I never got the chance to order Fives. I really am hoping there's another opportunity. He's one of my most wanted figures in the line.

My cracked helmet Vader as arrived, and it's brilliant. Some pics for you:

Firstly a comparison between ESB Vader from a few years ago. The new figure is ever so slightly taller than the classic figure. I guess Hayden Christensen is one tall dude in real life. I also noticed the cape has a hole in the rear, from when Obi-Wan tagged him in the show, which I can't recall seeing.

The under-cape thingy has really poor fitment, but I guess that can be fixed with a bit of patience. The ESB one is very nice underneath. The crotch piece is a more flexible rubber.

And interestingly you can see the ears of the head on both sides. I was wondering if they would bother to mould the entire head, so I guess they did. If someone (not me) wants to pull the helmet apart for a proper look then I'd love to see the rest of it.

Finally, the eyes and face print are arranged so that the character is looking slightly upwards in that Stanley Kubrick-style look of madness. So, pose it with the head slightly forward and it looks *amazing*. Great figure!

I'm always amazed when a Walmart exclusives ship. Got shipping notice for Fives and the commando today! The Bad Batch boys are still showing but I don't mind them trickling in a few at a time.

Could the Duel's End Vader have new legs? The thigh cut is slightly higher compared to the ESB version. That would explain the height difference. Would be a shame if they went to the trouble to make new legs and still make them pinned. Mick, can you confirm the new Vader is still using pinned legs?

@mickjohnson Wow Vader looks phenomenal!    That's for posting the review & pics!

I missed out on the pre-order, but am definitely going to be hunting for at least one, but more likely two of these.

Well, I’m not a guy who gets suuuuuper into the details about each character, nor do I know what the heck ‘pinned legs’ are. But… I saw this post and decided to take the most cursed picture I could imagine while trying to compare the two figures, and I hope it helps… so here’s two Vader Black Series figures spread-eagled across my underwear ;p

You’ll have to adjust for me trying to use the new forums software as well  but hopefully the picture does it justice.

Next up a really rough shot of the two with a bit more effort put in to making them look as similar as possible. They actually look more closely aligned. It’s hard to get these figures to stand the same with all the flowing capes and wahtnot so I should have tried to do this earlier.

Closer view of the crotch piece. From here it looks like the limbs are of the same mold as before.

I should point this out, which I just noticed: there’s a mould pip under the back edge of the helmet that seems to distort the whole thing. I hope this is a very isolated problem.

But… like… get it into a pose that it’s designed to portray and it’s EFFING AWESOME

@mickjohnson Great pics, thanks!

Where did your Vader come from?  I'm guessing it wasn't Target in the US.

I got Fives and Darth Malgus in the mail today.  Both really nice figures.  I had the S2 Bad Batch and Clone Commando pre ordered, but I ended up cancelling them.

I felt like as far as the Bad Batch went, I really don't like the S2 attires, or at least, I like the Black S1 attires way more.  And didn't feel like paying over $100 for the same figures I already have, just with different color armor.

Maybe if I see them out, or online at some point I'll slowly get them.  But not a must.

As far as the Clone Commando, I just thought that was an incredibly bland, plain white figure.  Especially for $27 before tax.  I love buying clones, but something about that Clone Commando just seemed very underwhelming to me.  Again, I may pick it up if I see it out, but it didn't feel like a must have.

Funny you say that about the clone commandos being plain. I feel the same about the all gray/red Bad Batch compared to their more unique and individual season 2 looks. 🙂

I picked up Vader today (I'm in Australia, also). It's $55 here at EB Games/Zing (for comparison, they sell regular Black Series waves for $45, the comic box ones for $60, and deluxes around $65). They do price higher than other stores, who sell regular Black Series for around $40.

I had a gift voucher though (with the reminder, I picked up the McFarlane 1966 Batcave set for $45, which again highlights how badly Hasbro prices their figures, although McFarlane stuff has definitely risen recently and the Batcave is a bit old now... heh, get it, 1966). I'd have been very hesitant otherwise (annoying that I couldn't purchase via their eBay store and use my monthly eBay Plus voucher, because then I couldn't use my EB gift voucher as well and would have to pay my own money).

Still, their prices stretch the friendship. I definitely don't get regular releases there. But this one would appear exclusive and along with gift voucher, it was a no brainer. Worth it alone for the headsculpt. And like @mickjohnson said - someone else try and rip that helmet off. 😛

I received my two Clone Commandos Thursday from Walmart and S2 Bad Batch  Hunter arrived today.

What bothers me though Walmart is no longer sending me any shipped or arriving soon emails. I just receive the delivered emails now. FedEx there is something wrong with my account on their end for not receiving any email updates and not even the IT team can figure out what it is. I'm thinking of just having them remove my account and I sign back up with a new email address and see if that will fix the issue.
