@panthercult

Hasbro is being Hasbro on that one. I ordered it. I wanted that figure for a long time. Should it be $35... no it really shouldn't.

@joshsquash729 have any characters from the games appeared elsewhere yet? At this point, I'd be happy with any of them showing up anywhere even without dialogue etc.

I also hesitate with Momaw despite wanting him. I'm also not so sure he will be marked down anywhere so I'll probably just have to suck it up.

That Momaw Nadon figure is one of the few Star Wars figures I've still been wanting to exist ... but $35 feels like a lot and I'm struggling to commit.    I get that there isn't a ton of reuse potential

This figure is ALREADY re-use!

I haven't looked at how similar they are but maybe they could use some of him for the mayor from BOBF.

@ru1977 No crossover yet, but there's been fan demand for at least Cal to pop up somewhere, and when the person who both plays the main character both verbally and physically is an already well established actor, why not?

I'm torn on Momaw too. I pre-ordered him just in case, but I do have a feeling he'll hit a sale eventually. He's not an exclusive, beyond Fan Channel, and while cantina aliens are always good sellers, there's always the possibility that many people say he's not wholly necessary because he's not a main character. Something tells me that, much like the unique droid parts, Hasbro is gonna want to get as much use out of the Hammerhead mold as they can, so it wouldn't surprise me to see more in the future- Roron Corobb, the BoBF Mayor, etc. I do like my Dok Ondar- he certainly commands attention, but he is a hefty guy, and takes up some space. I don't know- if I cancel and end up missing out on Momaw, I won't be too torn up.

It's funny because one thing I like about the Mandalorian and other shows is they make some of these species more prominent. Like the mayor, opposed to Momaw who is barely shown in ANH though he does have some dialogue. So it's stuff like that. Would I rather have the mayor, or someone like the Weequay bartender over a skiff guard?

Ehhhhhhh.... Maybe those are bad examples because I still prefer Momaw and the skiff guard.

Is it a foregone conclusion that eventually we will see a Black Series toy homage "Hammerhead" figure,  maybe on a retro card or something -  done with just the blue tunic?

Or do we pretend that didn't happen and it was always and only Momaw as he's being delivered?

Who have they done that with? I know Greedo, and technically Boba as well. Any others? But I don't see it as unlikely with Momaw too.

I had thought that was officially the plan. I can't say where I heard it, but it seemed so obvious that I just took it as The Way.

I figured they made the (human) cast look like the actors for a reason.

Does Obi-Wan count?

and while cantina aliens are always good sellers,

The piles and piles of clearance TBS Ponda Babas and Doc Evazans might have a thing to say about that.

So, the Mandalorian and Grogu movie comes out May 22, 2026.  I hope we get a lot of Black series figures and other merchandise that year.  Usually during a movie year, the merch flows hard.  So, I hope we get Black Series figures from the Mando and Gu film, as well as all other areas of Star Wars.

I know merch won't be let out in the quantities of the old days through the original 6 films.  But I hope Hasbro and other companies at least try to get plenty of stuff out and help welcome Star Wars back to cinema.

Greedo, Ponda Baba, Dr. Evazan, Figrin D'an, plus six other Bith if you wanna count unique characters. Momaw Nadon helps to fill that out. Honestly, that particular shelf in my display is way out of room already. I've got the Jawas and Tusken Raiders and Sandtroopers in that shelf as well. I POed Hammerhead, but honestly, I'd still buy a few more Cantina patrons. Bo Shek, Ellors Madak, Wuher (if they released even the front curved part of the bar). But I'd cut off there if that's what they released. While I like characters like Snaggletooth and Lak Sivrak and Muftak, that's getting deeper and deeper, and I don't have the room.
