The EU had its problems, and I kinda had to stop following when the whole Yuuzan Vong thing started, but I definitely think Disney picked the wrong continuity to ditch: they *should* have retconned and redone the *prequels* and associated continuity, *then* moved forward to a sequel trilogy. I don’t know that I’d want to hold onto *all* the EU, but I’d have been for keeping quite a bit of it, and certainly Shadows of the Empire and Dark Forces would have been keepers.

The Yuuzan Vong stories weren't bad. There's a fan theory going around as to Palpatines motivations behind destroying the weak republic and forming the empire because he knew they were coming and was trying to prepare the galaxy to fight back. It's a very interesting and intriguing take if you think about it. He knew the republic and the Jedi were too weak to handle it so he tried to make the galaxy stronger for what was coming. And it's much better story wise then the sequel trilogy that's for sure. And it sets up Darth Krayt and the Legacy comics, which are by far some of the best EU offerings. The bounty hunter wars were fantastic as well. Bossk vs Boba, and Dengar being the one that saved him made me appriciate Dengar alot more. While I liked BoBF, I still think the Bounty Hunter Wars was a better story, and a better way to keep Boba alive. The only things I would probably not wanna keep from the old EU would be some of the deaths, like Chewie and Anakin Solo. Mara Jade also died, which sucked. There are so many really good stories they did. And Luke in the old EU was so much better then what they did with him in the ST. Now it almost makes me wanna go back and read a bunch of them, but who has the time for all that? And there's so many stories, and I don't even own half of them anymore.

I never liked this theory, it just makes the Vong completely insufferable. Giving Palpatine a legitimate reason, even one as flimsy as this, to form the empire just completely misses the core appeal of his character. He's purely interested in the pursuit of power, that's it. Giving him any kind of motivation beyond that just doesn't fit him at all. I also just don't like how it implies that Palpatine would be afraid of them, it feels like putting the new villains over the old established one just to make them look scarier by comparison.

I don't entirely hate the Yuuzhan Vong from a concept standpoint, and they're definitely more interesting than just the Empire again, but I don't understand how something can just be "immune" to the force. Immune against physical manifestations like force lightning I might be able to accept and I guess being able to avoid detection is fine too, but you simply can't be immune to someone picking you up or shoving you.

Still, they did help lead up to Legacy as you said and I agree that those are absolutely some of the best stories to come from the EU. I've said it before, but Hasbro I will buy a Darth Krayt if you're reading this. I'd also be interested in a Cade Skywalker, Jariah Syn, and Deliah Blue too.

That book also, to me, really captured Vader's relationship with Palpatine and how the Emperor did see him as kinda disposable if someone was able to supplant him.

That shouldn’t come off as too big a surprise.  If you listen to the dialogue closely in the original trilogy, it becomes clear that Vader and the Emperor were plotting against each other, using Luke as a pawn to eliminate the other.

Vader (ESB): Join me, and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son

wait.. what about the Emperor?  Was something going to happen to him? Hmmmm….

Emperor Palpatine (RotJ): Strike him down and take your father’s place at my side

A bit more obvious.   Thus is a prime example of why there’s only ever two Sith.  Master and apprentice.  They do not share power.

@detectivehoag no, you're right. It's all there. I don't know how much I had really examined it in the mid nineties yet. But yeah, Vader is playing Palpatine throughout ESB. Like how he is actively searching for Luke but plays dumb when the Emperor tells him about Luke.

And say what you will about the prequels, I certainly have, but it was such a good touch to have Anakin make the same pitch to Padme, and imagining how he felt twenty years later to finally have another family member to make him feel strong and confident enough to take Palpatine down.

So Entertainment Earth is having a sale all weekend. They have Black Series Dark Troopers for $12 and a code for free shipping over $39. I would've bought 4 if I had the soace, but I nabbed 2 since I'm running out of room. They also have a couple other figures on there like Archive Chewie and Saw. I have a feeling at $12 those Dark Troopers won't last long.

The Sith are the ones I really want from Legacy. They had such awesome designs. They would be perfect for toys. And Darth Talon is probably in my top 5 wanted figures in 6 inch. I have the old one, but it's lacking a little since the legs are kinda static. I also liked the knights with the white lightsabers. Their armor and general look are really nice. Baylans outfit actually reminds me of theirs a little bit. Not full on, but for some reason I thought of them the first time I saw him.

My top 5 also changed since we got Bastila, Mara, Aayla, and Galen is on his way soon. Not exactly sure what the order is but Talon, Katarn, Rendar, Krayt, and Jacen Solo is the list. All EU stuff lol. I also want a few more Galen outfits. He had so many, but he definitely needs to get at least a couple more, like his Sith helmet outfit and the black and red armor. That look was awesome.

Amazon has Saw for $8-something.

I agree about the Legacy Sith. I would only grab a few but they would make amazing toys and look really awesome lined up together on a shelf. I also agree about the Knights, they were really cool as well. I'd be tempted by those too.

Don't ask me why, or how, but Amazon has the Black series Luke Grogu pack from Amazon proper for $18. Not even Amazon wearhouse, who has it for like $28. Shipped from/sold by. I took a chance on it. Although it did say it's a high return item. But, if I had to guess, it's returned more cause people steal shit out of it and send it back. And then Amazon doesn't think anything is wrong with it and resells through the wearhouse. Since it's not Amazon wearhouse though I feel good about it. But if it is fucked I'll just return it or exchange it for another one. But again, at that price, worth a shot. Wonder why it says estimated delivery is Dec 6 though.

Man that is tempting! But they already got me with 'figures I don't really need' with my extra throne room Boba for $13.

Shit if I knew that I would've bought him there. At least Target I'm 90% sure it wouldn't be a swap. I'll see what happens with the Amazon one.

I finally got around to opening my Pre Vizsla, Ahsoka Tano, and phase 2 clone troopers. Honestly it felt like 2010 again when I got all these characters in TCW line (which I still have). I made so many custom clones and used Pre Vizsla for customs back then. I think now I will make at least one custom clone trooper of my OC commander Surge from when I use to do Clone Wars battles. This is such a fun line and I am having more fun this year then the previous five of collecting Black Series.

Ahsoka is one of my favourite figures, but I am bias because she is my favourite characters. She is great. I love Pre Vizsla, but I feel like the face looks a lot better on TVC version of him. Either way I am glad he got made in both scales. The Clone Trooper shines the brightest. He is such a fun figure, though two of the four had crooked helmets and look too wide. I am sure I can fix it with a blowdryer but I have not had time yet. Overall great figures and I am happy to have them! Excited to open my Hera, Chopper, Huyang, and Marrok soon!

Man, I am definitely in for a couple of these Clone Trooper Packs tomorrow going up on Target.

I was lucky enough to actually get some of the Ahsoka Clones back when they "came out" lol.  That exclusive set with the Maul Mandos and Ahsoka Clones seemed like it didn't show up at any Wal-Mart.  I got so lucky and found an endcap full of them once.

But it's nice to get an Ahsoka Clone again in this pack along with the other.

Am I crazy or is the new 332nd helmet updated a little bit? Color patterns or the type of orange used, it looks different from the Walmart release.

I was extremely lucky and was able to army build those. I remember seeing on reddit that someone posted in my city that Walmart had the endcap. I literally left work and ran straight there and picked up 4. And then immediately tried my other Wal-Mart and they had another 4. AND I was lucky online too with a preorder of 4.

Do I need more? Absolutely not. But this is the goal:

I wish they were on Pulse instead of Target.
