Well crap. I missed the pre-order for the battle damaged Vader & now I missed the 24 hour window he was available to order. I was really hoping to catch this one, but I can't really hunt much.
Â
Yep, he's gone for shipping and he's gone from my area now. I figured he'd sell well, and yep--he's selling FAR better than I expected. Hopefully they get re-stocks, but even if they do we might not see them listed online. Or maybe we will. It's impossible to predict what Target will do well or screw up these days because they do both of those regularly. 😜Â
Â
Yeah, Vader selling out makes me nervous, I ain't gonna lie. I knew I should've placed another order yesterday when it was in stock. Still waiting for my pre-order to ship, and though I'm sure I have nothing to worry about, the recent kerfuffle with Tracksuit Mafia and the Bad Batch wave has me nervous. Must remain calm; fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to raging on action figure forums about not getting the little plastic people I wanted.
Disappointed in my RotJ Vader. It’s a good figure. Mine is defective, as it seems to have had its left index finger sliced off at the knuckle. That could be annoying to replace. The two piece helmet is nice, but fits a little loosely for my liking. The head sculpt is very good though. It could pass for Christensen or Shaw, which works for me.
I had the same issue with my Ewok Village Leia, the QC across all Hasbro lines just hasn't been great lately.

What a great finale to Ahsoka. Ended up really loving the season (not that I had any doubts I would). Can't wait to get the remaining figures. I saw Sabine at a local comic shop yesterday, but marked up to $30, so I didn't grab her. After watching the finale, though, I really wish I had.
My biggest toyetic thought during the finale was
Also, not that I'm complaining- it still looks like a really nice figure, but it's odd that they gave us Ezra when
Also, YakFace reported on a new Hologram series. I'm honestly surprised it took Hasbro this long to do the variants. We used to get them all the time, at least with the ROTS line. The first wave is full of the usual suspects, but I'm looking forward to others- Palpatine, Clones, Maul, Luke, etc. I'm sure they'll boast a deluxe price point, what with the light-up stand in each package, but it's a cool gimmick.
Â
Woof. Hard pass. This makes the credit and carbonized figures look good by comparison.Â
I'd be open to hologram versions for characters that had significant scenes that way, like Palpatine. Eh, I guess just him, heh.

SpoilerAhsoka finale spoilersI wish they'd waited to give us Morgan, so we could get her Nightsister head and Sword of Talzin. I'm sure we'll get it, as it's an easy repaint/repack. I'll put the regular release on my Mando shelf, I guess. Also, hoping to see a Death Night Trooper eventually- hopefully with alternate cracked open helmet.
I thought the same thing! In fact, I went so far as

I wouldn't be surprised if we get a nightsister version of Elsbeth. Personally Im going to stick with the regular version.  Loved the episode, but didnt really dig her look as a nightsister that much to be honest. The flaming sword was neat though.
I came out of the episode wondering more about that Ezra "Tython" figure. If that's really based on him in show, I guess it's from season two in the future? I don't remember him cutting his hair, shaving his beard, changing his outfit, and going to Tython last night.  but to be honest, I was pretty stoned lol
Just spoilering this in case you haven't finished Ahsoka
They are just re-releasing the Chopper from Rebels right? If so, there's nothing different to him in Ahsoka?

Season 2 hasn't even been finalized yet, let alone written, so he's definitely from either unused concept art, Hasbro's predictions on what would happen, or just a "bonus" figure to hold us over until they can do his actual look.

Chopper's left leg is green in Rebels, gray in Ahsoka. It's a minor change, but the figure of Chopper currently on preorder is the green legged Rebels version.Â
Â
I got Sabine today. Hasbro be Hasbro. They just... stupid decisions...
Ok so, frustration is coming from her legs and her helmet. They didn't give her thigh swivels. Instead, they gave her widened out sockets for her legs, so they can swivel a bit better on the ball, but it's not a large amount, so she loses rom there. And they gave her boot swivels, cause almost no other figure in the black series has those. So let's take the more important one away, and give her the one we never give to anyone else. And, to top if off, she still has that stupid above the knee swivel they've been using. Cause, that doesn't look fuckin weird when it's twisted at all.
Now the helmet, its huge. Just big. It doesn't fit, at all. Her head just rolls around in it like a marble. I cut little plastic pieces out of her package window (so glad those are back) and glued them all around the inside of the helmet to at least make it so something is touching her head. It's still loose, but it doesn't just flop around anymore. I did something similar with Axe cause his helmet was insanely large for his head as well. Why? Why they do this? Sense not made.
2 small issues of note, her gloves are casted black, fingers painted flesh. So expect that to rub off with excessive weapon use. And her lightsaber blade will almost assuredly break. Like it's not even close to flexible. It's like the acrylic rods I use for my replacement blades. She takes a nose dive, pray she lands well, cause that shit is stiff. The hilt is also pretty stiff. That I'm actually happy with, cause that being gummy sucks. But, it could also break if you're not careful. So double edged Saber (get it?).
I haven't watched the show yet, I plan on doing that tomorrow. But uhh, why's her blade green? Green means heavy force user. According to everything I've seen, she is...not. At all. Like she's the opposite of Yoda. From the memes I've seen she can't even lift a rock or some nonsense. But I guess I'll find out when I watch it.
Her lightsaber was given to her by Ezra, whose lightsaber blade was green.
Lightsaber colors have no basis on "class" in Star Wars canon--this isn't KotoR. And your lightsaber blade color can change if you will it to, even outside of "bleeding" red crystals, or "purifying" white. Ahsoka's lightsaber blades were changed from green and yellow/green to blue by Anakin because he's kind of a self absorbed weirdo.Â
Â
edit: Even in KotoR, you could pick whatever color you wanted anyway. You could be full lightside and even use red blades, for instance.Â
Â
The best lightsaber lore was in the Visions short "The Ninth Jedi" where the blade color changed depending on whoever held the saber. Even the old Marvel comics had Luke's RotJ saber ignite red when Vader had it.Â

Im betting it's got to be something more with the concept art or something along those lines. Otherwise it's just strange to release a rebels season 4 Ezra on an Ahsoka card, while they have Chopper on a rebels card in the very same wave.  Maybe it's something as simple as a mis-communication at Hasbro, who knows!
