Ooooh. 🤩

Those have a very 2003 toon style to them. I LOVE that Rocksteady as well.

I saw a comment somewhere that seemed to indicate these new ones were from Memory Toys, or whatever they've changed their name to now (Mety Toys or something?).  Guess we'll find out.

Stupid question time: how do they do the mid-torso jointage against the whole-torso backshell?

@adrienveidt there's no cut in the rear shell. It connects to the figure around the shoulder blade area so the abdomen can rotate freely while the shell stays in place. The shell will rotate with any movement in the upper part of the torso.

Gracias, Misfit.  I've not gotten an actual Turtle in my hand in quite a long while, it seems.  I'm too finicky with how I want them to be while the bad guys don't need to be as 'right' to work for me.

The Joy Toy figures I ordered from Amazon arrived today. They're pretty nice. But I don't think I'll expand on the line. They are all well constructed, well sculpted, well painted, well accessorized. The price isn't fantastic, but they are packed.

Each comes with two sets of weapons (one with effects permanently attached, one standard), eight sets of hands (open pair, fist pair, wide grip and narrow grip pairs), a Turtle Comm, a slice of pizza (not all the same mold), a Cheapskate with wheel color matching the turtle, a quarter of a connecting manhole cover display base, a single stand. Don comes with one extra accessory, a wrench. I don't know why they come with two sets of grip hands other than for Raphael to grip his sai around the horizontal, which defeats the purpose of the weapon anyway. They each come with identical sets of hands.

Articulation is as follows: barbell neck, torso, wrists, swivel hinge elbows and ankles, ball socket hips, thigh cuts, double knees. All of it is functional and gets nice range. The ab hinge is exactly as Misfit described it. They do pose really well.

One oddity about the sculpt is the chest straps wrap around the torso, under the shell! It really should wrap around the shell. They have some removable straps and armor and weapon pouches, but of all things to be permanently sculpted, it's the chest strap. The weapon holsters on Leo and Don are sculpted to look bolted to their shells! Again, very weird and painful choice. Mike and Raph have some other weird metal parts bolted to their backs instead. Mike has no holsters for his nunchucks, but a chain hangs from that metal part where the nunchucks could theoretically thread through, but it looks sloppy. This is my least favorite aspect of these figures.

Also, I don't love that the peg on the skateboards is in the front of the deck rather than the rear. Just makes for odd posing. That's a minor nit.

They're a nice set of figures, stylistic choices aside. I would only recommend them to the most hardcore TMNT fans, or those who are dedicated to 1:18 scale, though I think these figures lean tall for 1:18. I didn't have any handy to compare them to except the recent Super7 ReAction+ GI Joe figures. And those are particularly small compared to modern 1:18 that usually has some size creep.

Mine are in the states and have left the NYC area. Hopefully they'll make it here by the weekend.

These posts are making me anxious for 5k to get their allotment in. I think they look awesome from the images and videos I've been able to track down. The stuff with the belts doesn't bother me as I see that as just Joy Toy trying to put their own spin on the designs. Plus it should help some with articulation, and it's not unprecedented for the belts to not continue around the shell. For whatever reason, cartoon Slash had a belt that did that which NECA captured on the updated figure.

Got my figures delivered when I was at work last night. Opened them this morning and am enjoying them so far.

Like Norm, I might not get more from this line, but having the brothers on their own is fine with me.

I got mine as I leaving for work yesterday, opened them last night.

echoing previous statements I don’t think this is a line I’ll be going too deep into, I’m still in for Bebop and Rocksteady but these figures are exactly good enough I don’t regret buying them, but also not impressive enough I feel the need to start buying a non-NECA Turts line.

The only other 1/18 scale humanoids I have are the Eagle Force Bruno Bros and the Turtles are Bay Movie sized next to them, will be interesting to see if Shredder (and an eventual Casey and April?) scale more in line with other 1/18 humans or if these are just going to be “big”

they look great next to the 1/18th scale Creative Beast and Hammond Collection dinosaurs though and that’s the whole reason I wanted these! I wasn’t keen on any of the rider designs but liked some of the Cyberzoic armors, so as long they’re not too big to sit on those they do the job!

I missed this yesterday and, of course, Shredder is gone. I guess keep an eye out for other places making Shredder and the Foot available:

I got my Turtles from LT Cave, and they still have Shredder available for just under $40:
