Random, does anyone happen to have Doctor Aphra and Classified Lady Jaye? Looking for a size comparison for the sake of a custom. Thanks!
@protozoalord I don't have Aphra, but I do have Mara Jade. They're the exact same body and Mara and Jaye are the same height if that helps.
@slixta thanks man! It definitely helps. Are their upper torsos about the same size around?
Judging by the other GI Joe's I've seen, they have different sized joints in the neck, then the older SW figures like what Aphra has, so head swaps aren't usually a straight swap. I would think the torso should be the same, joint wise. But the Jaina Solo body, which is what Aphra and Mara are on, is pretty thin. I think the Joe bodies run a little thicker then that. What exactly are you attempting?
I'm glad to hear Katee is gonna be in the next season. I thought after S3 and her story kind of being finished she was gonna exit the show. I'm glad I was wrong. I love her lol. But they should retire the Greef character. Have him go off and be some big shot somewhere. Maybe say he's representing the colony in some sort of negotiations with the new republic or something. Something noble and important. While I understand why they used the body doubles with the CG faces in the past, there were necessary reasons to do so. Leia and Tarkin were both instrumental in their respective stories. They couldn't be told without them. No offense to Carl, but he wasn't necessary after S1. That's not saying he didn't do a stellar job. But look what happend with Kara Dune. While the character was cool, she wasn't integral to the story. And it was told and continued without her, without much change. Hell, if Disney really wanted they could use it ro bring Kara back. But I highly doubt that'll happen. Or they could put Sly Stalone in and make him a new character taking over for Greef "while he's away." Honestly though there may be no good option. Just which not so great option sounds better. Cause he can't be replaced.
@trunks3540 A sculptor/3d printer I know put a RE1 Jill Valentine kit up for sale and I'm planning on putting the Lady Jaye arms on the Aphra body, but the harness/armor is scaled for Lady Jaye. Wanted to double check before any fodder purchases or poking the guy about possible rescaling lol.
You know what I will never understand with Hasbro?
When you nail a likeness like on the Empire Strikes Back Leias, how did they get it so wrong afterwards?
Their Power Rangers Tommy figures are another great example. Started off strong then went all over the place.
With sculpts being digital, why not build off the existing?
I've always wondered that. Didn't they use the same Luke head for all the figures in the first few POTF2 waves?
Lady Jay's arms were also prone to ripping at the elbow joint iirc. So I'd be careful with that. But it sounds like a nice idea. Which Jill are you going for though? She's had a bunch of outfits. And uhh, I may catch flack for this, but Jill is my girl from the RE series and I'm a strictler for details so, the Dr. Aphra boobs are not big enough to be Jill. The whole body may even be a little small. All around Jill is a bit thicker. I wouldn't say like wrestler body thicker, but she's got some muscle. She isn't a twig like Claire lol. And she is definitely better endowed then the Jaina Solo body. Especially old school Jill. The new model they dropped her a cup 1 size I believe. But they are still quite noticeable.
I was thinking today about my Black Series Collection, and the characters that Hasbro has yet to make from the Original and Prequel trilogy. And I hope the Black Series lasts many, many more years to come. But what I was wondering was, do you guys think realistically they will get to a lot of the characters we got in the 3.75" line that have yet to be made?
I mean some characters seem like a lock. Lobot for instance.
But what about characters like Bo Shek, Garindan Longsnoot, Lak Sirvak, Wuher, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. Or Prequel characters like Captain Panaka, Captain Typho, Zam Wessell, or Chancellor Velorum?
We're going into the 11th year, and there are so many great OT and PT characters we don't have. Between Hasbro's current sales, and then how often Hasbro has to make new characters from new shows and films for Disney/Lucasfilm, do any of you realistically think we will get some of these characters?
Do you ever for instance think we will have all the characters/figures from the basic POTF or POTJ lines, or the basic EP I, II, or 3 lines?
Or do you feel that will never happen?
I keep collecting this line, and I do enjoy it because I love Star Wars. But I also keep on waiting to get so many different characters, and it just hasn't happened yet. So, do you think given time they'll get to them? Or do you think it's not likely?
Because while I do enjoy collecting this line, I'm also doing it assuming someday I will have a lot of the characters I really want from the OT and PT. Is it foolish to assume we may get these characters someday? Or do you think we may very well end up with most of them?
I'm in the same boat, waiting for figures of a ton of OT and PT characters. Will they ever get to everyone on my extensive list. No, not at this pace. But I get a few more every year, which keeps me involved in the line.
Last year I got Wicket, an Endor Rebel Trooper, and better versions of: R5-D4, R2-D2, Phase 2 Clone and ROTJ Luke. (I bought some of the more modern characters and game figures too).
So it's slow. But this year is starting out good with a Destroyer Droid, Super Battle Droid, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and supposedly Mamaw Nadon. Young Anakin, Padme, and Phase 1 Clone troopers too.
@supercamel-1982 I don't know what to think. I'm terrible at predicting trends etc so I don't know if this line has another decade in it or only a year. I think I have 40 characters on my wishlist and 3 are PT with 10 OT (15 if you count the Boba Fett variants I still want, 7 comic characters, then another 15 from the Disney shows. Which kinda surprises me but...yep. But as far as 'please, please, at least do these before the line ends', I'd say all the OT and comic characters are the only ones on that list. I used to have more OT and even some video game figures on my wishlist but I've been shaving my list down partly due to cutting down on spending and partly due to losing faith a lot of these will get done. If they were to make a figure of someone I took off the list though, I'd probably still go for it.
I don't have hope for much new from the OT or PT. The focus is more on the new media, reuse, and repaints. I think we'll be lucky to get a handful of OT and PT characters each year. At that rate, we'll never see anything close to what we got in 3 3/4 over the years.
I wouldn't mind if they at least matched the original 90-something Kenner figure roster. I feel it's achievable.
@ru1977 I would love that, and frankly I'm surprised that they never made a marketing push to do just that. They did with the 3.75" line I believe.
By a quick count they are about 39 figures away from achieving that. I looked at a more extensive list when coming up with that number.
Here is what I referenced: https://twitter.com/ClassicStarWars/status/725142451447459840/photo/1
I didn't count minor variants, or the animated series figures.
