Man, so all that stuff you mentioned is supposed to be in the US?
Ki Adi, Droideka, EPIII Sidious, Super Battle Droid, and even The Acolyte Wave?
That is nuts. Sidious, SBD, and The Acolyte Wave weren't supposed to be until October. I really hate how NOT CORRECT Hasbro is on all their Pre order Arrival times. Cause we end up just getting flooded. I love all the stuff I get from Hasbro (Marvel Legends, GI Joe, and of course Black Series), but I don't like paying for 10 or so products, per line, each month.
I used to just not pre order some stuff and pick it up at my leisure over time. But since Hasbro has had such bad sales, thus are now making less quantity, it seems like some stuff sells out quicker than it used to. So, I just pre order and am unfortunately at Hasbro's mercy so i don't miss anything.
All that complaining aside, I am psyched for all this stuff. Ki Adi is my most anticipated, I have wanted EPIII Sidious since the line began, and I love getting Jedi, and the Acolyte wave is full of them.
To be fair, I don't know when they're actually shipping out. Sometimes things can arrive to their US warehouse and still sit for a couple months. We all know Hasbro kinda does their own thing. I think YakFace only mentioned Jecki from the Acolyte wave as having arrived, so she might still be held until the others start getting there. But they did mention that Palpy, SBD, and others were arriving, and I think those were due more for July-ish (at least that's what it says on my Amazon order). I'd love to have the Acolyte figures when the series is actually airing, but I know that may not entirely be feasible (though we did get some Ahsoka figures toward the end of that airing, so you never know).
I agree, Hasbro has really been keeping me on my toes for pre-orders. I used to pre-order everything, and then everything I pre-ordered eventually went on deep sale. So I eased up on pre-orders, and then I stopped finding everything for sale later on, so I started up again. Now it's kinda in the middle, or, in the weird case of Ki-Adi, no pre-order at all, so who knows how easy or hard to find he'll be later on. Part of me, at least with the Acolyte wave, is wanting to wait until I see a few episodes to see how important each character is or how popular, but part of me (that devilish collector side) is telling me to err on the side of caution, just in case. At the very least, they're cool looking Jedi figures, and I'm always down for that. The only ones I've really seen pegwarming lately are Mando, Vader, and a couple Cad Bane and Pyke Soldiers. A few Hera here and there, but then she sells through. My neck of the woods never really has many pegwarmers for long
Yeah, I never really want to re-litigate the quality of the ST again, but from a Black Series perspective, it's so strange they didn't at least round out the leads. Poor Oscar Isaac deserves one functional face print at least; they did him dirty. And no old man Lando feels a little disrespectful to Billy Dee (though seeing Billy Dee pegwarm in a lot of places hurts, so I get why he wasn't a high priority).
I occasionally wonder if a strong entry into the animated series territory from that era would make a difference (TCW did so much to make the prequels better, right?) but the entire sequel era feels mishandled to the point I could see them abandoning it and only looking backward (a la the Acolyte). Honestly, I always thought the smartest thing they could've done is stopped at ROTJ and then jumped backward a thousand years or whatever, go full KOTOR, but who knows.
@chrislyne Y'know, I'm not desperate for ST figures but they really have completely abandoned that era, haven't they. I always wanted at least an EIX Poe if nothing else.
Just RoS Poe and Finn PLEASE
Yeah, I'd take archive versions of TFA or TLJ but I really want TROS Finn and Poe, they were the best looks for the characters.
Yeah, they really did give up on ST figures. But I guess they figured they wouldn't sell well. I wish they'd do a few more. Just one at a time here and there.
I'd love to finish the Knights of Ren, get EPIX Poe, Finn, and Rey with her Yellow Saber. And Ben Solo, Palpatine, Jedi Training Flashback Leia and Luke, and old man Lando.
Yeah, I get they weren't the best sellers and don't see them going deep. But, like you say, one here and there, "safe" characters like the legacy heroes, Palpatine, Ben, etc.
Rey with that yellow lightsaber (and Leia's lightsaber ideally) is just such an easy re-release I'm amazed we haven't had it yet.
Lando would be reeeeeeeally nice to have alongside the ST Han, Leia, Luke, and Chewie though.
I do not need any more Palpatine figures, but they got me with that Sidious and... I know already I'd be VERY tempted by a ROS Emperor. Putting aside all the plot gymnastics and (what I saw as) lazy writing, he looked awesome in that movie at least.
Lando, Palpatine and Ben are figures I just can't believe haven't happened yet. Regardless of feelings on the movies themselves, people love those characters and actors. I need updated Luke (ideally Crait not just Archive) and Leia with face printing though, the originals look so bad next to the updated Han.
If there anywhere left to get Ki Adi Mundi, or is he sold out everywhere now? Did anyone ever see him on Amazon, or at GameStop, Target, or Walmart?
I never saw him on Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, etc. And he does seem to be sold out on BBTS, EE, etc. But I have to imagine eventually he will go up on Hasbro Pulse. The other figure from his Wave, the Phase I Clone Trooper is on Pulse. So, I don't see why Ki Adi wouldn't be too.
I had a PO at EE and have a PO at BBTS for Ki Adi Mundi. EE was going to charge $10 for shipping just one figure, while I could put the same figure into my Pile of Loot, so I canceled EE. But I've gotten no movement at BBTS even though some have received theirs. Granted, I ordered a little late. I really hope it gets fulfilled, and the ETA isn't months off for a restock or something. I would REALLY hate to miss out on him, being one of my favorite Prequel Jedi designs.
I'll echo the lack of ST love. It's just odd to me that heavy hitters like yellow lightsaber Rey, Ben, Palpatine, etc. weren't released (the first 2 of which could be almost straight re-use). Even other big potential sellers like Crait Luke. I'd have loved a TROS Poe and Finn, and it's odd that they never re-released the updated Hux anywhere else (though I'm glad they gave him a second go in the first place). I could've sworn that Jedi Training Luke and Leia from TROS were pipelined at some point, but now I can't find anything on that, so probably just one of those rumors or misrememberings that lingered for whatever reason. And the fact that TVC got one more Knight of Ren (arguably my favorite design), but they didn't bring it over to TBS for whatever reason was such a bummer.
Another bummer is the lack of ST aliens. Not counting main characters like Maz or Snoke, we got, what? Ello Asty and Zuvio? I guess Ackbar technically counts too. But I think that's about it, no? Ones like Sidon Ithano that seemed to catch on with audiences should've been a lock. I know a few got love in the 3.75" line, but nothing for Black Series. Heck, I'm still waiting on a Two Tubes; my only hope now is that he may get a nice little moment in Andor season 2 that'll finally get him a figure.
Such a shame. I know a lot of it is the rising costs to make figures, but you can't tell me that there wasn't at least a little re-use potential. Surely a character like Sidon Ithano could use some pre-existing parts. I'm sure reception played a part too- the movies weren't super well recieved after TFA, but the same could be said for the prequel trilogy, and those still churned out figures like no tomorrow. Man, I miss those days- when 90% of what was on screen became a figure. Nowadays, there's no hope for those cool aliens like the Polis Massa or Utapauans. No Mustafarian Lava Miners. We'll never get a Cat Miin or Passel Argente. Heck, at this point we'll be lucky if we ever get Nute Gunray or Poggel the Lesser. And what I wouldn't do for a Wat Tambor!
Still no movement on my Ki-Adi. I just shipped my existing Pile of Loot, so I'm sure now is when he'll hit. What an odd release (he said for the 1000th time). Still unable to be ordered on a lot of sites, and still no explanation as to why he was released this way, other than that flimsy "we're trying to give everyone a shot" line from way back when. Was this just an experiment of theirs that obviously went way wrong? Or was there really some stipulation that he could only be released a certain way. Doubtful, but if that's the case, I certainly hope other characters don't share the same fate. Ki-Adi is popular enough in his own right, but if a character like Shaak Ti was ever given this same fate? Ohhh, baby, the fans would riot!
I do worry the Ki-Adi-Mundi is the victim of a distribution experiment--they did say he was not going to be a preorder. I hope him clearly selling very well tells them to not play games with other Jedi council members later, but who knows.
And echoing the lack of aliens overall, yeah. Glad we finally got Momaw Nadon (and even some parts reuse with Dok-Ondar!). I'm kind of embarrassed to admit I didn't really latch onto any ST background aliens, but heck, I'll BUY any Star Wars alien they produce just for background characters in the display. I know it's gotta be cost cutting but I'll always look back and think Star Wars is partly as big as it is because a whole generation fell in love with weirdo alien figures who had 1.2 seconds of screen time.
YakFace was reporting on their Instagram that cases of the whole Acolyte wave- full assortment and solid character packs- are starting to arrive in the US, so it's very possible that we may actually get some of the figures while the show is airing! I keep forgetting it's only like a week or two away at this point, and as the marketing is ramping up, it's definitely getting me more and more excited! I hope our Wookie Jedi, Lightsaber Whip lady, and Smiley Boi villain aren't far behind.
@joshsquash729 As much as my wallet would not appreciate another Hasbro preorder showing up super early, getting the Acolyte figures while the show is airing would be boss.
@joshsquash729 ah man, thank you. Getting figures during the show is really awesome but I was also hoping to get at least most of the season before having to decide if I really want these. Fortunately, Amazon has a pretty easy return process at least.
Ki Adi Mundi IN STOCK at Pulse!
My Kid Adi Mundi figures are processing at BBTS and should ship out soon. Right as they start processing, Hasbro Pulse finally puts the figure up lol. I could have got my 2 Ki Adi's Cheaper, and with no shipping from Pulse, but hey. Thats ok. I love BBTS.
besides being up for pre order on Pulse, Ki Adi Mundi is also back up for pre order on BBTS.
So, he seems very available now.
