The Rattlor is a thing of beauty. What a wild toy. I'm thinking of unloading my ToG stuff as it's just not doing it for me, but I might have to pick that guy up because he's got some real shelf presence.

Seriously, that thing is a beast! It’s funny how varied the designs can be in this line, from bland and uninspiring like Beast Man or Man-At-Arms, to completely off-the-wall and gnarly like Rattlor or Mer-Man.

I got Stupid Sexy Splinter in yesterday and he's a fine addition. Who knew a buffed out Splinter would work for a toyline? While I do think a lot of the new stuff shown this week looks cool, I don't know how much of it I'll actually get. I felt Shredder was a bit on the bland side, so I've been hoping for something more exciting, but where the hell am I putting a big snake Shredder? I'll have to ruminate on that one a bit.

I like that Splinter so I ordered one.  And I like that Shredder and the new Turtles they showed at SDCC.  So now I'm looking at Merman and Mossman and wondering if I'm SOL on those.  Any insights, folks who got in on these right away?

Yeah let me just throw my voice in on loving that Rattlor. Holy shit Mattel is coming up with some incredible monster designs for this line. That Foot Soldier/King Hsss too, wow!  You really start to see how far Playmates has fallen when you see the creativity and size and colors and design work for these Turtles of Grayskull figures.  And this wasn't even a line that impressed me when they revealed the first wave...but now? Damn!

I'm a little annoyed at how much I like some of these second versions of the turtles over the first as I don't want to go much deeper on this line than I already have. The new Raph looks way better to me, as does the new Donnie. I'm okay with the first versions of Leo (minus the crappy the sword) and Mikey though. This line sure seems like it's been a homerun for Mattel though so I wonder if they'll try to stretch it even further or if they're hoping for the MOTU x Thundercats line to sort of take the baton and run with it.

The reveals were enough to tip me.  Now I'm scrambling to decide which of these figures I do and don't like, and how I can get what appear to be the most desirable ones that I've already missed.  Sigh.  This damned hobby. 🙂

@cmoney ha. Same thing happened to me when they revealed Merman. I didn't have quite as much to catch up on but I knew when they showed that figure that I had no choice.

He seems to be the big one on the aftermarket especially.  Was he exclusive somewhere?  And I suppose these things don't ever get stock refreshes either.

Splinter was a shocker with how good he looks; I'm very tempted to have him drop the robe and do some dry-brushing on his fur.  Seems like a waste to hide that bod!

I almost always wash my toys but sometimes I can't wait for them to dry before having a little fun:

Anyone who's finding pegs full of Krang wanna help me out? 😕

Hey, I pre-ordered two a while back that are supposed to ship mid-August.  I'll tag you on this thread if and when they arrive, if you don't find one by then I'll get you for cost + shipping.

Yeah, he was a Walmart exclusive that had a very limited release, like a lot of their exclusives.

@cmoney Walmart exclusives were Merman, Moss Man, and Krang. Leatherhead is coming and you should still be able to pre-order.

Target exclusives were Mousejaw, Splinter, and Sla'Ker. 2-Bopsteady is coming soon. That set of 4 has the Metal-Boto BAF. Target exclusives have been easy to find online.

Thanks, guys!  I already ordered Splinter and found a Mousejaw for under cost.  Leatherhead and Krang are not so much for me design-wise, but Merman and Mossman are gonna end up being the ones that got away it appears.  Still trying to find Sla'ker closer to cost and I'll worry about Bobsteady when he's actually out.

@cmoney I'll check my Walmarts for Moss Man and Merman for you. They were sitting on a few not long ago but I haven't really checked in a while.

I’m looking for a Mer-Man too, if there’s more than one!
