put it into perspective because if you were to ever 3D print it, it would cost roughly the same minus the finished molded quality.
@yojoebro82 I think it's the same price as Target, no? $60 is what I paid back when it came out. Unless you're referring to the added cost of buying through NECA and, yeah, that's probably going to hurt as they're shipping is all over the place now.

I never saw it in stores, but I heard retail was $40.....maybe I was wrong.
It was definitely $60, as that's why I didn't buy it.
Toon April is up now in the UK. Really happy to see her get a wider release.
Think this may finish the toon collection for me 😀

That's how I feel. I don't need much more. I'm interested in that giant Krang, if the price isn't too outrageous. And I'd probably pick up Lord Dregg. But beyond that there's not much that can tempt me.
I'm certainly "getting there" when it comes to the toon line. I'm basically just out for the memorable and somewhat silly at this point since almost all of the characters I want have been released. I'm on the fence with the big Krang. On one hand, I see it as a pretty nice set piece and a capper of sorts for the line, but on the other it is pretty damn big and not something I need. I don't believe for a second it will be priced like the quarter scale turtles either. They're $125 and the same mold while Krang will be all new and looks to be bigger too. If It's under $200 I'll be surprised, and if the living room is any indication...
NECA has a drop coming at Target the last Friday of the month. If we get any toon figures in that drop, I'm betting it will be Usagi, Business Casey, and the Mike and Don two-pack in funny outfits. Considering its proximity to Halloween, it also would make sense to see one of (or both) of the new Universal Monster figures. I don't know if I really want any of it. I might grab Casey and stick him in my Channel 6 display like he's an intern or something. I don't know that I need the adventure turtles or whatever NECA is calling them and I definitely am all set with my lone Usagi.
I want all that they are offering still, I am far from done with this line and I think it has a bright future as there are so many characters and good variants still yet to be released. There's probably still another 150 figures left on my Fred Wolf Cartoon TMNT wish list, so long may this line continue!
150?! I don't even think I could name another 150 characters from the show! That is truly impressive and would probably the most epic collection imaginable if you had them with all the playsets/dioramas/vehicles/etc.
Honestly, whilst I'm pretty much done (though I can think of a few things that would tempt me), I think the line has a bright future and I'm very curious to see where NECA goes with these "in the style of" figures like Space Adventure Don & Samurai Adventure Mikey.
Plus, on a selfish note, I need the OT line to keep going whilst they're pumping out Mirage figures so quickly! I couldn't afford it if they switched toons and did 2003 now!
Ordered my sewer lair...cause I know I'll forget next week. I regret nothing!

Yes, we are only part of the way through building the Fred Wolf TMNT universe. We still have more vehicles, figures and dioramas to go! I can see this line going for another 10 years or so for sure. It is NECA's most popular line as for many people, TMNT is the Fred Wolf show. It's certainly what allowed TMNT to skyrocket in popularity and helped support a large Playmates toyline back in the day.

Yes, I have mine ordered now too as the quality and aesthetic is incredible and I don't want to risk missing out on it, as you know that once that door slams shut, this thing is going to for for $500+ on the aftermarket.
The kitchen and Donatello's lab are very likely to be on their way and those look great too, so this living room will work perfectly with those two rooms, and hopefully we get even more rooms in the future, such as the training dojo, bedroom and perhaps a long corridor style room with a river going down the middle of it that we saw many times in the show, now that would be cool!
Yes, it is a tad overpriced, but not by much, particularly when you break down everything that you get included. You get many chunky accessories with it for example, this is far from just an empty shoe box. Also, the size of this room is very large, 25 inches wide is impressive in scale.
I will admit that I bought a lair and the accessories pack. I was at a chick-fil-a with my small rowdy kids without the wife when I remembered this was going up the first day of release. For some reason I didn’t realize it had a window. Missing out on some of the target preorders recently had me jumpy and I was distracted by the kiddos. I blindly paid up. I was thinking of getting 2 but hadn’t fully decided and just ran though the order with 1 of each. Later when I went to look at pictures etc more throughly I couldn’t believe what I had paid for the set.
I will admit that it still would have been a struggle not to go in, but I would have definitely thought about it long and hard. I am not getting a second one. This is absolutely overpriced and the post about this costing more than Castle Greyskull and Snake Mountain is a very good point. This is absurd. I agree with several points that have been made but I wanted to add one more.
My fear now that I’m in even if by accident, is this may hurt the rest of the lair releases. That would be a huge disappointment for all this who went in willingly. I also fear the price of the remaining sets. Hopefully they will be reasonably priced and then rerelease the living room set for those that may want a second chance. And I absolutely want to see them tackle a technodrome or technodrome-like display. I just hate they are probably going to make that dream disappear with low orders on this. I wish they would have priced this better.
