Watched the first 2 episodes of Skeleton Crew, and it's really fun so far. I like that it has that Amblin-esque charm to it- it's whimsical and fun, but still has a little edge of darkness to it. I'm intrigued by the mystery of it all too- there's a lot to seemingly unravel that I'm excited to see how/if it plays into the larger narrative or remains a side story.
The only characters I'd say I like so far are Neel (he and his whole family are just adorable) and SM-33, who I didn't even realize until someone pointed it out is a play on Smee. Heck, there are a lot of little Treasure Island nods that seem so obvious in hindsight. I like Wim too; I feel like he's a pretty good stand-in for a lot of us actual Star Wars latchkey kids. Fern and KB I'm indifferent on so far, but I'm interested to learn more about. I'd like to know what's up with KB and her visor. Interested to see Jude Law play into it all too. Not sure if I fully trust his supposed Jedi powers.
Was nice to see that Brutus actually played a part in things! I was pleasantly surprised! Not only did we get a figure of a cool-looking character before/as the show airs, but he actually plays a part in the plot! Definitely glad I grabbed his figure before- I can see him being a fan fav. I'll definitely grab SM-33 when he comes out too. I know he was just revealed/pipe-lined, but I hope that, since the show was delayed, he may be a bit further along than we think.
Looking forward to Kelnacca as well. I think he'll sell decently well on the grounds of being a Wookie Jedi alone, but I'm definitely picking him up, both to support the line and show love for the show. 33 bucks isn't that big a leap from the 25-27 they usually go for around here.
Got Kelnacca pre-ordered at Amazon, no fuss no muss. The mark up still stings - but I whined way too much about needing the guy - I can't balk now.
The expected ship date is May 5 - and I feel like they missed an opportunity by not listing the ship date as May 4th there. We all know that ship date is a fiction anyway - why not have fun with it?
I can see why. The last thing you want when you're traversing the stars and fighting evil empires is for your big hairy Kelnaccas to be hanging out. Give the man a Jedi robe for modesty!
I pre ordered Kelnacca today. It's a toy of a Jedi Wookie. I was legally and morally obligated to pre order this toy.
Also, thank goodness Kelnacca has on some Jedi clothes and that robe, to cover up and cloak that giant, furry, Wookie War Hammer. Had that thing just been flashing all over the galaxy, the era would have had to have been called "The LONG Republic"
Fun historical fact. In this past long ago, in a Galaxy far, far away, they used to refer to Wookie wieners as Fur-Longs. Due to how furry and long they were. And this is where Edward Furlong and his families last name originates.
I can't not order kelnacca. I wanna wait for a sale cause every deluxe has gone on sale at some point except the hammerhead. But this one could be a gamble to wait on. Popular character, jedi, new species for jedi. Ill preorder him, but I'm still a little on the fence about whether I should or not.
You definitely should. Definitely
@fletch I'm pre-mad too, but I think we have a such a proven history of the worst Star Wars... enthusiasts being really awful to young actors it's justified pre-anger. I have seen a lot of folks preemptively defending the kids - like no matter how the show does, LEAVE THE BABIES ALONE.
Kelnacca - I would love, love, LOVE if a very support-role character from a show that had so much of a struggle becomes one of the most popular figures of 2025. Because a Wookiee Jedi SHOULD be the most popular figure of the year, dangit. I can't wait to get him.
Not going into spoilers at all on Skeleton Crew, but did like that they leaned in on "this is for kids, but that doesn't mean it can't be dark and scary" 80s movie vibe. That opening scene is INTENSE and I'm glad they made some bold decisions like that.
You know how the Marvel stuff has had some leaks the last few years? Does that ever happen on this line? I can't recall.
Yes leaked pics from the factories circulate. The bodies and heads for Episode 3 Anakin and Obi-Wan are out there. These pics are creating quite the leaked list. Yakface gathers lists of all the good info on figure rumors.
Thwipp!
MCUCollector24 found the Yoda with chair and Gree 2-pack at Disney World.
Anyone heard when that 2-pack is supposed to hit shopdisney.com?
Opened up a couple of multi-packs I had been waiting to open for when I had a quiet night, the Duel of the Fates three pack and the Last Command set. I think they're the exact same base body, but man, it's depressing to see them still using the Y hip joints for Luuke and Obi-Wan. Nobody liked those, right? I can't stand the Y hips.
C'boath is the most Alan Moore action figure I've ever seen and I love it, and Qui-Gon just feels better overall than his first iteration - I haven't pulled out the old one but there's just a quality vibe to the new one I really appreciate. I think they've really figured out Jedi cloaks lately, too.
@enigmaticclarity That was live a few weeks back. Looks like it is no longer listed.
Found all the Skeleton Crew kids at GameStop, but I only snagged Neel for now. I'm happy to have that adorable blue scamp; can't get over his little combover- it's so cute. He and Wim feel the most "worth" the price since they come with a little more accessory-wise, but since I had my $5 monthly coupon there, I used it on Neel, and at $20 (18 before tax), he feels worth it. I have a feeling he'll be a hot seller, along with Brutus, from this first wave- maybe Jod Na too, but they didn't have him.
Silly little side note, but I gave season 2 Cassian a little shoulder bag like he has in the box art, and I think it really adds a little "somethin' somethin'" to him. Had an extra from the Temple of Doom Possessed Indy, and since he never wears it in that scene, figured I'd give it to cassian. I know it's probably not screen accurate in any way, but the dark tan color goes really well with all the dark browns and blacks on his costume. I figure if it's on the box art, they should include it with the figure, but this is the next best thing.
