@enigmaticclarity Same. Most wouldn't fit with my collection, just not what I'm looking for, but at least it makes sense. I've never bought one credit or carbon figure, but I'd get a holo-Sidious.
With the bounty puck, I could see these making a cool accessory for a Mandalorian costume though. Stash it in your belt under your cape and pull it out to ask people at a convention if they've seen this scoundrel, etc.
While I'm not mad that these exist I do get very annoyed every time they reveal 15 figures and none of them are new figures from the original trilogy (I think there's literally been one in 2023). It stands to reason that the team is only going to put out X figures per year so every new figure released that isn't what you've been hoping for is disappointing and, after a while, frustrating.
But I agree that these are one of the cooler repaint lines. I just don't get why they wouldn't at least include Leia and/or Palpatine. Maybe they can't figure out the soft goods. I'll grab the Mandalorian if/when he goes on sale.
I mean, could they potentially throw one of the Force Ghost robes, or something like it, onto a transluscent blue body for the soft goods route? Or heck, I'd settle for a harder plastic robe for Palpatine or Leia if it would get them into the line.
If these do well, hopefully the second wave can do away with the "wanted" aspect of it and just do holo versions of characters. Could give us Palpatine, Leia, any number of troopers or Jedi, Maul, etc. We got almost every prequel Jedi as a hologram version in the old lines because it was an easy reuse of the mold, and arguably cheaper in some ways, since there was no paint required. I'd definitely pick up almost any Jedi they chose to do in that style. They can make up for the time it's taken to actually release Ki-Adi by giving us regular Ki-Adi and the famous "What about the droid attack on the Wookies?" Ki-Adi in the same year. 🤣Â
I like the idea to work it into a cosplay. I'm not talented enough to ever be able to do that, but it's a cute idea.
I'd say the only ones I'm tempted on are Mando and Ahsoka, but even then I'd probably wait for clearance. I'm probably in the minority, but I kinda just want the figure itself; I don't need the light up stand, especially if it's gonna boost the price.
I guess it does since they're $35. Yikes.
What if holo mundi actually comes out first?! Heh.
And there's plenty of vendors who will paint and sew for you if you ever wanna get there. But it's funny how many skills cosplayers have to learn just for one costume.

Knowing Hasbro, it wouldn't surprise me!
I actually have some friends who are extremely talented cosplayers. A friend of my boyfriend is an extremely skilled Star Wars cosplayer- he has an amazing Mando, Tech, and more. He's even worked with Emily Swallow on a few things, since he has a 3D printer and has printed some hammers that she's signed and given away. I know it's so cliche to say, but I can't even draw a straight line most days without my hands shaking- I could never make my own costume, and all the money I could spend to pay someone to make a costume has to go toward Black Series. 🤑 We pick our poisons, you know?
Anywho, I digress. I look forward to seeing what awesome Boba, Mando, Cad, various Bounty Hunter cosplayers integrate these Holocom Collection figures into their costumes.

Yeah, this idea I get. Axe Woves' inclusion I do not get. Was the Boba Fett mold busy?
Too bad characters who would make the most sense - Emperor, Vader, Leia, Darth Maul (maybe?) - all have soft goods that can't be made transparent (or rather - I don't want to see Palpatine's see-through soft goods).
@joshsquash729 I hear you. I'm trying to decide right now if I want to continue collecting Marvel Legends or sell everything off and focus more on the costumes. (My avatar is me if you didn't know.) I wish your boyfriend's friend was nearby; I need a Mando buddy to dramatically enter bars with.
@ru1977 I'll be honest, I'm not sure where he's located, but I know he travels around a lot for cons, so you never know! You should look him up- rocinantecosplay on Instagram.
On a separate note, has anyone ordered any figures from GameStop and gotten them recently? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on Ahsoka Ezra and the updated ROTJ R2, both of which appear to be in stock on their site, but I didn't know if anyone has actually gotten them from GameStop yet. I've ordered things that appear to be in stock before and it still takes weeks to ship.
Thank you, I will!
@joshsquash729 I received Ezra and Morgan from GameStop a couple of weeks ago.
Found 4 Black K at a local Walmart the other day, so I was able to grab one for myself.
His head was on backwards in the sealed box, but otherwise is fine. He scales fine with the other BoBF figures, so I'm fine with him. He's MUCH better than that malnourished comic version.
I also got the email from Pulse that my 2 holiday Jawas have shipped. Will need to get my NoN Santas back out of storage for Christmas so they can join them and the Bumble-Wookies.
I think the holograms are fun display pieces, but probably not for me. I'm having anxiety about space issues anyway so if it's not love at first sight I can skip, but I could honestly see getting a specific character for my desk.Â
Got a very short list of characters from Ahsoka that haven't been announced yet that I have VERY strong feelings about wanting in Black Series form now. And would very much like Baylan and Shin like, right away. Hope they ship early (and I'm kind of at the "please don't ship early" stage for a lot of my preorders right now!).Â
I do feel the holo figures are lacking some elements of color. Even the box art shows that they aren’t just straight blue. They need some color showing through kind of like what they’ve done with some of the Jedi force ghosts. Still ‘blue’ but they have face and clothing details still there. The solid, unpainted blue isn’t accurate to anything. It’s lazy. I love the concept of the line but the execution isn’t there.

I can think of two off the top of my head, Wicket and Endor Rebel Soldier. But I agree with your sentiment. I really want more OT. That is what keeps me invested in other things Star Wars. PT to a lesser extent too.Â
I get striking while the iron is hot, and making current merchandise. I can't really blame Hasbro for that. I just wish for more OT and PT figures too.
