@docsilence I agree. I tried spreading them out some though. Blue shirt before Vader and the purge troopers, wandering after, then this new one is on the other side of the Solo cast. I try for kinda chronological order on the shelf
And I'm not even really sure if Solo comes after this show but it definitely does on my shelf because Solo from Solo cannot go before li'l Leia on my shelf if they ever make a figure of her. I understand they were both adults when they finally met but still. It's my hangup.
Got the new Kenobi, too, but his eyes seem printed high, but I can't really tell. Anyone else's like that?
Mine was actually Obi Wan as well. Pretty glad Wal Mart came through for once. He's an awesome figure, but he has his flaws. Mines eyes are printed fine, so it may be an anomaly.
So his issues... I shaved down the sleeves, cause they were atrociously long. He couldn't hold his saber in any meaningful way. Now it's semi poseable. He also has up down wrist hinges, not that it matters cause you can barely use them. I didn't even know he had them till I pulled the hands out to shave down the sleeves, cause i couldn't move them at all. I could barely twist them around. He has a different saber blade then the old ones. I don't think it's bad necessarily, but it is definitely a harder plastic, and flat near the peg that goes in the hilt, not rounded. And the new blade is also deformed. It has like...indents, all along it on 2 sides. I sanded it down a bit then smoothed it out to make it less noticeable and less concave, but there is a pretty long awkward crater near the bottom that is noticeable in certain poses. I'm hoping mine is just deformed and the rest aren't gonna be like that from now on. The new blade also feels like my acrylic rods, like Sabine and Ezras new blades do. So it'll break easy, just an fyi. Try not to let them suicide off the shelf. That shit is fragile. Otherwise the figure is fantastic. The head sculpt is awesome imo. And the body couldn't be much better. Maybe save for double knees and getting rid of those stupid knee swivels, that literally every figure has now that are pointles and awkward, and also more fragile. Oh and the top of the saber hilt is black. Not sure why. Isn't it supposed to be silver? Not a huge deal, just odd. I think the hilt is a new mold, at least to me. Looks thicker then the older ones I have. But I don't have any from the show besides this one, so maybe they're all like that?
The rest of the stuff is running late, cause FedEx is fuckin retarded. It'll probably be here today, so I'll be able to mess with some more later. And of course, after I shipped my PoL they charged for the Phase 2 clone lol. Never fails. He'll have to wait for more stuff. No biggie, he wasn't a huge priority, just another clone for the clone group. But most of this stuff coming now was slated for December, so now December is gonna be lighter but I wasn't expecting literally any of this, besides Obi Wan.
This new Kenobi might be my favorite as well. Well, as far as live action is concerned- I still love the Clone Wars version. I do wish his hood was a little less unruly- so far I can only get it to stay against his back if I flip it inside out, but then it looks weird. The rest of it is beautiful, however- I love the colors. So cool to finally get the Skyhopper model as well!
Love Marrok and Huyang too. Was worried Huyang was going to be tough to stand, but apart from the protocol droids, he's been the easiest droid to stand so far.
Marrok is a pleasant surprise too. The rust isn't anywhere near as bright as in the pictures. Still a smidge brighter than I'd have liked, but it helps it pop more. I also love the ball-jointed wrists. I've seen mixed opinions on them, but I think they're so cool. Hindered a bit by his armor, but I'd love to see them implemented in more figures, especially Force users, down the road.
Saw some guy on Facebook was able to get Baylan and Shin- don't know where he was located or how he got them, but nice to know that they're not too far off. It wasn't perfect, but I do have to commend Hasbro for at least trying to get these out as close to the show as possible. Had Morgan while the show was airing, and the rest of the wave a few days to a few weeks after. I don't fully expect it to stay that way for future releases- but not having to wait months to a year or more after is a nice treat.
I think my favourite Kenobi from the show is the blue outfit one, he just looks so different from almost any other character, mostly because of the blue outfit. I love it. I wish I could have grabbed a second on sale, Ithink a blue shirt would make for a great custom base.
Yes, I would love an A'sherad / Krayt two pack. I would also pay a crazy amount of money for it.
I went to Walmart last night, with $30 cash to get a Black Series figure. Last time I went they had BBs2 Wrecker and Echo, and Black K. I was debating on grabbing one of those. Well this time, no Echo, but they had several Wreckers, Hunters, Techs, and a box out with five Fives in it! It was crazy to see. I would have grabbed Fives in a heart beat, but my buddy grabbed him for me and will be shipping him soon. I am really impatient and almost decided just to grab one anyway, worst thing is I will have two Fives. But I decided to be patient, and I grabbed Wrecker. I think I will grab Tech next time if he is still there. Now I have s2 Wrecker, and Hunter. They are so fun together, I am glad I did not fully disregard BBs2 outfits (minus Hunter and Omega, who I was definitely getting.)
I brought Hunter and Wrecker to work today and am having so much fun playing around with them in my free time. Both such fun figures. I do like s1 Wrecker better for a number of reasons, one figure specific reason is the helmet on s2 does not fully cover his chin, so if his head does not look down with the helmet on you can see too much skin. Still I am enjoying the figures and glad I have them.
Right now on BBTS, my POL is mostly Star Wars. Aside from TVC Grand Inquisitor and Thrawn, it currently has (for tbs): Chopper, two TCW Ahsoka's, Omega, Marrok, Huyang, Pre Vizla, Hera, and four phase 4 clone troopers. It really hit all at once, and I had to call BBTS to get an extension on paying for a few of these until payday next week, but once that hits I am paying and shipping. This is a lot of new figures at once and I am worried I will not be able to appreciate them all as much as when I get one or two at a time. I think I will open just a few at a time. Omega first, and when Fives comes in from my friend I will open him and the phase 2 clones. It would be cool to do a photo*shoot* with Fox and Fives head on a p2 clone body. (I still dislike Fox, partially for that and partially for the Ahsoka situation.) Either way, it is a very fun Star Wars toy time, as there have been soooo many great figures this year. Would be nice to see Baylon and Shin before years end, especially since Yak Face reported that Baylon has already been shipped to the us.
Anyway, I am a happy Star Wars collector this year, especially right now. 🙂
The blue was the one I was most looking forward to. This latest one fulfills one of my biggest wants for Black Series (I always wanted that wildly expensive statue of Mythos Obi-Wan and this costume really is a near perfect homage to it so it's as close as we'll get I reckon, but the blue Kenobi was the one I messed around with the most, too - great ROM, detail, just a fantastic figure.
I can't believe how many variations we got though. When was the last time they did like, almost every outfit of a character from a show in quick succession? Ever? Is this Ewan's star power at play, internal love for the character, easy parts re-use? Whatever the reason I don't really care, just think it's rare and cool that we got an Obi-Wan for Every Occasion (TM).
Easily repaintable Star Wars costumes are Hasbro's true dream. 🙂
Blue Shirt Obi is definitely the best look he had in the series since it was unique and not immediately "what do you mean I look exactly like a Jedi? I'm not a Jedi. Uh-uh." He pops up sometimes from Bullseye Deals so it's possible to snag him cheap! Or use the 25% coupon on him, since he's still available online.
I got the Jedi Legend Obi-Wan. He's pretty bad, just like all the other Kenobi show Kenobis. Limited arm and ab articulation. Likeness is good. I mostly got him for the goggles (put it on a custom EU Luke) and T-16 (gave it to Teeka).
I will say, his hood is actually very good. It looks quite nice and seems well tailored.
I saw that a bunch of figures (Ahsoka, Magnaguards, Hera and Pre) went up on Gamestop. Went ahead and ordered them there since both BBTS and Amazon seem to be dragging their feet with them. Added another RotJ Vader to keep carded to go along with my RotJ carded Luke. Those, along with Papa George are the only carded figures I have. It'll feel good to have my favourite scene from the franchise immortalised on my wall.
edit: Looks like everyone but Vader was a preorder despite not stating so on the website. Ugh. Who knows how long it'll take for them to ship if the other sites are any indication.

Not everytime, but a lot of the time BBTS will send out preorders in waves. (not like Hasbro waves, but will fulfil preorders now, then do more preorders later) All the ones you mentioned have been in my POL on bbts for a while, so it might be worth it to preorder with them, then cancel if you find something quicker. BBTS is good about sending out early preorders quick, then ordering more stock for later.
So I got Ahsoka from CW, Hera from Ahsoka, and Pre Vizsla from CW.
Ahsoka looks good. She can't hold her lightsaber well with her left hand though because of how it's sculpted. I also compared her shoto to her old one from the Wal Mart figure. It's a new mold, the new hilt is slightly longer. I find it odd they sculpted a new one. The head is a thing of beauty. The figure sculpt is nice, really looks accurate, even how skinny she is, that makes a problem I knew was going to happen eventually however. Because of these wonderful knee swivels they started doing, her knee almost broke. The peg that goes from the knee to the leg half tore while trying to pop her boot swivel. So she is now the first figure that I've glued the stupid knee swivels. I just glued the disc to the top part of the leg on both sides. If she had proper thigh swivels it wouldn't hinder anything, but she has those new sockets that they've been using to replace the thigh cut. I'm still not sure if those are good or bad, but as of now I don't hate them. I just know I lose some rom with them. Besides that I really like the figure. She looks amazing. Her saber blades are the newer kind like Obi Wan has. I can see the deformities in them, but they're not concave and bumpy like his blade is. I still sanded them with really fine paper to make them diffused and they look alot better. Had to glue her skirt and her belt down, they moved around way too much. Sometimes I miss them sculpting those on the torso rather then making them separate pieces, but I understand the change. Just makes me use more super glue lol.
Hera also had the new sockets for her legs and no thigh swivel. Her crotch area is also different in its engineering. The barbell is connected to a flat piece of hard plastic, that looks almost like a disc. And the front of that disc makes up the bottom of her crotch section. And the hips and butt area, are connected to that, making them 2 separate pieces, instead of it being a front and back glues together.I don't think its bad necessarily, just different. Her neck was awful. She looks like a giraffe, so I trimmed the neck down and drilled it out some to make the head sit alot lower. It looks much nicer this way. Her face is also superb. Looks really really good. I like most of the faces they're doing now, that's something they've greatly improved. I just wish her goggles were posable. It would be nice to be able to put them around her eyes. It wouldn't have even been hard to do, just engineer them like the range finger on Mando helmets. That's how Techs goggles are on his helmet. It would've been super easy. Had to glue her belt down too, it was way too floaty. I basically have to glue evey belt down nowadays, just inconvenient. She's also using the ball wrists like Marrok does. They're well hidden under the coat. I'm not sure of these either. I don't think they're bad, but I'm not sure they're an improvement, at least not yet. I think I would need to see how they work on some more lightsaber wielders.
Pre Vizsla uses the old Jango Fett body. Is it wrong that he is using this old body from like 10 years ago, but he needed the least amount of work? The only thing I had to do was heat his guns up since they were both a little bent and glue his belt down. He required nothing else. He could've benefited from some up/down wrist hinges, the old side to side don't pose the guns too well, or the darksaber. And since he's using the Jango body, his elbows are extremely limited so he can't pose much with the saber anyway. I like the body itself, but it could've used some new arms and hands. The paint is awesome. And again, the face is great. His rocket also comes out of the jetpack. I thought that was nifty. The Dark Saber is painted slightly different then the one from Gideon. It has white on the edges instead of being clear. And it feels sturdier, less gummy. It looks like it can attach to his jetpack on the side, but I haven't found a way to get it to actually stay. It keeps falling out. He's really cool for what they did.
So, it seems they are gonna be going with these new ball joints and doing away with thigh swivels, at least for the most part. I'm still on the fence, but I don't hate them. The knees are still pissing me off, and now one basically broke, so I'm even more annoyed with them. If most of these had boot swivels I'd glue them all down so they don't move, and I still may. They look stupid, the human body doesn't move like that. And they make the knees more fragile, easier to break and tear. I would rather get better rom from "bad looking" double knee joints then slightly over 90* with something that can break when I try to twist it or even just bend it. My Malgus one almost broke, and he's got some heft to his joints, and my Ahsokas did, and hers are skinny af. Some steps forward, and some back. Just like power rangers. Otherwise I'm happy with most of the ones I've gotten recently, and it's been alot.
Got notice from Amazon that Hera should be arriving Monday. Happy to have this wave completed before the next one hits!
Has anyone gotten the GameStop exclusive Maul? I feel like I haven't really heard much talk about him. I'm definitely waiting until he comes down a bit in price, but he looks nice.
I got an Airborne-helmet Purgetrooper for a good price on ebay, so... you win, Hasbro. I'm crossing the Airborne trooper off my wishlist.
Maybe I can win by losing....
Got the Magna Guard and Phase 2 Clone. These are very cool figures. Magna Guard is a character I’ve wanted in figure form for a long time. It came out so nice with so much articulation and range. The pauldron armor pops off easily though.
