Another black series wave that will be clearanced within a month.
People were weeping and begging them to make Jedi figures from the prequels. At best we got one or two in a few years. But as soon as another crappy Disney project comes out, we got a bunch of merch that not many people asked for. If the show is good, people will buy a couple of "main character" figures. If the show is garbage - another Ollie's Pegwarmers. I doubt random people are even interested. Only hardcore fans.
I'm honestly not sure how many random people are interested in paying over $25 for star wars figures anymore anyway.
I imagine not many people asked for these since the entire world only just became aware of these characters 24 hours ago. I respect your cynicism though.

I'm a big Star Wars fan. I've spent way too much on SW merch over the years, and actively collect the Black Series. And not even I am interested in the Acolyte figures. Not until I see the show at least. I've been burned too many times by new Star Wars media.
I agree, there can't be too much demand yet.
Yeah -- not interested in these until I see the show. But even then, Andor was amazing but didn't need any of those either.
Right, I've got a couple I'm interested in partly for how they look and partly because of what I'm thinking will happen in the show (and how I'll like them as characters), but ultimately, yeah, seeing the show is crucial. I'll order those two and if I'm not into them once I see the show, I'll cancel. but to me, the show looks like it has a TON of potential and I'm ready for it to be a good ride. I've enjoyed other things by the showrunner, so that also helps.
I have to admit that it's really hard to get excited about a bunch of Robelords when there are some OT characters that I want way way waaaay (by a billion percent) more and it's getting frustrating that they're not being made.
Have no opinion on the show. Just like the Hasbro team who haven't seen any of it, I'm open-minded and hoping for good things. Also found it funny - I don't think they were allowed to say the actors' names out loud.
The toys they've designed look fantastic! I think the faces on Carrie and the other master are elongated, which are throwing off their likeness, but the other three look really good. A LOT of care was obviously put into these and it shows. And with each of these being a unique sculpt, pop their heads off, put others on and make the background Jedi you want - these are not a waste in any way. I'm excited to see expressions have returned for some of these! Love the smiling guy and I want to buy him for only that reason - he's different! And not miserable!
Hasbro did an awesome job on the product today.

I get that, and I still have several on my own list, but I appreciate them rolling out some figures timed close to the release of the new project for once.
I agree that it's nice to actually have the figures timed better with a new project. Wonder how fast they'll ship - was a gut punch to get the Bad Batch what, a full year after the show relelased originally?
Carrie-Anne Moss in a Jedi robe has me as curious as Ray Stevenson in Sith-y armor did. I just like the concept of it. I'll end up picking her fgure up no matter what (though the show does have my interest a bit).
@docsilence on the stream, they said Fall of this year.
And yeah, if you're into robelords, these all seem like solid figures. A lot of character in the faces like Schizm pointed out, a few known performers (I didn't realize until last night that's Daphne Keen), and feels like (without the benefit of seeing the show) a solid opening salvo as far as variety for the wave. Vern and the Wookiee seem like the only other definite options from the trailer.
A year later, and Armored Gideon isn't even in the pipeline yet?
A bit torn on the Acolyte figures. It's hard to get excited for characters I know nothing about. I like the look of the High Republic stuff, but they do all look a little plain. I know that yellow (especially yellow fabric) is tough to get right, but the color makes their robes look plastic-y, which I'm sure is not the desired effect. Mae looks nice (and even looks like she could potentially be a good base for a custom Shin), but the softgoods on all of them are a bit wonky. If they were gonna do any robes, I think going for the white robes would've felt more appropriate and stood out a bit more.
Even the new packaging just feels a little off to me. Hard to put my finger on, but it almost feels like they highlight how empty the packaging is now. I guess on the plus side, since they're never out when the show actually premieres, there's time for me to decide on whether or not I want them. As of now, I'm feeling a bit middle-of-the-road with them all.
If only I'd somehow monetized the number of streams since his reveal they go without mentioning Ki-Adi Mundi. I know he's coming, but I'll never stop complaining about it (probably even after I have him in hand). It's so odd to just announce something and all but forget about it, especially with all these prequel anniversaries!
The Pipeline reveals are nice, though! Ahsoka the White, Dedra, the Imperial Trooper. A newer prequel era Yoda will be nice as well, but I'm not holding my breath until we see that one in person. I agree that the Enoch 2 pack is a dirty move; they're gonna blame paint apps, I bet, and like the Super Battle Droid, it wouldn't surprise me to see a single release of the Night Trooper anyway. But especially after the TVC 4-pack they announced, we know they can do Night Trooper variants, they just....don't want to? I dunno.
Hologram Maul looks nice- he's one I'd actually get in hologram form. Not gonna spring for him full price, though, considering how the rest of the line has done, I know he'll be on sale/clearance if I'm patient enough.
I'd actually like a CW era Yoda but not getting named clones anymore. Eh. I'll definitely order Dedra though.
I am very excited about all those Jedi. Even if the Acolyte isn't good (but I hope it is), these Jedi figures from the show will look great as random Jedi in a Prequel Collection setup. Especially like a Geonosis Battle Arena display.
I will get everything shown today. But even though I was happy with the reveals, for the love of God can we have more new, first time Prequel and Original Trilogy characters! Please Hasbro.
I like getting stuff from the new content. But I need more of the stuff from the old days. The two Trilogies and the EU.
