I'm sure I bought 10, but probably came pretty close to exactly 10. I don't know if I could think of 10 that gave me enough satisfaction to put on a top ten list. I do know, I really enjoyed:

Duel's End Darth Vader

Artoo Deetoo new mold

Endor Rebel Commando

Imperial Light Cruiser Luke Skywalker

Wicket

I didn't expect so many others to also like that Duel's End Vader so much, but he seems pretty popular.

I continued my trend of getting way, way too many Black Series this year, and there were a lot of solid ones. There's some that I don't know if they fully belong in the "top 10", as they're essentially just repaints, but honorable mentions go to the Bad Batch wave (as much a pain in the ass as it was to get) for some really beautiful repaints, especially Tech, for finally fixing the goggle debacle. Props as well to the Holiday figures- there were some really fun ones this year, like the Nutcracker Purge Trooper. Same with re-releases like Jabba- he's a totally new release to me, since I never had the original, but I don't know if it would be fair to lump him in with the new releases. Same with R2- it's technically an all-new figure, but is essentially the same as the old one, just scaled up.

Runners up would be-

Duel's End Vader- a badass design, but not much new beyond it

"Jedi Legend" Showbi-Wan- Just a really nice figure. Love the design, love the colors, love the Skyhopper.

Bastilla Shan- Just a nice, solid figure that we've needed for a long time, but a bit on the plain side

Darth Malak- Hindered by some wonky ankles, but a really well done figure. Love the details with the mask.

Ezra Bridger- a solid figure- nothing explicitly wrong with it, other than it barely appearing on-screen.

Hera Syndulla- Again, nothing explicitly wrong, just a bit simple, and the same wonky ankles make her hard to stand

As for my top figures, they're not going to look that much different than anyone else's list, but in no particular order:

Cal Kestis (Jedi Survivor)- just a massive upgrade from the previous figures in almost every regard

Luthen Rael- hindered by those wonky sleeves, but otherwise a really solid figure. Something about him just keeps me coming back

Endor Trooper- A long needed figure implemented well. Wish there was more possibility to use the face plates from the Hoth troopers, but it's a small nit.

Krrsantan- Finally the version we deserved, done quite well. Beautifully executed, and appropriately imposing.

Dok Ondar- A smidge on the pricey side, but for an all-new sculpt and some cool accessories, it's worth it.

Darth Malgus- Suffers from some wonky ankles as well, and is a great sculpt and appropriately imposing

Padawan Ahsoka- a long-needed variant done really well. Love that she can do her classic "arms crossed" pose

Sabine Wren- Some great paint and face printing. Just love the possibilities with the figure

Huyang- Really well done. Love the pearlescent sheen, the accessories and backpack, and the fact that he's one of the few droid figures I have no problem keeping standing.

Marrok- I know he's probably low on a lot of people's lists, but I love him. Love the design, and the new articulation really did wonders.

My top ten are probably (and will be moved around)

10. Fives

9. Mara Jade

8. Scorch

7. Darth Malgus

6. Ezra Bridger (Ahsoka but actually Rebels)

5. Clone Trooper (TCW)

4. Cal Kestis (Survivor)

3. Sabine Wren (Ahsoka)

2. Ahsoka Tano (TCW)

1. Bastila Shan

I really wanted to put Malak on the list but was kind of let down with him overall. I do still like him I just don't love him. I am sure that Starkiller would be on there if I had him in hand. I love the Ahsoka figure from her show but did not count her since she is basically a repack from an earlier released figure. If she were to count, she would be higher on the list and Fives or Scorch would go. Honestly most figures could move around the list a little bit each way.

I am overall very happy with The Black Series this year, and I hope it continues  to give me characters I love... which means the Gaming Greats line and Publishing line will both need to keep going as strong as they have been. Also a ton of characters from the new shows. I would kill for the Tusken Warrior, Tusken Child, Ithorian Mayor, and more BoBF characters. I know people were not the biggest fan of him in that show, but the show did have great characters that would make fun figures.

That's funny, I had to lean him up behind Ahsoka and Sabine to keep him from leaping off the shelf again. I like the idea of his backpack but didn't like how the arms looked folded out. I'm not usually one to say anything about articulation but I would have liked a little more on those backpack arms.

BUT, I'm happy to have a unique droid who was also a lovable character.

Just managed to get two sets of those clone troopers, but they went out of stock again as soon as i placed my order.

Are those popping in/out for pre-order still?  If so, I'll become more diligent about checking on them.

Seeing folks' top ten lists made me realize I had the kind of bad year at work I didn't get to ENJOY most of the Black Series figures I picked up. I just ran out of time. I'm not even sure when I got which. I thiiiiink my top list would be:

  • Luthen Rael (amazing likeness)
  • Wicket
  • Cobb Vanth (non-armored)
  • Huyang
  • Marrok (just a neat action figure)
  • Starkiller
  • Malak
  • Dok Ondar
  • Malgus
  • Bastila Shan

But with an honorary "I just loved them all" for the Bad Batch update. I did't think I needed a second set of that cast but the new colors look great in figure format.

I got the Luke/Grogu set in from black friday finally. Everything was there, was really surprised, haven't had great luck with these shitty blind boxes. I've been calling the set Groluke lol. Anyway, it's not bad. Grogu looks new. Yodas lightsaber is smaller then the one that came with Yoda. Grogu can, kind of hold it? His left hand looks made to hold it. But it doesn't stay in too well. Any little bump and it falls out. And all the little odds and ends are kinda fun, like the jumping stand and the target droid. If I was inclined to pay full price for it when it came out, I easily could've lived without them for a price drop though. But only paying $17, I feel like I'm robbing someone lol. The pack is a pain in the ass to put on Luke. It took alot of pressure and some wiggling. Still doesn't stay on well. The Luke figure isn't bad. The likeness is a bit off, I'll attribute that to the deep fake scan. The outfit is cool, probably one of my fave looks for him. The body is nice, could use double knees though. I'm gonna say that about everything going forward, I know. He has one of the new harder blades with a flat end where the peg is. And just like Obi Wans, his blade also has a divet in it, near the base. It's not as bad as Obi Wans, cause his ran half way up the side. This one runs maybe 1/5 of the way up. But it's still noticeable. Seems like they're gonna be going with these new harder blades going forward, so they need to really look into fixing that. And the blades weren't really the issue in the first place. It was the hilts all being too soft and gummy. If the hilt can't bend, then the peg wouldn't bend inside it as much and snap off. You'd only have to worry about it breaking when they shelf dived. With the hilts being bendy, I worry about the blades breaking just moving the figures. In a perfect world we'd get the same treatment as TVC where we'd get a hilt that can attach to the belt, and another with a blade, all one piece. Wonder why they haven't don't that. The sabers and the removable helmets are just issues they haven't tried to change and see how much better it would be. But they'll change the knees to singles which no one was asking for. He also has nowhere to attach the hilt to his belt, even though it has a hook. So that's kind of annoying. If I can find a belt similar to the one from the Endor Luke, or even just get one of those if it's cheap enough, I may try to see if that fits on him, cause I think a belt, at least for his saber, would make the suit look better.

I also got the 2 Dark Troopers I ordered. These things are fun. If I had more room I'd consider getting more. I had to heat the guns and rework them cause they were both bent like boomerangs. And I glued down the free floating chest piece cause that was annoying af. But otherwise these things are nice. I quite like them. The hand pegs feel solid. The joints are all nice, I didn't have any loose ones. They're nice and shiny. They hold the guns well. And the foot rockets are a nice little touch. They do bug my OCD a little though. The waists on both of them look a little crooked. Like twisted just off center. And one looks like it's leaning a bit. I may see how they come apart and maybe try to fix that. I really wish I had more room so I could get a couple more lol.

I feel like I know the answer to this, but is the silver buckled belt on the Mandolorian Jedi Luke removable?

The ROTJ Jabba's Palace Luke Look has always been my favorite and this looks gorgeous, but obviously the belt is an addition from the show.

I only check into Star Wars occasionally, but it seems like there are a few good looking figures featuring that costume - only with slight modifications. This Black Series figure and another few from the Book of Boba Fett without the buckle, but with a sash on the side of the belt.

I guess the Wal-Mart exclusive from a few years back is still the best version of the complete Jabba's Palace look?

I know this is not a new topic, but I really want Merrin, Cere, Greez, and Bode from Survivor, in that order.

I would definitely grab a figure of Merrin. She's way higher on my wishlist than the trio of nightsisters on Ahsoka.

Old news for most, but I opened up the new R2 a couple days ago and hot DAMN if this isn't 1000% better than the original one from way back when I bought my very first few Black Series figures. Size, colors, accessories. I'm not saying anything you guys don't know, but this is a terrific little figure for something that I generally don't expect much from (given the limitations of the design, I mean). He looks absolutely amazing in the display. Hopefully we get a really good set of remakes for the ANH crew for him to hang with soon. For now he's in the RotJ display.

Christ on a cracker that middle leg was in there tight, though.

Haven't opened him yet, but I also found a Marrok? Marrok, right? That one got wrapped up for my son to open. He loves the 'knight' style characters like this and he's going to be really excited to have him in his collection. The sacrifices we make as parents, huh?

@theknightdamien Aside from the overdone orange paint accents, Marrok is a fantastic figure KD.  I think you're going to love him.  The articulation is great, it's joy to mess with this guy.  Pure hand candy 100%.
