@reefer-shark yeah I’m hoping they do too. I’ve got some of them of course but after RotS I fell off collecting the scale and missed a lot of those characters. Even straight rereleases of some of them would go a long way. Major ones, like Greedo is, deserve a redo. Hammerhead, Ponda Boba, and Dr, Evisan are a couple I’d say need new figures.
Really impressed by the execution on this. I've spent a lot over the years on tables and chairs for dios, so this plus the alcoves and bar seems quite fair to me. Wuher and the Tonnikas look great, hopefully we'll hit those other tiers too.
Is it too much to want an updated Death Star playset?
I'm going to have a hard time deciding on the regular or deluxe version. I feel like the extra wall will obstruct the display, but I also don't want to regret not getting it. Like has been mentioned, I'll consider a second set if all stretch goals are met.
I think this looks pretty cool. IMO, it's a much better value than the Ghost Rider car was.
You have to figure you're going to be paying more for a HasLab because it's an extremely limited production run. You must also consider that most HasLabs are instantly rare collectibles that pretty much double in value as soon as they ship. So you could order two of them and basically pay for them both by selling one of them. Thus effectively getting one for free.
@captaincracker Thanks man, I really appreciate that! If I have any 1/6 you would be interested in, I would definitely hook you up with a great deal.
I have no idea if you have anything I'd want, but whenever you decide to sell stuff, let me know and I'll get you my email address.
Ok time to get back on the horse....Here we go:
TVC Cantina (first update):
3,152 / 8,000 39.40% of funding goal with 30d 19h left.
Thankfully, for me, this is not a Haslab I am interested in getting. I like it, but I am not that involved in TVC that I want a static playset, especially at this size. Maybe it if was some kind of military base it might be different (or Death Star playset).
Either way I hope this funds, and all ties get unlocked. While I keep my wallet closed until the Classified Haslab.
Also interesting is the funding period. It looks like the different brand teams are communicating and working out release windows for Haslabs. The Cantina is barely over 30 days for funding instead of the usual 45 days. So I guess the delay in the reveal meant they had to eat the extra funding days so that the Classified Haslab, which is going to be revealed at SDCC, can start on a specific day. It should be interesting to see how this does in the shortened funding period. Should be interesting to analyze the numbers after and wonder "what if" the funding period was longer (the usual 45 days).
@shootingthegalaxy Great work as always. These shots really do give off the vibes of being the actual film rather than a toy playset.
Question. For the third pic with Arleil Schous were you tempted to try and enhance the eyes? The shot is great, and very accurate to the shot in the film. I just kind of think the eyes get lost in the darkness a bit.
Anyway a small question from someone with less than novice level skill in photography.
Thanks for the great work you do, especially on the Classified brand. So many great shots of so many great figures.
@shootingthegalaxy Ah true I forgot about that. All it takes is one person to start complaining and then you get the headache of unrealistic expectations.
Love your work!!
Next update....
TVC Cantina:
3,667 / 8,000 (+515) 45.84% of funding goal with 29d 17h left.
Good start. Almost half way there in less than 48 hours. It will be interesting to see how this plays out during the middle portion of the funding period since it is a shorter than usual time frame for a Haslab.
@canprime as always, thanks for the funding reports. I came to this thread today specifically to see if you were continuing the trend! I appreciate it!
Thanks for the kind words.
Here you go:
TVC Cantina:
3,914 / 8,000 (+247) 48.93% of funding goal with 28d 18h left.
Almost half way there. Should cross that threshold sometime today.
@canprime how is this doing compared to other Haslabs? I guess I’ve gotten used to the 24 hour funding of GI Joe Haslabs so I’m not sure if this is pacing close to other Haslab opening days or if it’s off to a slow start?
Were the dimensions of this revealed? I couldn't find it on the page. Obviously, I have a long time to go if this even funds but I'm thinking of getting a glass top coffee coffee table to display this in. I figured I could start looking for a deal on one.
