I feel like last year's summer thing was something Target wanted because the Mutant Mayhem movie was coming out. It wasn't labeled a Haulathon, at any rate. But haven't they been doing both spring and fall Haulathons for a while now?
Yeah I think the fall one is called Fall Geek Out or something like that.
I just want to be able to easily give NECA my money for more Archie Turtles figures, and that don't mean waking up at 6AM like some kind of heathen to buy them from Target. My local Target never got a real Haulathon this year either, the NECA section is just a metric shit-ton of Gargoyles Angela and reject McFarlanes, and has been for months, so getting the Archie figures in store is also out of the question. I used to have 2 local Targets, but one of them shut down after Christmas due to rampant theft, and of course that was the only one that the NECA rep gave two shits about.
Hopefully the Wrestling Turtles and the single figures that are on the way will be easier to get than any of the toon stuff. I got lucky last year and was able to snag all 4 Archie releases at MSRP, so here's hoping my luck holds out. I would love it if they just made all the new stuff pre-orderable at BBTS, or hell, even at Target or Amazon, as long as they make enough available that they don't sell out in a matter of minutes. I would even pay NECA's shipping rates to ensure that I can get them guaranteed.
What annoyed me about this year’s Haulathon stuff was that it was put on the most random endcap. Like the back of the pool accessories aisle. Then at the other Target, it was in the aisle across from Wrestling figures. There’s no consistency on where to look. I missed stuff often.

I don't think there's any reason to think the Wrestling Turtles won't be available everywhere. None of the Archie stuff is Target exclusive thus far. Only the toon stuff is, which is why it's always been more difficult to find. Sometimes they ship the stuff to Target first for these events, and don't allow pre-orders elsewhere until a couple months later, and I guess the Mirage 4-pack wasn't available anywhere else (though we do have word from a podcast that they're doing individual releases of those which I'm sure will be), but I wouldn't worry yet.
The wrestling turtles are being issued as a four-pack and they're already in Target's system. Likely it will be Target exclusive this year, and if the demand is there, NECA will do an order on their website as they did for the Mirage four-pack. The Mirage four-pack is a NECA Store/Target exclusive with no plans to be offered elsewhere. Instead, the turtles will be broken up into single releases for specialty stores this year which will presumable be available for preorder at the usual spots. I would not be surprised if the Archie wrestling turtles follow the same model, though since they are variants NECA may want to see what the initial response is before committing to anything beyond the four-pack. All of the single release figures should be made available to order as well from other websites, they'll just likely be first released at either Target or Walmart and some have already been found in the inventory system.
I already overpaid for the Lawson set when NECA put it up for PO in December, but am such a whore for new accessories, so do you think the individuals will be "everywhere" like the rest of the Mirage/Last Ronin/Archie stuff?
My biggest issue with exclusives is it's always "BUY IT NOW OR MISS OUT FOREVER" which always hurts financially. I love unpaid preorders far ahead of time (and dislike when companies *cough*Hasbro*cough* surprise us with early in stock drops - YOU SAID I HAD A YEAR TO SAVE UP FOR FOUR WAVES, AND YOU DROPPED THEM ALL THREE WEEKS LATER, HOW CAN ANYONE NOT RICH AFFORD THAT!? 🤣).
I don't remember seeing any Archie figures outside of Target so far. That's guys like Man Ray and Jaguawar? Yeah, just Target. Maybe online specialty?
I've only bought mine at Targets (though, Fred helped me get Slash early from Ali), but haven't they all been available via BBTS, et al?

Slash has been in Walmart stores for a while. Not sure about the others.

I mean, what is "outside of Target" if you're not counting online shops? Wal-Mart? They've been available on BBTS and EE and all the usual suspects.
It’s possible I didn’t pay any heed to the online specialty retailers because I got what I needed already from Target.

I got two sets of that, but now am annoyed singles will be released. If they end up coming with more things I will definitely be pissed. I remember NECA released improved singles of the TMNT movie figures and when I responded, the dick Randy said my benefit was getting them early. At this point, it's safe to assume nothing NECA releases is ever sacred expect a few random things that for whatever reason they can or won't ever rerelease. As for them being everywhere, I don't know, but it should follow suit with other Mirage figures. Mirage Casey is everywhere, but Splinter and maybe even Zog are kind of hard to find.
Splinter just went back in stock at EE. I just ordered an extra.
@normdapito You scared the crap out of me...I was like "THERE'S AN ARCHIE SPLINTER ORDERABLE RIGHT NOW!?" 😆
