Does the retro package Jabba still have that gaping open mouth due to the weird action feature? I got one, but to keep packaged. Also received retro RotJ Vader and Royal Guard. Is that it for retro RotJ wave?

Bbts charged for Marrok. I keep shipping my PoL cause the figures I have ordered all say December and i don't expect any more to come out. But they keep releasing them early lol. So I shipped him and the vintage Grand Inquisitor, because, again, nothing else should be coming out till December. So we shall see. Anyway, Marrok will be here soon.

I honestly believe it was a girl in that suit, something about the way they moved. I wonder if they translated that to the figure or if it's just a blank body with armor on top, leaving it ambiguous. I also should really look up the actor who was in the suit to see if I'm right or not. I really am looking forward to Baylan and Shin when they come out. I hope they turn out as good as they look. And they fix the blades to be orange, it's hard to tell in the pics.

*edit* well now I feel bad. It's a guy in the suit. Sorry Paul in the suit. Still moved like a girl. Lol.

Got Lothal Ezra yesterday, and Jabba is due to be delivered today. So cool to have 2 Jabba figures delivered back to back! 🤣

Just got Jabba, and he's a thicc boy. To quote Cassie from Ant Man "He's so ugly! I love him!"

Can't believe it's taken me this long to get a proper Jabba. Love that his mouth opens and closes when you move his arm. Nice that he actually came with the stand/hookah too. Makes me wonder even more why the Force Ghost 3 pack didn't come with the little bridge section.

Only thing I'm worried about is the rubbery head piece. Did the original have it? And if so, how has it held up over time?

I have the original, his head is rubbery, and I never touch him aside from dusting but he's held up perfectly.

When we saw Jabba in 1983 we had to just assume his species doesn't move well, but Lucas seemed eager to prove that wasn't the case when he edited Jabba back into Episode IV and showed him slithering along next to Han.  We also saw Hutt move pretty well in the Clone Wars series.  I'd love to get Hutts where their entire body is poseable instead of just their arms.

I feel like him not moving well WAS the original intent for the ROTJ design, but when it came time to do the SE version, Lucas was forced to use the scene he'd shot with 'Jabba' walking with Han. But I remember a BTS making of special, may even be the Creatures one that's on Disney right now, where Lucas pushed the designers to get less and less human, man-in-suit, and more sluggish, vile/regal. And he had no regard for what he'd shot for ANH in the early 80s, so I wonder if he'd known he was going to reuse that footage eventually would that have had any influence on Jabba's ROTJ design. Or would it not have mattered and he kinda had it in his head that Hutts can scoot around some anyway?

I used to have a Jabba figure as a kid- I wanna say it was the Power of the Force one, and he had a movable tail. It would certainly be cool to have one that moves in Black Series, but it's not like you can get many dynamic poses out of him. Especially if it keeps the cost down a little. I'd probably keep him in the same pose anyway- I like a good curl to my Jabba. The parts that I'd want to move are articulated, so that's all I can ask for.

Huh. I never took much notice that the BS one doesn't have an articulated tail at all. Weird. Even the Kenner one had a tail that moved.

And of course, as I figured (no pun intended), BBTS charged for Clone Wars Ahsoka. The day after I ship my PoL, again. So last year, Hasbro was excessively wrong with their ship dates, by being late on sending out everything. And now, they're over compensating by going too far the other way. Estimates too far out. Well hopefully something else comes out early then and I will ship it, again. It's only $4 luckily, so it's not like it's expensive if you spread it out even between 2 figures.

Yeah, if I was you I'd be having a conniption. It's one thing when you find a figure you already have on sale somewhere else, but it's another when you can save money on shipping. When I was collecting hard enough to warrant doing this, I would ship my POL every three months no matter what. I didn't mind waiting that extra time if I knew they actually had it waiting for me, and I'm cheap enough that I enjoyed just spending $16 a year on shipping.

Just pulled the trigger on the Cobb Vanth & Cad Bane 2pack. I realized I wanted it when I stopped seeing it in Target and regretted not grabbing it while I could. It's in Target's ebay store for $31.44 (the listing says $36.99, but another 15% discount is applied automatically when you check out). I'm very happy with this set at that price.

It's a good set for what they did. It's pretty solid, and I have very few issues with it. Cads hat doesn't like to stay on. And his second gun doesn't fit the blast effect like it should, because it's a different mold then the other one. He doesn't have thigh swivels. And Cobbs pants are molded a little oddly, but they're not bad. Most of that is nitpicky though, besides the thigh swivels.

Not sure the best way to go about this, but Wal-Mart came through on my second order of Fives, and I'd like to help out a forum member who's still in need by sending it to them at cost + shipping. Haven't opened him up yet to check if it's really him in there, but the box looks pretty crisp and the tape looks unscathed.

I want to be fair and give people time to find the post and all that, so I was thinking maybe give it through the weekend, and then put all the names into one of those spinning wheel things and pick a winner?

Don't want to overstep or break any rules, so if any mods think I shouldn't, let me know, and I'll find another way to get it out to someone.

But if all sounds well, I guess go ahead and like the post if you want to be considered for Fives? I'll draw a winner Monday. I'll post pics below if I can figure out how (sorry for the glare and bad angles- I'm not used to glamor shots, and can take better pics if anyone wants). If the pics aren't showing up, let me know too.

Thanks, all!

From the department of "did I just buy the same figure twice" - anyone know if the new carded Imperial Guard is any different from the ones we got before? I think I only have one already so having a pair isn't a terrible thing, fun for displays, but I'm trying to avoid accidentally buying dupes and I totally think I just got a dupe (I'd preordered him ages ago along with Jabba and they both arrived today).

Love the retro packaging on Jabba.

Yes, it is 100% the same figure. I know because I have it and two of the previously released ones.
