@joshsquash729 Right, the difference is night and day across the board. But I've come to enjoy the star wars team ironically.

Its why I don't even watch the livestreams. It just seems like alot of disappointment and a celebration of mediocrity. They would hate it if I asked questions too. I would call them out on their stupidity and decisions.

I should be getting Marrok, Huyang, Hera and Pre Vizsla tomorrow.  Excited about this Wave.  Especially Marrok.  I liked him in the Ahsoka show, and I actually liked who/what he was.  But I also like this figure because I can pretend, he's just another Inquisitor that's not flashy flashy witch smog.

I'm definitely giving Huyang a lightsaber. A thousand years at the Jedi Temple, and a teacher of lightsabers.  Even without the Force you know the Droid could throw down.

So I think I'm gonna keep the preorders for Shin and Baylan, just in case Hasbro decides to not release fixed versions. Especially since, even if they do, it could be close to a year or more before we see them, considering how long they say it takes to make a figure from conception to release. And I'm gonna guess, (giving them the benefit of the doubt) that they are just now learning how bad the fuck up was on them. Although, with the way Shin looks, it almost feels like these were swiftly thrown together because of the popularity of the characters. How she managed to get greenlit the way she is without it being a quick push would be baffling.

I was reading comments online and alot of people said Baylan is actually pretty close to the right height, it's Marrok and Shin being too big that make him look small when side by side. People mentioned that it seemed they did a little camera trickery to make him look taller then he actually was, which is odd since he's like 6' 2" anyway. But, they compared Stevensons height with some other characters and figures with how their height was listed, and the figure is only maybe a hair shorter then it should be. So I'm gonna keep him and leave him alone. I really want him on my shelf, for many a reasons that many other people probably have too.

I was planning on maybe getting an Archive Bo Katan for a custom later, after she's released. And since she and Koska share an entire body mold, I may just end up getting 2, since she will probably end up being released around the same time as Shin anyway. Or, and this may be even better, when the Archive figure comes out, it may tank the already not so outrageous aftermarket price for the original. Especially since the original did manage to go on discount for a while. So if I need to fix Shin, which I probably will, there are alternatives to Koska. In the video, dude said that Sabines legs would work too, but she's not as cheap as Koska, at least not yet, cause of how new she is. So if Sabine goes on sale or discount, that could be another good option. I just don't like the lack of thigh swivel on Sabines legs. They are also thinner, but have less armor to pull off. And painting isn't an issue, I can do that. When I get Shin I may mess around with the replacement legs before I actually make the decision on which figure to use. I just really hope the lightsabers are orange in person like has been stated earlier in this thread. I wonder how well translucent orange paint would look... I think that's a thing.

Just got Marrok and Pre Vizsla. Very cool figures.

Marrok is a character design that I loved instantly. Love that dark armor with the Maximilian-style German armor aesthetic on the helmet. The figure is very nice. I like he sculpt of the armor and the range of motion in general is good. I do miss double knees here. The elbows get good range but the knees don’t get a lot. I want to be able to pose this guy in more crouched stances. But for a Black Series figure, this is very good.

Pre Vizsla has a slick design. And the metallic silver looks really nice. I like the double knees here, but as with Jango before him, Vizsla has small feet, and he could use more ankle range of motion. I’m also scared of ripping the tubes on the elbows. But cool head sculpt and helmet.

Decided to make a quick and easy custom "Lightcruiser Luke" since the one we got was more of an Ewok Village Luke.

I took the BoBF Luke as a base, gave him the vest and boots from the official Lightcruiser Luke, making sure to keep the baggier top pants by only swapping the legs below the knee. This looks much more like the Hot Toys version, but it's still not perfect. Mostly the skirt piece + belt would need to be slightly altered. Longer tabbards and a few tweaks to the belt. But it'll do and it's definitely more accurate than what we got officially.  230-A7838-2-BD3-41-FE-9974-0-C94-A5-DF9-F0-B

Awesome!

Kitbashes are great, and I love doing them since I don't think I'm great at customizing, but they also are kinda bittersweet. Why couldn't Hasbro just do that?

Yeah. The furthest I’ve done outside of kitbashing is adding a matte coat, or a quick drybrush, or using a Gundam pen for some detail like on the new HK assassin droid. I wasn’t blessed with the hand-eye coordination to do more.

But yeah, the “Lightcruiser” Luke Hasbro gave us is literally just the pipelined Luke meant to come with the Haslab Rancor with a different skirt piece and a black molded gloved hand. They said “good enough.”

That's why I kitbashed the Tython Fett since they just did a repaint of the Throne room figure, which was incorrect. But my custom was entirely boil and pop from three figures.

Amazon jacking up prices above MSRP based upon lack of competition is so irritating.  Gamestop ran out of Professor Huyang earlier today, and a few hours later Amazon jacked their price up from $24.98 that was one penny below Gamestop's price to $29.98.  🤨

In some fb groups I saw some of the GS exclusive figures, like Zalbaar, Riot Scout Trooper, and the K-4SO Survivor droid, and all were less then $5. It was crazy to me, and I really want to go see if any Nightbrothers are available. I have really wanted a few of those guys.

Wow. I am...stunned...at how the scale is just completely wrong on both those figures, and the fact they come with red blades and not orange. Umm, way to go Hasbro. I am extremely tempted to cancel the figures now that I have preordered. Like, I shouldn't have to buy 2 other figures to make these ones look like they should. And the lightsaber color is probably the final straw. If it was *just* one or the other I wouldn't mind as much, but both...

I am extremely curious as to what people think now. Will they make new ones to fix this egregious error? I mean they won't announce anything till these are out and sold already. But what are the thoughts?

I'm also surprised more people aren't mentioning how giraffe necked Hera is. I couldn't stand it, I had to fix her lol.

I cancelled my Shin and Baylon. Not worth having two incorrectly scaled, and mediocre looking figures.

I was at a Gamestop today that had some yellow Nightbrothers but the clearance price was $19. And then they have, I believe, a 40% off of clearance sale going on. So like, $11-$12 give or take tax in your area. I've never seen a Gamestop go lower then $10 pre discount on a clearance figure, but I'm sure it could've happened, and that would drop it to around $6. But their in store prices are governed by the company, not the individual store, from what I've gathered. If its on clearance on the site, its on clearance in the store, and vise versa. When I bought my extra Nightbrothers a couple months ago, they were doing a 50% clearance so I got them for $10 each. But for Gamestop, it seems like if it'll go below $5 (for action figures, with a discount price), they just take it off the shelf and send it back to the wearhouse or wherever. They don't even bother selling it at that point. Toys R Us used to have a big bin in the back when I worked there, full of just old toys that never sold, and I asked what it was for one time, and they told me they were toys that went on clearance, that didn't sell, that they can't sell anymore, because in their computers it would ring up a penny, but they couldn't send them back to anyone, so they just stayed there collecting dust. And there was nothing they could do with them. Weren't allowed to pitch em, couldn't sell em, couldn't give them away, couldn't send them back. It was kind of annoying, just seeing all that wasted plastic doing nothing. And there were a couple things in there I would've been happy to take home. But they told me it would be stealing. Tell me that's not kinda messed up.

Anyway, for Gamestop I think it has something to do with the $5 monthly they give out to pro members. They can't like, owe you money for you buying something and using that coupon. I'm not even sure if I've seen games go under $5 before, at least since they've been doing this coupon thing for the last so many years. But if your store does have the Nightbrothers, they still won't be super expensive. I haven't seen Big Z in store here for a long while though. So if you find one I'd grab it. I paid full price for mine, but I don't regret it. I love those games. Just wish the sword was a little smaller.

I cancelled my light cruiser Luke a long time ago. I didn't see enough different or new about him to warrant the rebuy of Luke in black, he looked almost identical to the one i had already. If I see the BoBF Luke somewhere I'll nab him though, but I'm not really jonesing for him. His face didn't look all that great, probably cause of them scanning a deep fake or whatever. Yknow a Luke I'd really love them to do is Shadows of the Empire with his yellow vest and black looking outfit. That's one of my fave looks for him.

I did indeed get in Marrok, Pre Vizsla, Huyang, and Hera.  And while Marrok was the figure I was most excited about (and he is awesome), Pre Vizsla stole the show.

Pre Vizsla is a great figure, and perfect Star Wars figure.  Just capturing the look and feel you hope for from a Star Wars toy.  Fun accessories, and amazing detail both in sculpting and paint apps.  And his head sculpt with all the scarring when his helmet is off looks so cool.

Pre Vizsla is definitely one of my Top 10 Black Series figures for 2023, but I would even say one of my Top 10 overall figures of 2023.

I like it that much.

Nice to hear some good words about Pre Vizsla! Most opinions on him, including mine, have been kind of mixed. He definitely looks really nice- with or without his helmet- and I've seen some people get a few fun poses out of him, but he's been responsible for plenty of headaches on the shelf in the short time I've had him because he keeps toppling over. Then again, I haven't had good luck with any of the figures that re-use the old Jango body. Oddly enough, Jango himself is fine, but the Loyalists and Mauldalorians take turns falling off the shelf (usually taking others with them). The only way I can get them to stand and stay without leaning them against something is by hunching them forward. Really wish he had a bit more range of motion as well, so he could hold the Darksaber with 2 hands (even if he mostly held it with 1 in the show). I wish we could've gotten Pre on something more akin to the Death Watch/Axe Woves body. I'd have sacrificed a bit of bulk/accuracy for better displays.
